Any one care to share their experiences with using a pet subscription boxes?

Curious as to how often you received boxes, if your pet liked what was in the box and if you feel you received value for the money spent.

Thanks for any feedback!

My mom does Bark Box. The toys are great. The treats tasty. My biggest issue is that they are mostly training treat size and I would rather have a big bigger.

We got a good deal one year for Black Friday for a 6 month subscription but I didn't renew it. Our miniature dachshund chewed up everything in a day and when I reviewed the items, they called me and switched her to the stronger toys. Those held up much better.

Never tried it, but they remind me in general of all of these 'subscription' type services now being offered. I think the initial projections of how many people will actually signup and remain as ongoing customers is over stated. Many other competitors jump on the bandwagon thinking it's another of those 'can't lose' businesses. In the case of these treats for animals (or even the snack ones for people) usually are pricey for what you get and very few repeat customers. Clearly you have to pay for the labor/overhead to put the packages together as well as the cost of shipping. The tiny packages of treats aren't worth the price. Maybe something you buy one time as a gift for a friend/relative, but not anything you would generally do on an ongoing basis.

Remember when "Blue Apron" was one of those 'can't miss' companies? Now seems they are closer to bankruptcy then being a success.

A friend of mine gifted us one Bark Box for Christmas last year, it was a Home Alone themed box that she knew I would love. The treats were themed as well as the toys and the box itself.

I thought it was super fun and my dog still plays with the Harry & Marv squeaky toys every day, but I'm way too frugal to subscribe to things like that on a monthly basis.
