Petty's Rookie Driving Experience-awesome!!

these are the words from my dh. he wanted me to be sure to come on the disboards and tell anyone who wants to give their hubbys an early bd or xmas present to go for it. when i was making the trip plans i had decide since he was so good in going to disney again that he deserved something very special. he is a nascar fan so i thought it would be cool for him to do the rookie driving experience . he said yes! which really means he wasn't to enthused about it. : : so i made it for oct 3rd at 7:30 am. the day before we leave for the trip oct 1st ,dh got very sick. well i took his tush to the doctor and told him to give him a shot and lets get going. had a hard time sitting for awhile but we were on our way. then mon came and as soon as he walked into petty's something amazing happened ,he was well. it is amazing how fast a man gets better when there is something he wants to do. he had such a great time and i was the best wife and he has told everyone. : he said this is something he will remember for the rest of his life. so ladies if you want to get in good with the hubby go for it even i had a good time. :

Glad he had such a good time and you are getting all the praise! DH had considered this but when he found out about the $, YIKES! He was worried that it wouldn't be worth the extra $ for the 8-lap package. What did you think about the value? Was it enough "track time"? What is included in the Rookie Package?

We gave this to my dad a few years ago for a xmas present. He though it was an excellent experience. While he was doing his driving I tried the ride along. 3 laps with a professional driver. WOW!! THE SPEED AND THE WAY THE 2 DRIVERS WERE PASSING EACH OTHER WAS JUST AWESOME!! While I can't remember what the prices were,(it was 3 years ago), I would recomend this to any race fans out there.

i paid $361 with the magic card discount and if you have AAA you get more of a discount.yes it is so worth it seeing the look of excitment on his face and listening to him telling everyone what his wife did for him. you enjoy seeing the looks on your childrens faces when they go to disney and see mickey mouse . well this is somewhat like it. i feel its worth it because he will always remember this no matter what. you get a plaque at different prices. we got the one for $69.00. it has the dh inside the car and beside the richard petty car, you get a certificate of completion,a copy of his speeds which his fastest was 122 mph. a car coming on the track caused him to slow down so he got an extra lap. the instructors signed his t-shirt he bought and posed for a pic. they were so nice and helpful. we were there from 7:30 until about 11:00 and we would have gotten out earlier but this one person kept adding more laps. they offer discounts if you want more laps. i had a good time taking pics and spending time down at the pits. thats where you go and watch. dh got to drive tony stewart's car. which is actually a car he drove. all the cars at one time was driven by the drivers. they donate them to petty to save money.

I have - got it cheap last xmas as a present for my mum and decided to do it also. It was ok but not fast enough for me!
