Peter pan at rope drop questions

We like to RD Peter Pan. Last trip, we walked into MK at 8:45 on a 9:00 open, and stood to the left of the castle at the path toward Liberty Square. We headed that way when they dropped the rope, and then took the path on the right that heads back to the castle. (The main castle tunnel was still closed off from the opening show.) The path we took was also closed, but it was just a moment before they let us through. If you go through Liberty Square and come around the back, that's fine too, but you're swimming against the traffic when you try to enter the line.

It was very low stress. We were off the ride in roughly 15 minutes. You actually don't want to rush and be the first ones on, because then you kind of rush past the queue. (That has happened to me, and people behind you get annoyed, and there's not much room by the interactive shadow wall for people to walk behind you.)

Not related to your original query but you should really consider renting a stroller for a 4 y.o. if you want to maximize your overall parks enjoyment. At rope drop you will need to take care as people will not be able to see a small child in the crowds in the case of some jabroni trying to rush past you.

Do it at rope drop to enjoy the queue, which is really great. FP skips all of it. At RD most people will be going to 7DMT or the other major rides. After Peter Pan I would head directly to Winnie the Pooh.

Haven't been since they changed the queue. What is so neat about it?
Tinker Bell flies around the room, leaving Pixie Dust in her wake. There's a wall of interactive shadow features that you can play with. Plus, the theming of the kids' bedroom is just very charming in general.
There are videos on YouTube, if you're interested in getting a better idea.

We ate at a PPO BOG this AM and got in line for PP before rope drop. There were probably 15 people before us and we had to walk through the whole inside que. By the time we got off the ride the wait time was 60 minutes. You should be fine if you go right there but don't stop to look/do anything else.

Yeah, if you go straight there from the morning show, you won't have more than a 20 minute wait.

I would get to the park at 8, get breakfast on main st. somewhere, walk around, see sights as much as possible, then head there as soon as the morning show is done.

My opinion would be to do ppf during the fireworks if they’re not a must see. The lines tend to be at least a bit shorter during the fireworks due to everyone watching but if the fireworks are a must see, I would recommend rope drop or getting a fp+. We love ppf and ride it almost every time we’re there, but we always have a fp.

And if Tink is not flying around the bedrooms when you get to them, stand "to the side" and let others pass and wait until she does fly.

Most Guests just keep walking and never see her fly which is the best part of the new Queue.:)

Can I ask a related question? We plan to RD Peter Pan. We will be traveling with a stroller. Is the stroller parking at the carrousel the closest option? Is there a map with stroller parking location?

Your closest stroller parking will either be near the Tangled Restrooms or behind the Carousel, depending on which way you're approaching PP.

So do you all recommend being lined up in the “spoke” of the hub or can one still watch the welcome show and then head to Peter Pan? If will watching the welcome show put you clear behind the pack?

You can watch the welcome show but I recommend getting as close as you can to the ropes near the castle stage. You can still from there but it’s not an ideal view. The further you are back the longer you’ll wait for PP. Probably not a long wait, the line will build fairly quickly.

We did exactly this a couple weeks ago with our 4 year old. We were right up front next to the stage to see the show, and then we went immediately to PP. Walked briskly but didn't run, and we probably waited perhaps 15-20 minutes in line. When we exited, that line was already 60 min standby wait if not longer. We turned our original PP FP+ into a FP for talking Mickey, hence the RD decision. Glad we did, had no issues.

Do they typically let you go through the castle? Will it be obvious if that route will not be open?

What and then everyone goes running like headless chickens

:rotfl2:Sometimes - depending on what's going on in the park. There were infamous runs when 7DMT first opened, and FEA at Epcot, and FoP at AK. I can even remember the Space Mountain runs back in the mid 70's. Whatever the latest and greatest ride is will inspire the runners. I don't even want to think what DHS will be like when Star Wars is finished . . .:faint:

In all seriousness though OP, if you are in the park for the opening show, and go straight to PP first (not running) you should be fine.

They do let you through the castle, just not immediately. Yes, it will be obvious that it is closed. In case you missed my post above... this is what we did. We could see the opening show while we waited. Not the greatest view for little kids, but it was fine.
