short guy - 7 year old version fo tall guy
photo gal - me
Sunday, April 17 - off to MGM
We decided to take our time getting in to th park today because short guy doesn't like the TOT, RR, ( too scarey), Playhouse Disney ( too little kid), Bueaty and Beast (too girly). We went to Mara, had breakfast and tall guy got anxious, so we ended up going earlier than planned. Lots of people on bus. Lots of people at the gate.
Last time we were at WDW we really didn't spend much time at this park, so we decided to explore a little. Hit Sounds Dangerous- fun. Then short guy spotted the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular and he was off! We sat through the show and I kept hearing things like "cool" and "awesome" come out of short guy's mouth. He loved it! Just enough action and blowing things up to entertain a 7 year old boy. Grabbed lunch at Pizza Planet. Pizza was good, but aparently everyone else thought so too. Very crowded. Tried to hit Honey I Shrunk the kids set but it was full to the brim with people. Thank God for Tall guy-- I can spot him anywhere so that helped. We left shortly. Wondered up to the Lights! Motors! Action! show because the board had posted a show at 1p-- however, when we got there a CM was waiting and telling everyone that the show for the day was cancelled and they were just rehearsing. Bummer- but we will catch it next time. We did get to see a little of the rehearsal from the Backlot tour. Hit Star Tours with our fast pass that we had picked up earlier-- posted wait time was 50 min.
Short guy was in for a big surprise next. We walked out of the backlot and saw the Power Rangers and thier very cool car! Short Guy was captivated! Hit some shops and then headed to Mama Melrose for our PS fantasmic Dinner package-- highly recommended! The food was very good. And I loved that we walked right in later that evening for Fantasmic and had great seats. However, I waited too long to book and all they had available was 4:30-- suggest that you call soon and book a later time. However, short guy ate his dinner, and since we weren't rushed, took a nap while we finished our dinner. Worked nicely.
Caught Mike and Sully-- very exciting since we haven't seen them before. Hit the Little Mermaid since we were just killing time and to my surprise, short guy kind of liked it. He liked the puppet fish the best. Went into the Animation building. Unfortunately the Incredibles were already gone, but we hit the animation class and that was loads of fun! Great take home item-- your drawing--short guys turned out cute and I can't waith to put them into a scrapbook.
Finally-- time for Fantasmic! Great seats, gotta love that dinner package! Sat by some fun people from Boston (Go socks) and had a great time doing the wave before the show. The show was awesome! However, the wind was acting up and the water blew around alot more than it normally does, so everyone got a little more wet than usual. No problem. It does mess up camera lenses though. Awesome show!
Waded through the masses to get out and get back to the hotel.
