Pets around the campground

:) Does it count when DH says "I have pets at Disney-on the savanna, right outside my door." He just loves animals and of course we have a canine daughter (no human children). She loves Disney and would go with us if she didn't enjoy her Nana's house so much. She even smells like Nana when she comes home---she is held the entire time. Trolls don't like dogs. :sad2: She likes hunting for Trolls.

the guy parked next to me in a "non-pet loop" keeps his pretty lab locked up in the camper all day while his family is out at the park. It breaks my heart to hear that poor dog cry all day!

I'm a pet owner and if it happens more than once, and you're not comfortable saying something to the owners (and these days I couldn't blame you for that) I would absolutely call the front desk. And keep calling until they DO something.

I know Disney rules aren't worth the paper they're printed on, but maybe if enough people call to complain about the blatant rule breakers they'll actually enforce one for a change. If for no other reason than to get the annoying "squeaky wheel" people off their backs.

I've also thought of finding some FW "letterhead" for such occasions and leaving little official looking notes on people's doors....

"It's come to our attention that your dog is barking and disturbing your neighbors much of the time you are away. Please note that this is against Disney policy and if it continues you will be required to kennel your dog."

No need to sign it ;)

There goes the neighborhood.

I don't get it. I can't smoke on the property because that would be stinky and offensive to people. But the animals can come and shed all over everything and it's OK.

I doubt many folks have been diagnosed with a deadly diseases related to second hand pet contact.

We went looping thru the camp ground last night and all I could think was what awesome decorate sites the Fort has,,and BEAUTIFUL furry family members (no I'm not talk'n bout Uncle Butch walk'n round with his shirt off) how can any human NOT like these things !!:confused3

oh wait, I forgot, TROLLS aren't human !!

@Caveat - Umm, I hate to break the news to you, but some people do get an asthma reaction to pet dander and asthma can be fatal if not treated immediately. My son is one of those unfortunate humans who cannot go near dogs/cats/horses.

@born 2 fish - I agree, the Fort does look beautiful when she is decorated for the holidays. I also enjoy looping and love seeing families (furry and non-furry) spending quality time together.

That's a bit too sweeping to be accurate. Anaphalyxis due to incidental pet contact is all too real for those severly allergic.

Everyone has their preferences. We camp with our dogs all the time, but they have been known to make enough noise to bother other campers. And, even with that said, pets have no place in hotels or resorts. My opinion only, but no less valid than anyone else's.

To answer the original posters question:

I arrived for a reservation a few days early (with my dog). There were no sites available in the pet loops however there were sites available in the loops without pets. My dog was boarded at the kennel until a spot in the one of the pet loops became available.

Couple of questions out of curiosity...
When was this and did you have a pet loop previously reserved?

Not really "breaking" Anything to me. Wording was specific as I figured someone would chime in. Moving on.....

We request non pet loops because my son has terrible asthmatic reactions to dogs

I think I use that excuse:thumbsup2

We request non pet loops because my son has terrible asthmatic reactions to dogs,

the guy parked next to me in a "non-pet loop" keeps his pretty lab locked up in the camper all day and to hear that dog cry all day!

No one in the sites surrounding us are enjoying the outdoors either because of all the barking.

.

this is my fear, Ill only get to make this trip once, and thats the last thing I want, to hear some dog barking all day.

Its really no different then someone playing loud music all day, its just annoying and inconciderate

I have dogs, I like dogs, I dont want to hear noisy dogs or have to deal with owners that dont pick up after their pet, and that is all to common. I actually had to ask someone, "hey! your not going to just leave that are you?" when his pet delivered a package rt in front of my MH once!

sorry just tellin it how it is

Who cares?

I have noticed that people on this board can be some of the nicest and most helpful in the world but put a small thorn in thier side and watch out.
As I have stated before I have pets but I don't shove them down everyone elses throat. People have the right not to be exposed to pets as well as other things and we as responsible pet owners should honor that.

If you worried about something ruining your trip then I wouldn't go. There will probably be long lines, crying kids, slow transportation, hot weather, and rain. And before you get there you will have high gas prices and lots of traffic.
You will always have good and bad on a trip. I bet you have other memories than the "package" from that trip. Walking in the average shopping center parking lot you will step in spit, bird droppings, oil,and antifreeze. Next time grab the glass that is half full, not empty. :)

blah blah blah............... you missed the entire reasoning of my post. inconcidarat people. not much you can do about the line, the heat, the crowds, the bird pooping, but come on inconcidarate pet owners?

Oh I have tons of memories of that trip and all the other wondeful summer trips, but thats one "package" I wont forget

guess your one of those that dont pick up after your dog huh? carry a little doggy bag with you every where you go do you?

We have been trolled, let's not let them win by going at ourselves. :goodvibes I love our dog, but there are valid points on both sides of this argument. :flower3:

I was just joking with BRDof3...tongue in cheek. He knows that.

I was about to perpetuate the joke with DaveInTN when I saw this. No worries Tigger, that was an inside joke. And besides, he owed me one. :thumbsup2

Sorry for being outside the loop on this one but after reading all the comments from people it just struck me wrong.
Some of these people remind me of the smokers that will blow smoke in your face while telling you that they will smoke where ever they want deal with it. (I work with two of these and unfortunately they are both my bosses). This is the reason in some cities business owners don’t have the right to police it their self they enacted blanket laws for everyone.
All I am saying is just be responsible people and don’t shove your pets or whatever else you like down everybody elses throat. If someone is allergic to dogs or just doesn’t like them they have the right to not have a dog in the room/site next door. An asthma attack or even a barking dog and ruin a well planned family vacation.
