DH and I will be celebrating our anniversary by going to Dallas this weekend to catch the Cowboys play on Sunday:yay: Hopping a plane tomorrow and I'll be back on Monday.

Ummmm......WHA...??????:confused3 This is definitely more labor/cost-intensive than moving a treadmill. And yeah, what Mike said about Stevie & Ray working the lights....I'm flummoxed!;)

Good luck to all you MCMBOTS on Sunday, whether you're running 26.2 or 10k!

Louser - Sorry - I couldn't resist. Don't worry about it, they'll win the next game for sure :thumbsup2 . 20 miles??:scared1: Yuck. Hope your boss isn't a tool & give you the time off ;) .

Howard - Can't wait to hear about your Sunday.

Mike - Can't wait to hear about what you wear on Sunday.

Chester - I wanna run ToT :sad1: ! Maybe next year! Have a blast!

Hi to you other peeps!

I ran 5 yesterday after work....whoopeee! Sad part is, I thought I was really accomplishing something by doing that many miles :rotfl: .

DH and I will be celebrating our anniversary by going to Dallas this weekend to catch the Cowboys play on Sunday:yay: :

Cool!

DH and I are going to the Carolina Panthers game on Sunday too! DH was given club seats from work, so I am really excited about being pampered!!

sara, i hope your eye gets better!

Jodi, hi!

Howard and Mike, I set up tracking for you guys and Steve for Sunday! Good luck and here is :wizard: for perfect weather!

I got 4.5 miles in last night again. I am really liking this evening run/walking. We have a busy weekend planned, so I probably won't get my 10 miles in until Monday or Tuesday.

Sara - I guess Happy Anniversary or whatever it is. Hey, last year most of us shared your anniversary dinner. Why didn't you invite us this year? :confused3 Enjoy the game.

Jodi - Super accomplishment on your 5 miler. How many days are you taking off to recover?;)

Colleen - Good to hear you are liking the evening miles. Have a fun weekend. I hope you don't get spoiled by the luxury seats. Are the Panthers playing the Roughriders this weekend?

Chester - Have a great ToT. Maybe you'll get lucky enough to be upgraded to concierge at Mo6!

Well, just got back from the MCM expo. All you would expect from a big-time race. Lots of freebies, samples (gotta love when they're sampling beer and wine at 10:30AM), race booths, etc. Kathy picked up a tiara at the Disney booth promoting the Princess half in March and I actually bought some RaceReady shorts and some Injinji socks. Shorts with frilly pockets on the butt and socks with toes. Maybe I should have picked up a tiara!

It feels funny not running today. My schedule calls for 16 today and 10 on Sunday. I guess I'll kick in the 0.2 for free on Sunday.

Hey Everyone: I've been biking all week and stretching my hip with some good stretches. I've done 30 min on the exercise bike every day this week. I'm shooting for another 3 hour ride tomorrow. Hopefully it doesn't rain.

Mike- Sounds like you had fun at the MCM expo. Ooooh, I wish I was there.

Sara- I'd say you thoroughly confused everyone on this thread. Happy Anniversary. Give my best to Mike (DH). I still remember that if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have seen my Dad after the Lincoln Monument.

Colleen- Have a great time at the Panthers game. I've never gone to a progame.

Jodi- Great job on your 5 miler. Let's see that's a ton more than I've run in the past couple of weeks. You're going to end up dusting me again in the marathon.

Howard- Kick butt on Sunday.

Chester- Have fun at the Tower of Terror race. Say hi to all the WISHers for me, oh yeah, and have a Mickey Bar too.

Howdy Lou- Go Phillies!

OK, I'm outta here and heading home.

Hi everyone! Thank you for the kind words of encouragement for the race this weekend. I went out for my "easy" run tonight, my last run before the MCM.

Here are my results:

Miles: 3.03
Time: 26:31
Pace: 8:45

Splits: 8:49, 8:44, an 8:40.

I really did take it easy. I felt like I wasn't pushing very much at all to get to that pace.

Tomorrow we head to the MCM Expo and then we'll meet up with everyone. I think we'll arrive around 12:30 PM or 1 PM. The "meet" is at 2 PM.

We are dining at 5 PM with Denny & M'Lisse, some great Italian food and some pasta for major league carb-loading.

I'll post results on Sunday night. Thank you to everyone that will be tracking my progress. I will do my best to "kick butt" and take names.

Have a great weekend!

Real quick, I DID manage a 10 mile run this morning (and haven't stopped running around since then):headache: I am literally still in my CWX tights with a pair of fleece sweats thrown on over them:sad2: . I saw the High School Musical 3 matinee with the DD's today:laughing: .

Splits were 10:16, 10:18, 10:14, 10:34, 9:54, 9:42, 10:12, 11:05, 9:51 & 9:35. All on the bike trail and all felt real good:banana:

Mike - I didn't even know we were actually celebrating it until last week:confused3 . I only booked the trip yesterday:thumbsup2 Best of luck on the catered training run tomorrow:cheer2:

Dave - Thanks:hug: . I do remember when Mike and the DD's were thrilled they got to point you out to your Dad at MCM:love: .

Colleen - :yay: Have a great time at the Panthers game!! I've never been to a pro football game myself either.

Jodi - :rotfl2: :rotfl: I'm not even going to comment on the celebration of the momentous occasion:confused3 .

Lou - Best of luck getting in a 20-miler this weekend:banana:

My run today did inspire my to get psyched about the race next month:yay: I hope I can keep the momentum going for the duration:cheer2:

Happy racing to all the MCM'ers tomorrow:grouphug:

Hey Everyone: Wow, pretty quiet around here yesterday. I didn't get my bike ride in yesterday because it was pouring down rain. I'm trying to get my butt out the door this morning. Need my coffee first.

Sara- Great job on your 10 miler! That is awesome! You are inspiring me girl.

Howard, Mike, and Cindy- Hope you're having fun running around the mall.

Hello DISBots!

Howard, Mike and Cindy - Good luck at MCM.

Howard - I just checked and so far you are looking good at the 1/2 way point. Hopefully you can keep up the pace.

I'm getting ready to head out for 20 miles. Normally I am out by now but I didn't get home until 2:30AM after watching the PHILLIES!!! One of the best games I have seen in years. Now I go run 20, come home to watch the Eagles, and get ready for Game 4.

Have a great day everyone!

Lou

Lou- Good luck with your 20 miler.

Howard- You are flying so far in DC! Keep it up!!!

I don't usually post here, but I just wanted to pop in and say a big Congratulations to all those who did the MCM! :cool1:

Howard, a shout out to you, because I knew your bib number. You did fan-fricking-tastic. :worship: I hope you were happy with your race overall, and are looking forward to Philly.

And a big :worship: to Chester. I got to meet you, briefly, before ToT and wanted you to know I really appreciated seeing your smiling face on the last leg of the race. It made ME smile, something I didn't think I was capable of at that point.

And a :goodvibes for everyone on this thread. I lurk here occasionally, just for the motivation you all provide.

Howard - Way to go at MCM! I got home from my 20-miler and checked out your time...very nice!!! You hung in there pretty tough the whole race. Can't wait to read the trip report.

Mike and Cindy - I wish I would have asked for you bib #'s. I wanted to track you guys but wasn't able to find you. I hope you both did well.

Sara - Hope you are enjoying the Dallas game. So far it looks like a win for Big-D.

Hey Dave, Colleen, Chester, Jen, Steve, Jodster, Gilligan, the Skipper, and the rest of the crew!

I finished the 20-miler. Overall I did okay. Was running well under a 9 mpm for the first 10 miles but then, like usual, I started to lose steam. Finished around 3:07 which was okay. I decided I need to try to drop at least 5 lbs before Philly because I just don't think I am anywhere near where I was last year. Oh well.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday! Go Eagles....GO PHILS!!!

Lou

I'll have to keep this short because I'm (unfortunately) working on something that has to go to a client tomorrow.

Lou (and anyone else who may have thought I was actually running a marathon) - I only ran the 10K - not the marathon. I did have a good race and was able to spend a few hours cheering before I had to head home. Met up with Howard, Cam, Mike, Kathy, and Steve before the race and did see both Howard and Mike at one point on the course.

Howard and Mike (and Steve and Denny if you are reading this) Congrats on knocking off another 26.2!

Hey Everyone!!

Eagerly awaiting race reports!!! Howard, sounds like you did awesome!!

Mike - What about you?

Cindy - Glad to hear you did awesome & enjoyed yourself

Lou - WOW, what a day!! The Phillies win AND you ran 20 miles:thumbsup2 ! Now if they win tonight you're golden! Not sure if the Eagles won :rolleyes1 .

Hey to everyone else!!!:grouphug:

Hey Everyone,

First off, I know Cindy was busy and didn't have time. But she definitely didn't do herself justice. She had a rockin' great race! Well, I thought it was a great race. I hope she is happy with the time.

Cindy - Fabulous race! And what's up with Matt? Holy crap! Did you promise him a special reward to run that fast?

Lou - Nice job getting your 20 done. Not much fun for sure. Not that you asked or anything, but a month before a marathon might not be the best time to be trying to drop weight. I mean, if you can't eat what you want when running big miles, what's the point?

Colleen and Sara - I hope you enjoyed your games.

O.K., now for my little race report. Sorry in advance, but I always enjoy reading everyone elses', so I'll probably get a little lenghty.

We got to porta-pot/bag drop village around 6:45. That must have been earlier than last year because it was all kinds of dark out. Kathy and I waited a bit for Howard, Cam, Cindy, Matt, and SteveOH to meet us. We chatted for a bit then Cindy and Matt headed one way for the 10K start, Cam and Kathy to the starting area to scream team, and Howard, Steve, and I to the lined up in our desired pace areas (by way of porta-pots). Jodi, the Brooks VIP john was half way up to the corral area and the red-carpeted line was way too long for me to peak in for you. Sorry.

We waited a bit for the howitzer gun to go off and started the shuffle. Steve was a little behind Howard and I and wished us good luck. It took about 4 minutes to slowly cross the line. I ran 26+ miles and was done. The end.

No just kidding. Howard took to the shoulder and was off like a shot. I wouldn't really see him again until almost half way. It was crowded going for a heck of a long way. Lots of ups and downs for the first 8 or miles but nothing too unbearable. All the lovely scream teamers were supposed to be around mile 10 so I was on the lookout. Somehow both Howard and I ran by them without being seen:confused3 . We must have been in stealth mode. Out around Haynes point past the half way point. At this point I saw Howard jump out of line to greet someone he knew but I couldn't get over to run with him without causing a big wreck. Back to civilization and lots of spectators, past the Lincoln Memorial and onto the National Mall.

I was lucky enough to see Kathy and Cam at miles 18 and just before 20. I was maintaining a pretty good pace at that point but told Kathy I got my good 20 miles in and was going to back it down from there. And that's what I did! Walked when I wanted and ran when I felt like it.

I had a couple of scares with some almost cramps but was pretty comfortable coming home. I walked a bit in anticipation of that nasty hill up to the finish then started to run when I turned up the drive to the Iwo Jima Memorial. A funny thing happend on the way to the statue. I couldn't run the whole way up that SOB. I had to walk a few hundred feet then run across the finish.

Chip time of 3:50:41.

A mass of humanity at the finish!! I finally found Kathy, then Howard and Cam met us at the W (for WISH, of course) area. We milled around a bit then waited in the beer garden for a quick chat with Denny and M'lisse. Then Howard, Cam, Kathy, and I walked a little over a mile to a Five Guys hamburger place for some most excellent grub. We then parted ways, the end of another great MCM weekend!

Going in to today, I pretty much had 3 goals. First, a strong 20 mile "training run". I finished 20 miles at a 8:19 mpm pace. Check.

Second, I didn't want to get carried away and set myself back for Philly training. I took the last 6.2 pretty easy and feel just fine tonight. I'll see for sure on Tuesday when I try to run again. Half-check.

Lastly, I needed a 3:50:59 to BQ my original bib owner for '09 or a 4:00:59 for '10. Official time of 3:50:41. Double check!

Sorry again for the massive post, but what the hell. You spend all day at a race, it's fun to talk about it.

Hi everyone! I'm back from D.C. We got home about an hour ago. I had to tend to some boo boos on my feet like I've never experienced before and grab a long overdue shower. I think we hit some Baltimore Ravens traffic on the way through Baltimore, it took forever getting home.

Well, I'll post a full trip report soon. Official start times were missing for Mike and I but things seem to have been corrected to some extent. My 5K split time is way off, possibly some others. Mike did extremely well logging something like a 8:44 pace. At one point I was hanging with him, so that makes me feel pretty darn good (after all, he is younger than me) ;) . Then I stopped to say hello to a friend along the course and he passed me. I didn't see him again until after the finish.

SO, here are the corrected official times:

Miles: 26.52
Time: 4:10:39
Pace: 9:27

Splits: 9:13, 8:49, 8:09, 8:08, 8:09, 8:13, 8:38, 8:07, 8:24, 7:47, 8:10, 8:21, 8:42, 9:32, 9:28, 9:47, 9:40, 10:19, 9:50, 10:08, 11:00, 10:34, 11:30, 11:16, 12:06 and 11:25.

I certainly did my best. I beat my previous PR by 31 minutes, 4 seconds!! I ran with a 4 hour timing band on, but realistically hoped for a 4:15 finish. I came in close to the 4:00 time, it was within reach. However, I just didn't have much (if anything) left in the tank to pull it off. You can see I struggled a bit in the last 6 miles.

Thank you for all of the encouragement, support and advice leading up to this race. I can't wait to recover and get ready for Philadelphia!

:grouphug:

WTG Mike, Howard, and Cindy

Mike, I am so impressed with your speed and ability. WTG! I want to talk to you someday to figure out what your training secret is.

Howard- awesome job on the PR. That is fantastic! I would be sooooooo happy with a 4:10. We're proud of you.

Cindy- What was your time in the 10K anyhow? Don't work too hard.

Jodi- What were you up to this weekend? Not much from me. I was feeling run down all weekend. I went out to bike 3 hours this morning, and only made it 1 hour. So I've decided I'm relying on you to get me across the finish line in Philly.

Sara- Hope all is well in Big D.

Lou- Great job on the 20 miler. I have to agree with Mike about not worrying about losing weight now. You can do that after Philly. Just don't eat Thanksgiving dinner.

Hi Colleen- How was the Panthers game?

Hi deekaypee - thanks for checking in.

Howard, check the MCM site. They resolved whatever the issue was and we now have official times:cool1: .

Mike~ Thanks! It shaved one additional second of my overall time! Not a big deal. I've updated the post above.

By the way, it says I crossed the 5K point at about 37 minutes, that is not accurate by any stretch. So something is still wrong with the timing on the splits.

Dave
~ Thank you for your kind words.

 :woohoo: :yay: :worship:

WOW GUYS!!

Howard - GOOD FOR YOU!! I'm so happy to hear of your most excellent run! Talk about shattering a PR! That's unreal! How do you feel? I can't wait to see you in Philly!!

Mike - NICE JOB QUALIFYING FOR Boston ;) . I'm psyched that you had a terrific run as well...although I WAS hoping for some nice photos of the VIP porta-potty, oh well. Hey, did you have to wait in line very long without my guidance?:rotfl: Too cool that you're feelin' fine.

Very envious of you both.

CindyBoo - Would love a race report from you!!popcorn::

Dave - You & me in Philly, dude!! Let's go for a PR! ok? :rolleyes1 Seriously!

No exercise for me today, but I ended up going to a Patriots game!!! My bro called in the a.m. & said he couldn't make it so gave me his tix! It was very surreal, and not completely what I expected. Honestly, I'd rather watch a game from my living room. Waaaayyyy too many drunk people stumbling around!:rotfl:

OK, after these posts I'm real psyched to run Philly  . No really, I am!
