I ran 4 miles today. I really, really did not want to (and neither did my legs apparently) - but I forced myself to because 1) I know it is going to be really hard to find time to run when I am in San Diego for Thanksgiving (I'll be happy if I get 1 run in after the 5k) and 2) I was moving my info from my Polar tracker to marathonguide (where I keep my full running log) and I realized that my shoes that I thought had about 250 miles on them had about 320 (great job of estimating on my part) so I wanted to calibrate my foot pod for my new shoes and take those to San Diego.
How many miles do you all run on your shoes? I've heard around 300 is about right, but I've also heard anywhere from 300-600. I now have my new shoes and 3 other pairs of running shoes with between 320-375 miles on them and I still use all of them for shorter runs. How do you know when it is finally time to say goodbye?
Lou - I hope the race went well, I can't wait to hear the race report!
Jodi - How did the "punishment" miles go?
Dave - I hope everything works out with the grant.
Mike - Thanks for the info on the running store. That is not too far from where DH works so I'll tell him to keep it in mind.
Steve, Colleen, Chester, and Sara - Happy running/walking to all. I hope the weather is cooperating in your respective locations. Its actually great weather here today - it was 55 degrees when I left for my run.

I am happy to say I fininshed in 24:22 (7:48 pace). I'm pretty psyched, seeing as I raced a 10K 3 months ago and averaged a 9:00 min/mi pace. I just decided to go for it today to see what I could do.
.
Congrats to you on your marathon finish!! I loved the race report and so happy to hear all went well despite the less than favorable weather and the groin issue. You should be basking in the afterglow today for sure
.
. Definite kudos for getting back out there Sunday for a sweet run after Saturday was a bit hard for you. Are you resting today
.
. I just can't get my head in the game at this point and I've got a lot of junk going on that I have to deal with so my running has suffered a bit. Saturday's LR was a disaster and I don't know what to attribute it to so I am just putting it behind me. My leg is painful again
. I ran a bit this morning and did yoga but I still have to put in some mileage tonight. So very glad it's a short work week so I'll have some extra time to relax and/or run.
Anyway, we are planning on going to
for it healing quickly.
It really has been perfect running weather here in NC the past month, I think about the awful, sweltering months I spent training for MCM this summer, argh! Now this is the time to be putting in those long runs.
. I hope everything works itself out. We're here for you!
.
. You are going to buy the book for Kathy for xmas, right? Glad she's diggin' the new shoes. Yep, running's definitely an afterthought for the rest of the week.
. Oh, and make sure you wear your medal to Thanksgiving dinner!
. Glad to see you're celebrating Thanksgiving w/ others of "your kind"
, you're my hero!
!
, that's too cool! I haven't been in about 15 yrs., guess a lots changed since then! Don't worry, let you DH run his little heart out, this way you can say "I told you so..." afterwards!!
, having to deal with my family
there better be a detailed report on that trip when you get back.

- I am still working, and have actually been pretty busy lately (which is good). Good job on getting your runs in. Have fun at Martha's Vineyard. Sounds great. Good luck on building up to 5 runs/week. I didn't make it last week since I blew off the weekend.
