:rotfl: ah, well, shucks yeah!

But after being all worried that I would get in, I saw the loads and loads and loads of people that have entered the lottery, especially from NC and I decided that there is No chance in h*** that I will get in.

Now you've REALLY done it. You'll definitely get in now!!:lmao:

Sara - Good to see your knee is feeling better. Hope you get your PT.

Dave - Nice job on the 3-mile run under an 8:00 pace. Yes, buying a company is exciting. I am actually working on a contract with Villanova University and was on campus today. Occasionally I get to cross over to the academic world.

Jodi - Congrats on getting in the NYC 1/2!

Colleen - I'll keep my fingers crossed for NYC. I don't expect to get in the first year but maybe I'll get lucky. Good luck to you!

Cindy - San Diego weather is always so nice. However, it is very dry and sunny so I could see why you dehydrated. I'm going to have to keep this in mind for the DL 1/2 which is in August.

Hello Mike, Steve, Howard, and anyone I missed.

I spent the sunny afternoon at Villanova U today for the project meeting. Afterwards I decided to head over to my old home town of Swarthmore, PA and run some miles on an old familar course. I parked at Swarthmore College and ran most of my run through the campus. For those not familiar with Swarthmore, their college campus is one of the best I have ever seen. I spent many a summer hanging out on their grounds growing up. Lots of stories.

I ran 4 miles through the trails behind, around, and on the campus. I used to run this course every day in my early 20's. There was one trail that climbed over 300' in a 1/2 mile. I learned something today: I'm no where near as fit as I was in my 20's. When I got to the top of the trail I almost threw up. I have never been so tired after running 4 miles. It still felt good. Got home and walked 2 miles with DW. That's all folks!

Lou

Lou, really, I don't want to get in! If I get in the $165 marathon fee they automatically charge to my credit card will be lost. I am hoping I won't b/c I want to wait until next year when Jodi gets her automatic entry.

Colleen~ Good (or is that Bad?) Luck with the Lottery! :rolleyes1

I got up at 6 AM this morning and ran 3.52 miles in about 37 minutes. I am not usually a morning person, but I think my training will call for it some days instead of after work.

Thank you (again) to everyone - Lou and Dave included, who have expressed congratulations to me for my graduation from the University of Delaware's MBA program. It is so sweet being finished! :cool1:

Hey Everyone.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Any word from you NY lottery folks yet?

Man, it got hot here all of a sudden. I ran 6 yesterday and 7 today around 9AM and just about cooked. It kind of sounds like what Cindy said her weather was like Sunday. I was ready to stop at 5 miles. Forget about making it 26.2! Double kuddos to you Cindy.

Nothin' much else fun going on. What about youz guyz?

Any word from you NY lottery folks yet?

Looks like I am good!:cool1:

I mean, looks like I didn't get accepted. Not sure how to tell because no entries say NOT ACCEPTED yet, but others around me alphabetically have been accepted.

DODO any word yet?

Hey all! Let me try to catch up a bit here!

MIKEY!!! - Hello, how are you??...:rotfl2: like I care. But really, doesn't the heat suck?? Already?? Glad you got some good mileage in, though, nice. So what are the girls up to this summer?? Any camps or such on the horizon? Or are you just doing the swim thing?

I keep checking the NYRR site but still no info on my "status". None for Colleen either.popcorn::

Lou - Work sounds very overwhelming, but gratifying. That must've been weird running through the old neighborhood (thank you for refraining from sharing the stories;) ). I did that around Christmas & it was so cool to run where I lived as a kid. Any races this weekend?? I may actually try to find one.

Colleen - Like I said above, neither one of us has a yay or nay yet. I'll let you know when you get in ::yes:: . How 'bout your kiddies, any summer programs?? Tell DH WTG on his half!!

Sara - Glad to hear things seem to be getting better & perhaps there's light @ the end of the tunnel!:) , you need a break from all this hurting already!! So glad you're almost off the roids:furious: :rotfl: . How'd the walk feel & how is everything else? TOO excited that you'll be in WDW.

Howard - Hi, dude!

Dave - Glad you enjoyed Wicked. My ankle's better, thanks. Still a little swollen, but no pain to speak of. The NYC 1/2 is Sun 7/27, I can't WAIT! Will you be in WDWin '09? Oh, and what's up with your pace?:moped: :thumbsup2 . Guess we won't be running any marathons together anymore!!

Cathy - How ya feelin? So proud of your SD run, those were brutal conditions & I think you just need to be happy you finished without getting injured & learn from the day (if there IS anything to learn??).

I'm sooo excited you & DH got in NYC, too!! I'll be going in on the Sat., not sure if DH & kids will be with me yet. Not sure he can handle too much after sitting around nearly 24 hours after my last adventure :rolleyes1 :rotfl: . Found a good hotel near the park, the empire hotel, & it's pretty cheap.

OK, here's my deal: ran 7 Sat., 4 Sun, bike 30 min. Mon, 4 miles Tues (w/ a jodistop thrown in after the first mile, good think I was still looping around the neighborhood at that point & could go back home :scared1: ). Ankles a bit cranky with swelling. Got a CD of all these pictures from the director of the Ultra. Too cool! Man, do I look haggard in many of the shots :faint: . Don't think I'll be doing that again any time soon. I need to work on speed:moped: now so I can run a sub 2 hour 1/2 in NYC!

Thank you for all the sage advice about my potential :hippie: EasyRiderPGversionTrip accross the US :smokin: , but alas, I waited too long & they pulled the offer. I was still undecided when I checked the website, but that pretty much put the nail in.

Ooh, that was looong. Sorry.

Nuthin' yet :hyper:

No races this weekend. I really don't have anything planned until the DL 1/2 on 8/31. Need to find something longer than a 5K this summer. Sea Isle City, NJ has a 10-miler on 8/2 but that's all I see in the horizon.

Took the day off from running today. I'll probably get in 5-6 tomorrow. Not much happening here today but rain. :umbrella:

Lou

My "training" tonight:

GO PITTSBURGH PENGUINS!!!!!!!

Hello to all!!!! Gotta get back to the game!

How can someone so close to Philadelphia root for the Pittsburgh Penguins? I have a hard time cheering for the Red Wings but in this series...the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Go Wings!!!

WHAT A GAME!!!

There is a big NO beside my name for the NYC marathon.:cool1:

I have never been so excited about being rejected.::yes::

So, now that Jodi has has a guarantee entry into next years NYCM, I will lottery again and hope to get in.

Last day of school today for my kiddies.

Lou: I grew up in the Greater Pittsburgh area (Oakmont - about 14 miles north of town along the Allegheny River). I grew up going to Pens games. I have a deep level of support and commitment to my "Hometown" teams. It was a great game last night and series. The Red Wings are a great team and very deserving of the win. They earned it! I guess I own Carrie a Sundae at Beaches and Cream. Small price to pay to a great friend whose team won the Stanley Cup.

Colleen: I am so happy you were rejected. :cool1:  I hope it all works out for next year! Our son's exams ended yesterday, he is now officially a sophomore! They grow up fast!

Howard - I see. Loyalty towards your hometown team is a must. It's been 25 years since Philly had a champion but I will root for the Philly teams until I die. Actually, the Penguins really are not as big a rival for us as the Rangers and Devils. My best friend is a Rangers fan and we go at it every time the two teams play. No matter, now the hopes and prayers lie with the Phillies.

Colleen - I stayed up to 12:00 to see my big NO too.

Since I got rejected by NYC...now what? I am up for running Philly in November but need another out of state race to peak my interest. What can I run in the Fall that is within 5 hours of Philly?? MCM and Atlantic City are on the short list. Any ideas?

Hey guys!

Colleen - :thumbsup2 A big NO by my name, too!! I'm sooo excited. Now I KNOW I'll get in next year & don't have to fret about trying to run NYC & then Philly a few weeks apart! We'll run together next year!

Wow, your kids are out of school already? My son gets out on the 11th. Other schools get out the 18th. He went on a 2night field trip today :moped: to Boston/Gloucester. :worried: . I'm such a tool, what'll I do when he really leaves?

Lou - I had no idea that you were signed up for NYC, too. Or did I?? Looking for another fall marathon? I think Colleen has a bib# for you for this years SOLD OUT MCM in Oct.:rolleyes1 ....She won't charge you too big of a premium for this much sought after entry!! Great race, you gotta run it!

Howard - Nice run, nice times! Keep up the good work!

Hi to all you other weenies!!

Got up this a.m. & did a 4 mile run which turned out to be a tempo run...I think...I wasn't wearing my Garmin, but my watch said it was fast & it felt fast. Really felt my abs @ work which is supposed to be the whole crux of the ChiRunning :hippie: . My ankle aches a little, but I'm icing. It's supposed to be in the 90's over the weekend :faint: .

Mike - Do you recommend the Runner's World on-line training program? I've gotta start doing something scheduled-like for this 1/2 in July!

Lou: There is a good group of us running MCM. This will be my first time at this race. It would be great to have another WISH'er running it. However I am sure you would finish it WAY before I do. ::yes::

Thanks Jodi! I can feel the improvement (cardio, muscles, etc.) already. I have a long way to go before MCM though.
