PETE went too far re: PETA as Domestic Terrorists

A film is not violent. We know what terrorism is, and a movie isn't it. Calling an animal rights group one doesn't like "terrorists" is a dishonor to those who fight the real terrorists and those who have suffered in real terrorist attacks.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I have mine, you have yours and Pete stated his.

This movie that may or may not have been nominated for anything did do damage to the shareholders of Busch Gardens Sea World. There are untold number of people that lost their retirement plans or even their jobs because of the publicity.

You are right. No nomination for Blackfish. Here is an article talking about the Oscar snub. http://www.ew.com/article/2014/01/24/blackfish-oscar-snub
If I understand correctly, You are willing to admit the movie did not in fact get nominated for an award as you stated, but you have not conceited that Pete should be able to share his opinion.
PETA stands by the freedom of speech, but when anyone does not agree and speaks out, they get blasted for it. I'm too stupid to follow this logic, someone get me whatever this guy is drinking.

PETA may not be a terrorist group like ISIS they do have some questionable practices for example ramming wailing ships. I would say be careful and research everything about any group you donate to and see what gets done with the money they raise. For example a charity called the Human Society of Canada just lost it's tax exemption status because of during an audit they found the owner had used money from the company to uy comic books and pay for his family to go to Walt Disney World.

You may prioritize jobs, others may prioritize values or other things. If we look at everything through a jobs lense we would be doing some pretty crappy stuff as a society. Sad for people to loose their retirement, no one is advocating for that to happen. As Kevin, Pete and the team said. SeaWord did a horrible job responding to threat PR nightmare. SeaWorld holds some if not most of the blame.

There was no winnable response from the SeaWorld PR department. They stumbled and delayed knowing:

1. They still held whales in captivity.
2. They had a trainer die.
3. They make lots of money from the use of the animals.
4. More and more people are concerned and educated about animal welfare.

SeaWorld was in the boxing ring with an opponent that experience will hopefully make SeaWorld a stronger organization that can do even greater things for wildlife and the oceans creatures. There recent changes and the 5% increase in stock prices might just be the return of a better and brighter SeaWorld for everyone.

2. It was unfortunate and sad but from everything I've seen she loved her job and the whales.
3. So does Disney, Busch Gardens, and some zoos.

Not sure what you are talking about. I made a mistake. I admitted it. I believe Pete made a mistake, the question is will he admit it?

Sometimes saying everyone is entitled to their opinions is an very polite or very rude way to shut down conversation. I'm assuming you are the latter.

I was just giving why I thought SeaWorld was in a "box" and had a hard time responding to the media flurry around Blackfish.

So first Sea World did a horrible had a no winnable response. Does this strike a cue?
1. I have a dog in captivity. Dogs were wild animals.
All other of your bullet points have been addressed on podcasts and from PETA, the family of the trainer, and Sea World itself.

I am still missing the point where PETA can put out a movie with actors admittedly portray biologists, but Pete or the Dis can't state their feeling on the matter. Both the movie and the podcast state an opinion and both are not real, the only difference is one is free on youtube and gives some good information, the other is...

I'm wondering why PETA has a right to express their opinions but Pete does not? I could care less about whales, but I am American, and here we get to express our thoughts. If you don't like it, don"t watch it.

I have a legitimate question, and to be honest, I don't care to spend time googling it, so hoping someone has a straightforward answer:
Why are sea world being condemned for all of this but zoos aren't?
Surely zoos fall directly into the same category?
Why aren't the crazy PETA members picketing every single zoo in the world?
