Jodi - I have been checking the NYRR site obsessively. I think your trip idea sounds awesome. I would love to drive cross country some day.

Colleen - I hope you are having another happy day!

Howard - Great job on the grades. Enjoy your graduation weekend!

Dave - I'm glad you liked Wicked.

Sara - I'm sorry you are still in pain.:wizard:

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to sit around on my fat beehind all summer.

You should run some shorter races. I bet you'd get some great times. :duck: :duck: :duck: :duck: :duck:

Cindy - RU & the hubby getting excited yet???? I so wish I was going? How's he feelin', by the way?? Painfree?

His IT Band has still been bothering him, but he's been resting, icing, and foam rolling. I'm hoping he makes it through the marathon. He was so disappointed in how MCM went (he had to walk the last half because of his calf). I told him my only goal for this race was that we both be in ok enough shape to enjoy the free beer at the end (because that definitely was not the case at MCM).

Hello.

I just spent 45 minutes typing personal responses to everyone and my G-@$%%& computer did not accept and erased them! :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:

I need to step back and take a breath. I shall be in touch.

Sorry, that totally sucks. That's happend to me before so that now I copy the text of any long post so that I can paste it into a new post if my computer eats it. I hope your achilles gets better soon.

Lou - :wave2:

Hey Sara, good luck with those vicodin. Uuuugh, it doesn't sound like you have much of a choice there between agony and addiction. I think I would take the addiction route too. Heck, they can always wean you off it with methadone. Plus, you can meet some more interesting people when you go in for methadone. Boy here's a picture of a strung-out addict hopping aboard the hippy bus with Jodi. Can I come?

Have fun with the pool boys... spandex, vicodin, and pool boys, sounds like the 70's XXX porn music is still playing at your house.
Thanks for making me :rotfl: when I just wanna  today. Let's just say the doctor's appt was as expected. I saw a slew of pics of my knee took during the scope that show it is real messed up as far as severe damage due to improper tracking. Advanced arthritis, serious concerns, yada, yada, yada. I told him that today I really don't care about that since I can't think straight with the agonizing tendon pain. Then he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about:furious: . I told him to look at the MRI report:rolleyes1 . He still wants to think it's nerve damage but he did give me an Rx for some 7 day mega anti-inflammatory pack. If no relief within 3 weeks then I'll get some cortisone in there. I need serious relief from the current problem before I can even care about the long-term prognosis with respect to running again.
Glad Wicked was wonderful and that you both had a grand time:banana: .

Cindy - I hope you and Matt have great race experiences:yay: . Travel safe:hug: .

Jodi - I am hoping to go swimming real soon;) . Is swimming under the influence of narcotics dangerous:lmao: ?

Not any more dangerous that going on a cross country road trip in the hippy bus with a strung-out addict:hyper: , a Chi-lovin' Dodo :hippie: and Dave.popcorn::

Is it just me? . . .

Do you all get annoyed that you can't insert smilies when typing emails?

For instance, I just sent Matt an email saying that the Sunday forecast for San Diego is now calling for AM clouds (it had been saying sun all day). That really deserves a  or a :cool1: but, alas, Microsoft Outlook does not provide me with such options . . .:confused3

Does that just mean I spend too much time on this thread?

I know EXACTLY what you mean!! I'm always looking for them when I email as well, just to get the point across. Sometimes my humor can be taken the wrong way :confused3 . So glad you're going to have "good" weather to run  . I guess that's the last time we'll hear from you. I'll be sure to check out your bib # on Sunday night!! Good LUCK!!! and have FUN!

Sara - WTH??? I can't believe your Dr. is such a d-bag. And i can't believe that you are in so much friggin' pain. Perhaps you should consult someone else? Just bring all your files, throw them on a desk & ask "what can you do for me?? I need to run a marathon in November...get me there, skippy"! Uh, lemme know how the swimming goes, kay?::yes::

The Happy One - Glad to see you check in :) . I was thinking of you when mowing the lawn today. Only the front, didn't feel like starting the tractor up for the back (sometimes we need to jump it). Usually Bruce does the hand mowing, but since he vacuumed today while I was @ work :rolleyes1 I figured I'd hook him up! Pretty sad when the rugs get so bad that your husband notices!!!

BTW, all drug addicts, hippies & the like are certainly welcomed aboard the "magic bus".:hippie:

:rotfl: :lmao: OMG, I completely agree:smokin: . It reminds me of when Jodi wanted to do that 100 mile relay race:rotfl2: and rent a van.

Jodi - I will be running Philly, without a doubt:banana: . For my running club I had to go to a physical therapy workshop last night and I chatted it up with an easy-on-the-eyes physical therapist who gave me his business card so I am going to get a script to go see him in a few weeks for some therapy::yes:: . He is all about helping me to get me knee tracking properly. I started the steroids this morning so keep your fingers crossed that they knock out the pain:wizard: . Magic Bus:hippie: :rotfl:

Cindy - :lmao: I was sending an e-mail to a friend the other day and I really, really wanted to use a smiley. I have saved them on my computer and inserted them in e-mails before but I use Lotus Notes so I don't know if it'd work with Outlook. Never too much time on this thread:hug:

Philly Fellas - :wave2:

DH has a cycling class at 5:30 this morning so I guess I won't be going out for a walk before work:rolleyes1 . Since I'm on steroid anyways I most likely will get out my heavy weights and work on the muscle mass:hyper: followed by a little Pilates and yoga. Hopefully I will bang out a couple of miles after work:banana: without much pain. It's all good, really:thumbsup2

Hey Bots

Sara - So lemme get this straigt...you're still trying to run during all this pain?? AND pilates...AND...."swimming" ;) . So "what's up" with the new "doc"?:rolleyes1 I can't believe you're on ROIDS!!:rotfl: :furious: :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the feedback on my hippy trip cross country :hippie: . But let me ask you all...how is it pre-supposed that I'm a hippy-chick?? Bruce always says I'm a tree-hugging hemp-chick, especially when I was in high school. But he didn't even KNOW me then :confused3 . Last night he took a big s**t in my Easter basket & talked about gas $ (like you Dave). Like I hadn't thought of that b4. I may just go w/ Spencer & I & leave everyone else at home!!

No running - just walking. I don't have any running on the horizon until July or so. Definitely Pilates and yoga in the meantime with swimming and biking thrown in. The steroids are making me feel real bad today so I'm going to take the day off at this point:( . No new doc, just a physical therapist. They do rehab and help you balance out muscles so the knee tracks better::yes:: .

Maybe the Chi-goodness helped solidify your hippy-chickness... ;) Hmmmm, so nice to know the gas $ talk set you off. Sorry about that - seriously, I would love to do such a trip. I've always wanted to do it. I was kind of more curious as to just how much it would cost. I have no idea how much it would cost to drive cross-country like that, but it would be a cool adventure.

$4/gallon; $3/gal, $2/gal., blah, blah, blah...GO ON THE TRIP! :moped: Just explain you are not investing in some National Park 401K...IT'S A TRIP!; you know: bonding, experiencing stuff (:hippie: ), creating lasting memories, yada, yada.

I spent 2 months travelling across country with 2 friends after college (camped out the whole time except when mooching off friends in large cities); best trip I ever took! Go West tree hugging hemp-chick!

$3.25 per gallon vs. $4.00 per gallon...wait, lemme do some cipherin':teacher: ...that would be $0.75 a gallon more. ..dats nuttin' in the big scheme of things. GO ALREADY!:thumbsup2

OH... YEAH :rolleyes1
Oh wait, wait, I just got back from my run, and I remembered another hippy-chick giveaway (besides the fact that we've met you). You called into the Podcast asking for a place to find organic snacks at Disney. A crunchy-granola giveaway if you ask me... "excuse me, where can I find the organic Mickey Bar in the park? I was wondering if that Dole Whip was made from free trade pineapples?"

Are you kidding me with that crap:rotfl: ? Did Jodi REALLY do such a thingpopcorn:: ? I mean, I've met her and all but the Podcast call in question is way over the top on the hippy-chick scale:hippie: :hippie: :hippie: .

I'll let Jodi explain herself on this one...

Hope you're feeling better Sara. Sorry to hear the steroids are making you feel bad. Hang in there.

Dodo -

1. Go on the trip.

2. I guess my only conflict with the dippy-hippy thing is how Disney fits in. Don't get me wrong, I love Disney as much as everyone else here but it's about as unnatural as you can get. I mean, not even considering mice the size of a Vietnamese woman.

It's the happiest place on earth, not the hippiest (not counting the 60's and 70's section at POP).

Organic Mickey Bars!! Gimme a break!

Rough crowd. Is my face bleeding, or what??? Man I'm takin' a thrashing today. And look who's talking, Colleen. Canadian-farm grown all the way!

OK, I'll admit it, I called in to ask if there was an organic sections @ Publix...But Mikey's right, you can't get more evil-empire money grubbing than Disney, so I can't be TOO far gone.

As far as the trip goes, I'll have to factor in speeding tickets, too. Last time I got one in Nebraska AND Wisconsin!!! Oh, and I got one in Georgia once driving down to the World. ::cop: (how convenient!!!)
