Petals & Pixie Dust Planning Journal 11/30/2009/2010

Oh I like those hairstyles! Very nice. 1.5 years is plenty of time! Hmm...the veil is tricky. Maybe over the bump of 1/2 up, 1/2 down

I'm thinking either over the bump or under the bump...I'm not going to use the blusher. I guess I have to see how the veil turns out first! Still need to work on that...LOL :rotfl:

They are nice hair-do's.

I tried to have my hair like that for a wedding before, but as soon as you put curlers or tongs near my hair they turn into the tightest little curls up around my face. It still looked really nice, but it wasn't what we had in mind... :rotfl:

I think my hair is just overly responsive :lmao: my hair was actually really long at the time too, so it's not like it didn't have enough weight to it or anything.

Oh, I love all of those hairstyles. Very beautiful!! It's a hard choice as to which one I like more...

My hair is naturally curly. So, when you bring a curing iron to it takes the curl-but can flatten also...So hair spray is a must!!!

Thanks. I think I'm going to have the combine the parts of each one I like (the wavy front and the curly back)

Now to grow out the hair...:thumbsup2

So, continuing with the "it's better to be wedding planning than waiting by the phone" theme. I bring to you my shoe options.

I want to keep the heel low. I had knee surgery a few years back and super high heels give me bad knee pain...No good. So something short works best.

Shoe #1

Shoe #3 (this one might be too high)

I'm thinking I like #1 more...but not sure...

I also found my tea party favors.

They are purse valets. I think they are great! Small, easy to pack. It works.

I also spoke with a local embroidery place today. DF needed some shirts logo'ed up. I'd like to do golf towels for the guys for their golf outing, but Disney Shopping prices are crazy! Especially for something that is going to get ruined by mud. So, I asked him if he could do something say...with a golf ball and have the 3 circles in a triangle for the shading :rolleyes1 (no hidden mickey here....) He said that would not be a problem. So, we will see on that. He said for those the prices really depend on the thread count of the design. The ball would be expensive if it is filled in, but they were willing to work with me on the price so that I would have something that I love. So, that is a possibility.

Thats all for now. Off to make an inspiration board...Why not! All my cover letters are waiting for a proof read anyway...:surfweb:

So, how is that everyone can ask all the right questions to get to a WC and I can't! I just got off the phone with DFTW's and every EVERY question I had was answered with "You'll speak to your wedding coordinator about that." BUT NO OFFER TO HAVE ONE CALL ME BACK. Just my luck :guilty:

Oh well. I'll just keep planning and work on a revised plan to get sent to a WC. :surfweb:

The Shoe Tally
1 for #1
1 for #2

LOL :rotfl:

I'm voting for shoe 2...

Maybe you could try calling and just saying "Hi, I'd like to speak to a wedding consultant please" and see what happens... :confused3

Geez...I hope I get a job soon b/c I'm not making any money planning this wedding! But heck! I'm getting a lot done!

So, DF has been looking for rings. Now, it's really no secret DF and I usually have conflicting tastes when it comes to certain things...the e-ring was a prime example. We went back and forth and forth and back and ended up with the ring that he liked originally. Ok Ok..I'M STUBBORN! I admit it. I'm not ashamed of it...but seriously...I'm wearing this ring for the rest of my life. I want it to be the right one. Needless to say I love my e-ring. Which looks like this:

So we thought we would bet something from T&Co...Just the bands from their Lucida line. Ok I'm cool with it...but my e-ring has an X prong, so it sticks out a little. DF wants to get me a wedding band that has the bump in it to accomodate for the X prong. I hate these...rings twist and turn and I am convinced that the wedding band won't sit perfectly all of the time. To which my mother says I can sauder the two together and my reply is absolutely not! :snooty:

So, DF continues on his search and the other day calls me and says, "I found our rings! The one I found for you will match your band perfectly. It's from the same place we got your e-ring." I ask him to describe it to me and when we met up he shows me this:

Um. No. I don't even like it a little. DF says, "Yeah but you didn't like your e-ring at first either when we were looking at them and this will match your ring perfectly." When I bring up the twisting issue he says, "They will match up perfectly they won't twist." (yeah right what ever) I'm not thrilled with the 2 diamonds on the side. Who does that...it just doesn't have a design. Not to mention it would only have 2 diamonds on one side...then the two diamonds on the e-ring and then nothing on the other side...no symmetry...the whole thing just doesn't look right to me. Again, I will tell you I AM STUBBORN...and picky...:rotfl2:

DF shows me the ring he likes...

Not what I would have picked out...but not bad. He likes it. He has to wear it. I'm cool with it.

So, I figure I can compromise. I can at least see if the jeweler can get me a photo with the rings together, right? WRONG.
I email them asking for a photo...and 48 hours later have not heard anything back-their website says if you don't hear back in 24 hours to call them. So, I do. I kindly ask if I could see a photo with the two rings together. The guy on the other end of the phone says he got my email and that he was working on it. Would have been nice to get an email saying that. Fine. I'll be in NYC in November. I can make an appointment to see the setting then in person. Nope can't do that either. They are an online dealer and other than loose stones they don't have a showcase. OK. Fine. I'll wait for your reply even if it isn't in a timely manner. What ever.

So, I FINALLY get an email from him that states:
We do not currently have any images of these bands together. However, rest assured that they are a perfect fit, and rest beautifully next to one another. If you are not fully satisfied with the combination, you can return it for a full refund within 30 days of shipment.
Thank you,

(and he doesn't even bother to sign his name)

"Rest assured that they are a perfect fit and rest beautifully next to one another" :scared1: Seriously??? Um hey ding bat. I'm sure you think your work is beautiful...but I want to see if it is beautiful on my hand! Not just some random Hey...let my DF purchase this to see if I like it and let you gain interest on his $$$ until we return it.

Honestly, how hard is it to photoshop this. Even more honestly...I don't know what happened to your customer service-which was great when we purchased my e-ring...Grrr... and I have to purchase DF's wedding band from you b/c he likes it. So, I can't even impose the "not purchasing from you b/c you suck" rule. :furious:

I really find thing rather comical...and very typical of DF and me. I love how our personality shines through even while planning...:cloud9:

I sent my boyfriend the Lucida engagement ring link multiple times as hints! :rotfl: Very pretty rings! ;)

So what kind of band do you want? Simple metal? Or do you want some stones on it?

Any word on your job? It's getting to the end of the month...

We've tried the Lucida band and against my e-ring it looks great. I think I kind of want just a plain metal band. Just incase I end up with a job where it wouldn't be a good idea to wear my e-ring. (DF says this is just me trying to get out of wearing a band he picks out :rotfl:) I really don't know. I'll know it when I see it.

Nothing yet. *sigh* Keep the pixie dust coming...pixiedust:

Can't wear it... do you play with chemicals like I do?! :rotfl:

OK so...the planning continues today...DF doesn't get out of work until 8pm. This is weird b/c he used to work nights...Now days...this is a switch for us...but I'm waiting at home for my man to get here so I can make him dinner and go to bed b/c we both have to be up in the AM. Saw the idea on the knot and love it. I'm getting them from here: http://www.uniq-exp.com/home.htm
5. Invite Idea: Box full of stuff!
6. Something Old: Grandma's bracelet (which I'm pretty certain I'm gonna wear whether it is too much or not...)
