My opinion is if you're planning on buying the magazine you might as well join and get the other perks. If you aren't planning on getting the magazine then stay away. Simple.

I pretty much agree. If I see the publication in barnes and noble and am impressed enough that I want to buy it, I'll sign up. Because who knows what else may come up over the year that you may want?

This is all contingent on the magazine being all that and a bag of chips, though.

I agree that brownies are more in the cake category, BUT (WARNING!!! OPINION FOLLOWS WITH LITTLE BASIS IN FACT - PROCEED AT OWN PERIL!!!!)... Mom always put chopped nuts in her brownies, which moves them a bit more toward the Cookie Category along the great cookie<--------->cake spectrum, IMHO...

You're wrong. Brownies are too thick (in height, not density) to be considered a cookie. Most carrot cake has walnut in, and it is far from cookie status. Your opinion is wrong.

A carrot cake may have nuts and shards of carrot but we do not call this a cookie. It's still a cake.
