Oh YAY! I'm glad you got everything straightened out!!!:cool1:

I would have the same problem, just 1hr. and not 3hrs. and, o gawd, DF. Thanks for posting this because I actually need to have him find his NOW. His house is a MESS (no women live there, if that explains that), so now I pray he can find it. All I can say is at least we both found out w/time to spare. I mean at least your DF can go drive there, and you can ask your parents to look for yours and it's not the moment when you need it. :)

Yeah me too...however, he managed a couple of shopping trips of useless stuff along the way...but stuff he wanted...he deserved it! :thumbsup2

Yeah...find it now! My fingers are crossed for you that he finds it with no problem!

Ok the agenda now...
Lunch then License....Holy cow...I can't believe this is happening!!! :dance3:

awe you must be super excited!!!!! What a pain with all the confusion with the BC. But now thats over and you're getting your marriage license!!! YAY!!!

We got the license! Met with the Officiant. Life is good.
I was super nervous when we went to get the lic. but the woman was awesome...We were there for like an hour-most of it talking about Disney! Then off to the Officiants office. It was great. Very relaxed.
I'm very calm about this now...much more nervous about the interview on Thursday and the certification exam on 11/7...deep breaths...in...out...in...out...

I posted this on the main board and thought I'd post it hear too...

Just an update...DF and I have discussed vows...and have come up with something a bit non-conventional. I'll post them at a later date as they are still in the making.
We both have agreed that our legal wedding needs to be fun...NOT your typical Do you take you to be...blah blah blah. That is the way we want our Disney wedding to be...elegant...dreamy even. But for this wedding the thought of coming up with similar vows that we want to say at our Disney wedding-which we both decided is where our emotional vows will come into play was just daunting. No fun.
My mom has made a big stink that we need to say the traditional vows. Honestly, they aren't HER vows. They are ours. So, our little surprise exchange is not going to be made public. (Luckily, she isn't savy enough to get onto Dis...and even if she is she doesn't know my log in name) So, by the time we say them, she won't have anyway to stop it. :3dglasses

PS Our officiant is cool with it either way. :thumbsup2

oooh, that's an awesome idea! Can't wait to read your legal vows...

I dont think i could write my own vows! lol
Kudos to you two for taking the time to write them. I can't wait to read them!

They aren't really something we wrote from scratch...We took something similar and made it our own...They are still a work in progress...I guess we will see what happens.
So far they are cute...but I'm not sure...I think they need some changes...

I have an interview today!!! Pixie dust please!!! :wizard::wizard::wizard:

Hi Everyone!
So, I stayed home sick today...bad cold...feel like death warmed over...at least I didn't feel this sick yesterday for my interview! Anyway...What is a girl to do while she is home sick??? Catch up on her wedding stuff...
I can't believe that we are exactly 1 month away from our legalization! The vow thing is a bit weird...Let me explain. Our officiant sent us a ceremony. It was really sweet of him to do and when we met with him he told us to add subtract-do what ever we wanted with the ceremony, but felt that people needed a place to start. The funny part was that the reading that DF and I liked...happened to be the same one that I picked from our Jack Pack! (We're saving the reading for our DFTW instead of using it for the legal on) So, as we surf the net to find the perfect vows...we came across vows that were to the tune of Dr. Seuss Green Eggs and Ham. Funny, Cute, and since we really didn't want this to be super heavy...it might work...Well, DF took it and then tweaked it in such a way to fit us...VERY CUTE...Then I started to have second thoughts...this will be the ceremony that his grandparents will be at...if it doesn't go perfectly...I'm not sure I'm going to be able to do it without beign emotional...I don't know...but that is the vow update...its still up for discussion...

NEXT, the bouquet. I think I mentioned that when DF went up to his mothers to get his birth certificate his mother offered up the bouquet that his sister carried for her rehearsal. When he brought it home...it's a little dusty...not sure how to clean that up...and there is a flower missing...

Bouquet

Missing flower

I'm sure filling in the missing flower won't be a problem...but it's dusty...My other thought is that I shouldn't carry anything...again...emotional...maybe just holding dads are is good enough. Mom seems to be cool with that. SO my thought is that we will have the bouquet in a vase with river rocks next to a picture of my grand parents as a memorial...There we go...that is all set.

HOWEVER...If I were to carry it (or make a similar one b/c I like the bouquet...goes with the all white theme) I'd want 3/4 wrapped stems (like my disney one will have) and close it with this...

This is my something borrowed. It was actually at the learning center that I work at from one of the jewelry sales they had. So, I asked if I could borrow it...The director told me I could have it and I said "NO! I need something borrowed!" She was cool with it...So, to incorporate that...

Moving on to some misc. stuff...
Something blue...I'm sticking with my toe ring...I think...I'm not sure how it will work with my shoes..they are a little tight-but fit perfectly if that makes much sense...
IMG_4155.jpg

I have a blue mickey head toe ring for disney...but I'll post that when I start posting for the DFTW...

Earrings are next...A friend of mine got me these for my 30th birthday. I've never worn them...Don't know why..but now is as good of time as any...
IMG_4150.jpg

I'm going to wear my grandmothers bracelet for this wedding b/c we think that with my DFTW dress it will snag on the overlay and ruin the dress...That would be bad...
IMG_4152.jpg

(Everyone is worried about the prongs snagging...I have to say they might be right with that one...)

The girl that is going to make my cake (dark chocolate with fudge center) is going to make a mad hatter cake for us! She said that she has always wanted to make one and this would be her chance! I'm super excited about that! She is also going to do gum paste flowers...

I've found some stamps that I want to make invitations with. I know I know...This was suppose to be small and no bells and whistles...but I have a really cute idea! ANd I need to send on to the president and one to Mickey and Minnie! More on that when I get to that point...I better get there soon b/c there is only 1 month left!!!

:woohoo:

Wow! Everything is really coming together! I'm glad you managed to get all the paperwork rounded up for your license... I'm gonna ask DF where his birth certificate is tomorrow:rotfl: Can't wait to hear these vows you're working on... maybe you should post them so we can help fine tune them;)

I'm really not trying to rain on your parade, but the cake maker I used for my engagement party had never made a mad hatter cake before, and in my mind she still hasn't  it was nothing like a mad hatter, nothing! And I think she made a few attempts and the one that was delivered to my party was the best of the lot... pfft.

Just mentioning it because you said your friend is making your cake for you, and it's her 1st MH, I know she's doing it as a favour to you, and not charging you or anything, but just keep in mind that MH's arn't the easiest thing to do.

Now having said that, if she turns up with a perfect MH for your wedding, and it's her first attempt, I don't want to know about it!! :lmao: I've come to terms with the fact that my cake maker tried her best...

Definitely check and see what FL's requirements are! If DF hadn't done that (allbeit the night before) we would have been up a creek without a paddle!:headache: We also needed picture ID and his divorce decree...Check and double check all the things that you will need!

I appreciate the heads up. I'm cool with it either way. I've seen some of the work she has done and am really impressed. If she came to me with a 2 tiered white cake with gum paste flowers I'd be good with it...our guests would probably look at the MH cake and say "that isn't sitting straight." :rolleyes1 So, really the attempt is more for me than the effect. If that makes much sense!

I just came up with an idea for a "favor" I love the individual teas, but don't want to purchase 30 of them to make a minimum...So, I'm going to make some myself. AUGH! I said I wasn't going to get crafty with this...It's funny...A friend of ours said that we went together like coffee and biscotti...SO...my thought is that I'll do individual tea (most of our guests don't drink coffee) and an individual biscotti in a chinese take-out food box. That plan is still in the works...Since I just woke up and came up with it!

I had the interview on Thursday...it was um...interesting... I honestly have no clue how it went.
I leave for my certification exam on THIS Thursday in NYC...The test is on Saturday...Maybe I'll find some things down there...
:wizard:

Ok...I guess I did post about the biscotti and tea...I found a woman that makes mini biscotti...So, we are getting those (iced lemon) and I'm gonna splurge for a nice box of tea...Big spender here! $4.00 for 12 biscotti and $5.00 for a fancy smancy box of tea...Don't know what the chinese food boxes will cost me...but pennies I am sure...I need to start making a shopping list...

Also, another friend of mine has a die cut that will work to cover the tea bags! :thumbsup2

I spoke with (actually worked with) my home wedding photographer. She is so excited! And it was funny b/c I was telling her she might want to come and take a look at what room would be better to have the wedding for lighting purposes...and she say "Um...I went to school for this...I'm good...No worries." :rotfl: DUH!

Now, I just need to touch base with the girl that is going to make my cake!

I leave for NYC tomorrow. My cousin and I are going to check out some of the craft stores in NYC...including MJ Trimmings which I think Mikkel suggested (where is her PJ been lately??? :confused3)

I take my test on Saturday...fingers crossed that I pass...I should be ok...:thumbsup2 More when I get back...hopefully with more pics!

That's good to know. It sort of annoyed me with mine because I had researched all of these companies that were going to do my cake for me, and I was fine with paying about $400 for it, but mum told me to come and see this friend of the family, and she offered to do it for $100, so I jumped at it. Hindsight is 20:20 and I should have gone with the more expensive option, but it doesn't matter much now...

I like your favour ideas! It's very cute!

Good luck with your test! I hope you sail through it! Have a great time in NY and let us know when you hear anything about your interview!
