hello!

I tried on my wedding dress on sat and i wore a huge petti coat thingy under the dress that was like a dress by itself. It really helped my dress become fuller, and really fairy tale like.

The lady said it was £70. I think this is kinda expensive for just a bit of material bunched together to help make a dress look fuller. I wouldnt mind if the dress was a bit cheaper, but the dress is already £930, and it would make the dress alone be £1000 without any tiara or veil or under wear.

I am very bad at searching for things. I really try hard too! I just searched on ebay and got annoyed because it wasnt working for me!! I was wondering if anyone knew of any places i could get this petti coat thingy for cheaper? It has to be very big, like im sure she said it was the biggest size petti coat.

Where did you get yours? Is it better for me to get the one from the shop to be safe?

If you didnt get yours from the shop, could you advise me on where you got yours from?

thanks!!

Sadly is that just how much they are, mine was the same price. They can charge that because almost every wedding dress needs one. And if you order from ebay theres a chance that it would be to long/short wrong shade of white etc for your dress :guilty:

Try searching for Crinoline - I bought mine for $30 US from Ebay - so you should be able to get something similar. :thumbsup2

I thought so.. i just thought i could be lucky and get one off ebay.

I suppose if i did get one off ebay for $30 - then its not much if it doesnt match...?

i guess ill just have to buy it !!

i got mine on ebay i think it was £11 bargin and it was perfect for under my dress

Most of them have the option to change the length too. Let us know what you find!

yeah i will ...

i will definately have a look - and i will buy if i find a bargain!!

I'm lucky the shop i'm buying my dress from in lending me a hoop skirt so I don't need to buy one.

eBay has loads of them.

You can get different types such as a hoop skirt

or a crinoline

well i tried on the second one withthe dress- the crinoline. i was massive. I dont know if i have to have the crinoline- i will have to ask.

I might 'barter' with them with this .. if i was to get the tiara and veil from them, i might ask for the petti coat thing free.. or visa versa.. hehe!!

i can only try!!

I also bought my crinoline from Ebay for around $30.00 (which includes shipping) and it was perfect.

well then i might just buy one- its not a lot to loose- plus if it isnt right, then ill just put it back up on ebay again ...?

I just ordered both mine and my daughters from ebay, mine is a 1 hoop with lycra waist band (to hold the tummy in !) including p&p it was £15 - bargain !!
Will let you know what its like when it arrives.

Sarah, was yours a 1 hoop or 2?? or just a crinnie?

Linz xxx :)

mine was 1 hoop at the bottom with a lycra waist band (very tight!) and it had like 2 layers of tulle over the satin hoop bit. very good for the price i paid and did the job i needed it to do kept the dress off my legs which was great

Thanks! Looking at your pictures, your dress is how poofy I would like mine. I ordered a 1 hoop so hopefully it will be fine.

I thought mine was pricey too - until I looked around at some of the other bridal shops. They were over £100-£120 some of them and very cheaply made. Mine is a Jupon and really good quality, and it makes the dress (and me lol) look fantastic.

I tried it on in the shop with my dress and decided to buy it as I know exactly how my dress looks with it.

I got mine from a church sale for $3!!! It is perfect with my dress!! So keep your eyes open you never know what you will find!!!!

I'm going to hijack the thread here... but I need to ask someone's opinion. What do you think about getting a Quinceanera dress (in white) to wear for a Bridal gown? I have been searching and it seems you can get this big beautiful fairytale dresses for nearly half price. But I know I will need a crinoline... which is what brought me to this thread :)

I am getting a jupon one as well. My dress is an Ian Stuart and that is what they use in their photoshoots so I figured that is what I needed to go with.

Go Hoop all the way...no questions! It kept the dress off my legs and was super cool. My dress was big and heavy and I was the only one who didn't complain about heat all day (I just swayed in the breeze a little). I actually had a triple hoop and it made walking so easy. I could just grab the top hoop and off I went. Dancing...garter finding...running...even made the trips to the bathroom simple! :cool1:

I felt like a Small World Can-Can girl (and I was secretly trying to flash the camera with my bright turquoise shorts underwear, ha!)

I think I was Can-Can-ing again.
