We always do PP at RD. I can't bear to miss it, but I also can't bear to waste a FP on it.
Because they literally drop ropes to open it.
Tinker Bell flies around the room, leaving Pixie Dust in her wake. There's a wall of interactive shadow features that you can play with. Plus, the theming of the kids' bedroom is just very charming in general.Haven't been since they changed the queue. What is so neat about it?
What and then everyone goes running like headless chickens
And if Tink is not flying around the bedrooms when you get to them, stand "to the side" and let others pass and wait until she does fly.Tinker Bell flies around the room, leaving Pixie Dust in her wake.

Can I ask a related question? We plan to RD Peter Pan. We will be traveling with a stroller. Is the stroller parking at the carrousel the closest option? Is there a map with stroller parking location?
So do you all recommend being lined up in the “spoke” of the hub or can one still watch the welcome show and then head to Peter Pan? If will watching the welcome show put you clear behind the pack?
You can watch the welcome show but I recommend getting as close as you can to the ropes near the castle stage. You can still from there but it’s not an ideal view. The further you are back the longer you’ll wait for PP. Probably not a long wait, the line will build fairly quickly.

Sometimes - depending on what's going on in the park. There were infamous runs when 7DMT first opened, and FEA at Epcot, and FoP at AK. I can even remember the Space Mountain runs back in the mid 70's. Whatever the latest and greatest ride is will inspire the runners. I don't even want to think what DHS will be like when Star Wars is finished . . .
Do they typically let you go through the castle? Will it be obvious if that route will not be open?
We like to RD Peter Pan. Last trip, we walked into MK at 8:45 on a 9:00 open, and stood to the left of the castle at the path toward Liberty Square. We headed that way when they dropped the rope, and then took the path on the right that heads back to the castle. (The main castle tunnel was still closed off from the opening show.) The path we took was also closed, but it was just a moment before they let us through. If you go through Liberty Square and come around the back, that's fine too, but you're swimming against the traffic when you try to enter the line.
It was very low stress. We were off the ride in roughly 15 minutes. You actually don't want to rush and be the first ones on, because then you kind of rush past the queue. (That has happened to me, and people behind you get annoyed, and there's not much room by the interactive shadow wall for people to walk behind you.)
