Well, I got the 17 in. I didn't end up getting out there until after 2:30 so it ended up being more of an end to my day rather than a break.

I'd say the run went fairly well. As I mentioned earlier, I decided to try for a 9:50 average pace for the 14 marathon pace miles. I ended up with an average of 9:40, with my slowest mile being 9:51 and my fastest being 9:14 (way too fast - I was just getting annoyed and was trying to get the run over with). I felt pretty good for most of the run. I guess I will shoot for the 9:50 in the marathon, although it is still really hard for me to get my mind around the thought of running that fast for the full distance.

Hi everyone! I bagged my run for today. We are having 31 new windows put in tomorrow and Tuesday, I am taking off/working from home tomorrow and we had to clear furniture, clean, take out screens, dust, etc. in prep for the contractors to be here the next two days. So, no run. I won't lose any sleep over it. I will get some short runs in this week in advance of MCM this weekend. I am really looking forward to seeing a few of us WISHers there and seeing what I can do on this 26.2 mile unfamiliar course. I think I will enjoy running amongst the monuments, spectators and groupies. :lmao:

Cindy~ Great job on the 17 miler.

I'll post more tomorrow, in the mean time.. everyone enjoy the week ahead.

:grouphug:

I guess the workout did me some good - it was better than nothing, but I didn't feel near as tired as I would have with a 3 hour run.
Dave - Maybe try letting all the air out of the tires. That would probably add some fatigue in there:lmao: . Nice job getting out when the weather was bad.

Jen - Congrats to you for putting some miles in. Don't forget that Mickey Bar for me.

Cindy - Wow, another great run. I'm thinking unless something really crazy happens, 9:50 (or faster) should be well within your reach. You are so trained up already and have put so many quality miles in I just don't see you bonking.

Howard - 31 new windows? Yikes! Yeah, don't sweat missing today's run. A few short runs this week to keep you fresh and you'll be all set.

I was scheduled for 7 miles today. Poor route planning and 8 miles later, I was all done. It was chilly and dark and I ended up running faster than I planned but all is fine.

Enjoy your Monday all.

Hi guys,

Really quick before yoga this morning...DD back to school today, finally. I am not sure if she will make the day as she is still not 100%. She lost 6 pounds over the last 10 days, which is a lot considering she only started at 84 pounds.

Very excited about yoga and then maybe 3 miles later today!

Cindy - Nice job with the 17 miles. You are banging out some serious mileage. You should be more than ready for Philly at whatever pace you want to run at.

Howard - 31 windows? That's a serious amount of windows.

Mike - Nice job on the 8-miler. You gotta be a Phils fan this World Series. There is no way that a city like Tampa and a bunch of transplants deserves to win a Super Bowl, Stanley Cup, and a World Series.

Colleen - Glad DD is better.

Jodi - I'm with you. Running marathons is starting to wear on me too.

Chester - I am looking to vacation in Florida (St. Augustine) this Easter for a week. Are there any good web sites that list upcoming running events in Florida? The sites I find don't show much for April 2009. I'm just looking to run anything (5K, 10K, whatever).

Hi everyone I missed!

Got in 14 miles yesterday at a 9:45 pace. I fully intended to run 18-19 but I am finding I am not as motivated to run my 3rd marathon as I was last year to run my first. I made the mistake of looping my intended route close to home around Mile 14 and that is all it took to bail. I was feeling pain in my core muscle area and I just said, "bag the last 5 miles. You can find time to run a 20-miler later". I'm not sure if it's work, the Phillies, or both but the motivation to run 2-3 hours on the weekend is killing me. Hopefully I can get in a few LR's before Philly and get through it. I used to think running a sub 4-hour marathon was my goal this year but I'm not sure anymore. I think I just want to be able to enjoy this race and see where I end up when it's over.

Hey Monbots!

Colleen - I'm SO happy your DD is feeling better :cutie: , thank goodness!! WTG on that 17 miles!! Holy crap! :thumbsup2 . How's yoga today?

Lou - Don't worry about that bail out, it's a regular occurrence for me!:lmao: ! Just think about it...probably 3 years ago 14 miles would seem unattainable. It's all good. But the marathons are wearing thin on my brain, I definitely need a break! I think I'll concentrate on my 1/2 times for a while. Maybe for that run in VA Beach in March I'll stick to the 13.1! I'm trying to muster up some enthusiasm for Philly as well...truth is I'm more excited to see everyone again (and meet Bots) than running 26.2 miles  .

Dave - Nice job on the biking! Even in the crap weather you got out there, good for you! Are you sore today? All set to cruise down to Philly? How long of a drive will that take you?

Mike-ster - Nice 20 miler, dude!! I swear I couldn't do that & then run 26.2 the following weekend, just can't wrap the ol' noggin around that one. Me & Boy got free lunch outta corn-coppin' it...burger & chips & some apple cider...whoopeeee! Imagine my son's dismay when he found out that he wasn't actually receiving the money that he was working for  . He's having a hard time "getting" this whole charity thing!

Huggy - All set for MCM? Sounds like you've got a real plan for your PRs!:thumbsup2 . I always go out slow...then taper off all together:lmao: . Actually, the marathons I've run all seem to be in the same range as my training runs :rolleyes1 . Apparently I don't like to "push" myself :rotfl2: .

Sara - Don't you love the fall?? What's doin'? Any running in this weekend?

Jen - Enjoy the world!! Forget running! :lmao:

CindyBOO - aka running/working wench. Your weekend sounds like a complete nightmare!!!:scared1: ! Working AND running? Holy crap. You are completely DRIVEN & it's quite scary! :yay: I hope your boss appreciates your dedication! How's Matt's training going? Please don't fret about your marathon time, you'll do fine!!!

Nothing to report here, ran 2 miles w/ Spencer yesterday (I wasn't planning on doing anything, but he actually asked me to go so how could i say NO?). I still haven't turned the heat on in our house :rotfl: :rolleyes1 popcorn:: and I'm trying to see how long I can go before I do. This a.m. was a bit trying, though, as it was 25 outside & 54 in the house! Time to wear your hoodies to bed everyone!!!:rotfl2: no wonder why Bruce calls me a cheapskate.

:scared1: 39 outside this morning and 66 inside the house and I my nose was actually running from the cold when I was making breakfast for the kids!

I'll confess to wearing gloves while working at my computer yesterday in attempt to avoid turing the heat on. I had to eventually give in - too many typing errors.

Oh stop!!! Just shove your hands in your armpits for a while, they'll warm up!;) :lmao: stinky but warm.

Here are the websites for a St.Augustine running club and a couple from Jacksonville. April is still a ways off as far as listings on the websites for smaller races. Just keep checking.

It can self-massage? :thumbsup2 :confused3 :lmao:

Mike~Are you just going to let Cindy get away with that? I think we might have another Jodi on our hands (not that mine are cold or anything :rotfl: )

Now what's THAT supposed to mean????popcorn::

You guys totallly crack me up! I think this is where all the WISH team comedians (read: "smart a$$es") hang out. Love you all bunches, though!

So, as soon as we get this little detail of Howard's MCM behind us, let's start planning this carb load extravaganza for 11/22 at the Keeners. Next week, right about this time, I'll stop back and start reminding everyone to PM me with whether you are coming to our house for dinner on Saturday and how many of you there are. I am going to make the sauce from scratch the first weekend of November, so it will be good for me to start thinking about how many people I am cooking for. :goodvibes
