Ok so this is a funny story...and wedding related...so even more worth a post...
When things were getting really serious about getting a ring, my mom and I made a Wedding Fund Jug (posted previously in this PJ) We had a great time doing it and it accumulated pretty quickly. *word of warning-it was a 10 gallon water cooler jug-getting dollars out of it was tricky...* This stayed at my parents house and we all contributed our change to it. DF did not know about it b/c I didn't want to look eager
At my apartment with DF we had a crayon bank that stood probably 2.5-3 feet tall. We contributed to that...minus our quarters b/c we needed those for laundry (although I did my best to stash mine in there as well as at my parents house...

)
When we started talking about bumping up the wedding-we started counting it. My mom had a day off from work so we spent the day counting it up.

We rolled it

and counted it up...We didn't do too badly.
Then, I started counting the crayon bank money up at the apt. Mind you...it was full!!!

I sorted it, counted it, rolled it and counted the rolls. Again, painful-but easy enough.
Half way through this adventure, I decided to get one of those coin counter roller bank deals. I figured $30 would be worth it. The first one we got couldn't count. So, I brought it back and get the more expensive one...That could count, but couldn't sort and was not accurate. We had had it an hour. I went to bring it back and could not find the flipping receipt...Anywhere. I panicked. DF and I searched everywhere. Retraced steps. Everything. It was no where to be found. I was getting upset and worried. I didn't want to be out the money for a piece of junk that did not work.

I go back out side and happen to look up at the road-for what ever reason and there is a very white piece of paper against the road across the street. IT WAS THE RECEIPT! Thanking everything thing under the sun...I took it back and continued the painstaking job of counting and rolling.
They used to make you write your name and phone number on the rolls. I had done that to about 1/2 of them. Well, I went to the bank today and asked if they needed my name and number on the rolls. The teller says "No, but you can use our coin counter over there in the corner." WHAT!

So, I told her that I had asked like a year ago and they didn't have one. She said it was new and that I could bring my coins in, the machine would give me a receipt and then from there I could bring the receipt to the teller and they would either deposit it or give me cash. SERIOUSLY!

Oh not happy. All my work...for no reason.
So, I call DF who just laughs b/c honestly what else are you going to do! So, he says, "Go ahead and unroll them so your info isn't on them and then bring them it." I took 3 grocery bags of change to the bank. They weren't full but they had to be double bagged so they wouldn't break. When I walked in and asked the guy where the machine was...he got a good giggle out of it...and didn't even bother trying to help!
So, I put it in the machine and a few minutes later voila! I had my receipt. I bring it to the same teller that I worked with this morning....She just got a good chuckle out of it...
In short...DF's band is paid for.

In change...

but it's paid for...
So, now it's back to filling the change jugs...Next time I think I'll shoot for an Alaskan Cruise *gasp* I know NOT Disney?!?!? We've always wanted to go on an Alaskan Cruise. It will take us awhile to save...but it was worth it in the end!
