Hi all.

I had a self imposed ban from the Boards yesterday. I didn't get out of work until after 11 on Monday night, due in no small part to my inability to exercise any self restraint when I get the instant email notification that a post has been made to the thread. Anyway . . .

Ran 8 (with speed work) yesterday and 11 this morning (the wind was crazy). Tomorrow is a rest day and then I'm not sure what I'm going to do. My schedule calls for:

Friday: 4
Sat: 8-15K race
Sun: 17

Of course, I am running the MCM 10K, which is on Sunday. I was oringinally planning on just doing the 17 on Saturday (it worked out ok before the ATM) but Matt is now really into the idea of doing it before work on Friday. I'm not a good sleeper, so if he gets up to run, I'll wake up too and might as well just get up and run. But it was so cold and dark and windy during my 11 this morning, the thought of doing 17 miles in the dark is really not even remotely appealing.

Howard - I am all set to track you! Seriously - What's up with your last run!:scared1: You are supposed to be tapering! Get some rest!

Gotta get back to work. I really want to be able to have dinner at home tonight!

Howard - Your run sounds perfectly reasonable to me (BTW, I had 5 @ 7:35 last night ;) ).

I'm super impressed with all you early morning runners. I've got no problem on race mornings, but I much prefer to run in the evening. Everthing just feels so stiff and still asleep in the early morning.

Yeah Mike and Howard! Love those taper week runs!!

I got 4.5 miles in last night, felt pretty good after my 17 on Saturday. I ran 2 of the 4.5 and my hamstrings were really tight after and this morning. I went to yoga this morning to stretch things out. Also got a call from DD's school, she needed to be picked up, she just gets too tired to hang in there the whole day.

Mike~ Nice pace you had on your Fiver! For some reason I think you can attain that pace a bit easier than I can. :confused3 I really had to work for it.

No running or workout for me tonight. I am resting my left foot arch which flared up a bit after yesterdays run and some sore feet from general wear and tear from work.

Have a great night!

Colleen - Nice job on the run/walk. How did the knee feel?

Howard - Enjoy the night off. You've earned it.

I had an intriguing run this evening while DD8 was at dance. It was cold and windy so I bundled up with long pants, gloves, and my running jacket. I told Kathy that if I was nice and toasty I might be a little more patient and slow down a bit. Her response was something like "Why are you even running tonight. Why don't you just drop her off and go get a Blizzard at DQ." Seed planted!

So I drop DD off and start to run and even at a pretty slow pace it's not going too great. Well, it takes all of about 2 miles to figure out I'm way over dressed and am baking like a turkey the week after Philly. So I strip off all the extra layers and end up running the last 4 miles with my pants in one hand and my jacket in the other. Much better.

Oh, and I cut it a little short so that I had time to go to Dairy Queen and get a large Blizzard! Yum!

Hello, Hello!

Drive by! :drive: Busy week; I've been away from the large glowing box with the keyboard. I've got to catch up with posts. Catch you all on the flipside.

Greetings Bots!

Haven't posted, but lurking! I was trying to be good & stay out of that whole self-massage/sitting on various peoples hands conversation :rolleyes1 .

Howard - Inspired by your running & pace. I'll be tracking you on Sunday! (That's sounds a bit creepy, no?)

Mike - Outfit all picked out??princess: . Because of you warm run last night, I'd say go with the running skirt, it'll keep you fresh & aired out :rotfl: . How are those Blizzards, BTW? I hope you got one for DD, too!! Your pace is scary-fast :yay: .

Cindy - I haven't been able to get up for a cold, early a.m. run yet! Nice job. Glad your toughest training weeks are behind you! So are mine :lmao: .

Lou - :yay: :woohoo: Hooray for the Phillies!! I'm down with your decide-on-a-daily-basis training schedule :thumbsup2 .

Colleen - How'd you feel after the yoga? How's DD today? Any more LR/W for you b4 Philly?

Sara - You & Dave should car pool down to Philly!

Dave - How ya doin' bud? How's that dopey hip, anyway?

Chester - How ya doin? Your training must be winding down soon, too, right? Or are you signed up for one of those wigidy-wack 50 mile a week things, too?

ChickPea - When are you rolling into Philly? Mode of transport? Lodgings?

I have nothing remotely inspiring to report here, Tues. did 6 tempHo-hoochie, yesterday ran a mile (don't ask). I've gotta run today sometime, too. I guess I should run like 10 or something this weekend, then 20 next Sat. (as if).

Come on Jodi, we can do it! :dance3: :cool1: :cheer2:

That is my plan too! :cheer2: :cool1: :dance3: :yay:

I am actually excited about getting in the miles!!!! :confused3 I know what a switch!!!! popcorn::

Oh, yes, and moose, elk, deer, antelope, beavers and bears...oh my!!:thumbsup2

Too cool :hippie: .

Say, if I decided to participate in the Iditarod, would any of you come scream team for me??? I could get WISH Booties for my team!

Four weeks of training to go. My mileage maxes out at 44, and that week is already in the bag. Next week will will finish with a 20 miler and will total 43.

I'm heading over to WDW for the Tower of Terror 13k on Saturday. Going solo and staying off property in a Motel 6.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

No miles to report for me today. I was too busy staying up until 12:30AM last night to watch the PHILLIES WIN!!! Okay, I will say this...there is an odd feeling in Philadelphia because there is an usual sense of calm and optimism in the air despite the normal pessimism that we have had for 25 years. Now that all might change tomorrow morning but it felt great to feel great today.

Somehow I am going to try to squeeze in 20 miles this weekend...somehow. I have the Bridge Run (10K) on 11/2 so that kind of kills next weekend. May just need to get in my 20 on a work day since I only need to ask myself for approval for some time off.

Lou

I'm going to squeeze 26.2 in this weekend as training for the Philadelphia Marathon next month. :lmao:  ;) :thumbsup2

Hard to believe that in one month, the PHILADELPHIA MARATHON takes place! Woo Hooo! :yay: :cheer2: I've got to get through this weekend, recover, then "re-invent" my enthusiasm to train for 3 weeks for the Philadelphia Marathon.

No running for me tonight. I am still resting. My arch feels better as do my feet in general. I don't want to mess with that at this point. I will do a few miles tomorrow - really easy this time (10 Minute miles).

Have a good one! GO PHILLIES!!! 1 down, 3 to go! :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

Quick :drive: all about me post, sorry!!

Rest day yesterday which turns out to be a blessing since I'll have to attempt a LR today while the kids are at school. I have pink eye so I am out of work for the day:headache: . DH and I will be celebrating our anniversary by going to Dallas this weekend to catch the Cowboys play on Sunday:yay: Hopping a plane tomorrow and I'll be back on Monday. Yes, quite last minute since we just booked it yesterday:confused3

Happy training and racing to all this weekend:grouphug:
