Ok, So, I've been waiting to write this...but if I wait any longer I'm going to forget all the events. Unfortunately I only have these 2 pictures. I should have more tomorrow of the new dress...but don't want to post them b/c I'm afraid of some lurking eyes...Sometimes I think DF has found Dis and other times...I'm not sure he knows the boards exsist...I don't want to chance it.
Anyway...Last Friday I met mom and dad downtown...They were already at the bridal shop...and dad was all upset b/c he didn't have batteries for his camera...Since this was the case, the owner of the shop told dad where he could get batteries and said that by the time they got me into my gown he would be back...Mom and I did a quick once over for a "legalization gown" but didn't find anything 1. Cheap enough and 2. that we likes...Oh my the bridesmaid dresses in white or even off white were HIDEOUS! Bad Bad Bad...No good.
So, I got into my dress...I explained to the girl that was helping me that I wanted pics of my dads first look...hmmm...yeah she didn't do so well with that...His first look, his jaw hit the floor...Seriously, jaw went slack and everything...Here are the pics that she got of him...
This is what dad looked like just about the rest of the time we were in the shop...
My dad has the rest of the pics...I mean seriously...He took pictures of EVERYTHING...
We figured that the tiara that I was soo worried about wearing...WORKS! My grandmothers bracelet works as well...HOWEVER...We are very afraid that it will snag on the overlay of the dress and that would be a disaster. The woman at the bridal store said "It's a beautiful bracelet, and no, it doesn't touch the dress now...but you're not in the middle of the frenzy of the day..."I hate to admit...She's right. The one moment I'm NOT paying attention, I'm going to end up with a major snag in the dress...OK...So, I'll wear the cinderella swavoski one I have. Done.
They chose a veil for me...and I loved it!...and I told them "I don't want to love this one...I want to use my moms." I also didn't want to spend $250 for it!!!

We are still going to see how my moms will work out...and if not..I might try to find something on ebay...or one of the various internet site in the bridal bargains book...it's just that $250 is a lot to spend for tulle and crystals...but it glimmers just the right way with the dress...*sigh*

We picked out shoes (the knot ones earlier in this PJ) and picked the dye for those...(called ivory towers)
We put the dress in mom and dad's car...and we were off for dinner.
On the way home, I stopped to get DF a pizza...and then remembered that the last day of Davids Bridal $99 sale was on Monday (all of this took place on Friday Night) So, I call my mom and ask if she could make it on Sunday...Then, we decided since DB is open until 9PM that we would just go that night...I called DB, got an appt, and called DF to tell him I'd bring his pizza, but was going with mom to get another dress...

He was cool with it.
I get mom and she tells me that they (mom and dad) don't want to hold the wedding on a weekday b/c they have to work. Um 11/30 is a MONDAY...DF wants to keep it that way so that our DFTW is on 11/30 and it will be our 1 year anniversary...I end this conversation quickly...Mom said the date is negotiable...When I talked to DF he said the date is ABSOLUTELY NOT negotiable...I told him to take it up with my mother...I'm not getting in the middle of that one...YIKES!
We get into DB and it seemed like forever for someone to tell us how they "work." So, we go and pick 3 dresses...Tried them on...they all sucked..BAD...Really bad...very bad...no good...

We go off and get 3 more dresses-all ball gowns...The first was ok..not super thrilled but in a pinch would work...The second one...better...just needed the straps pulled up some... the 3rd dress I loved

the bodice was all beadwork. The dress was an a-line...and then it had an organza overlay with pick-ups...The exact dress I wanted had I NOT gotten the dress I had...(I feel like I'm cheating on my dress...even though I love my dress) Every time I came out my mother would say -in a pretty criticizing manor."Nope, that's too much." To the point where the other MOBs were looking at it...This basically caused my mother to explain the whole story...Short short version...then all the other mothers understood. We also had to explain this to the woman that was helping us...I told her about a dress I had seen and I wanted to try it on but I didn't want to order it...nor did I want to pay an arm and a leg for it...I described it to her and she said show me...So, I brought her to the one I wanted. She asked what size the dress I was wearing was. It was a 6!!! She went and got the same dress in my size. My next question was, what is the price...Well, with sale it was $249. With my gift card from the bridal show it was $199. I tried it on and all the woman kept saying "that is your dress." I loved it...if you want to check it out...It's Galina T9337..all it needed for alterations were bra cups. I had a bit of a uni-b@@b going on...the bra cups defined it some.It is adorable! I love it! We got shoes too. I'm going to make my birdcage veil and get some flowers for my hair and voila! The look is done!
I will post more pics as soon as I get them!
WOOHOO! It's all coming together...only 45 more days! Ok off to bed...its been a long day!
