Hi...we have an interesting problem. We have a visit to Old Key West scheduled in December. We're trying to meet up with friends who will be traveling through during that time. They wouldn't be staying overnight, this would just be for a few hours. The complicated part is that they will have a dog with them.

So are there places we could get together with them...either on Old Key West grounds or elsewhere...that the dog could be included?

Pets are not allowed at any Disney/DVC resorts. They could board the dog for a few hours at one of the Disney kennels.

From the Disney website:

Kennels
Kennels —operated by Best Friends Pet Care, Inc.—are located next to Disney Theme Park entrances. Except for service dogs for Guests with disabilities, pets are not permitted in the Disney Theme Parks, Disney Resort hotels or on Resort Transportation

Well, that's not what I wanted to hear, but I guess it is what it is.:headache:

Thanks for the replies!:flower3:

Last holiday season, Downtown Disney allowed dogs on a leash to visit and take photos with Santa and walk with their owners from the Westside to the Marketplace. It was dubbed "Santa Paws". They even had doggie areas with fresh water and "doggie bags" in case they were needed.

I was at Downtown last weekend and asked Guest Services if dogs will be welcome again this year. Unfortunately they are not. :sad1: Only service dogs are allowed in the Downtown Disney area.

We kenneled our dog at Animal Kingdom (Best Friends) last Christmas and we checked him out a couple of times to take him for walks at Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. There is a kennel there also and they have a larger grassy area. (not gated)

He could be a day guest at the Kennel, but I would call for a spot right away. They were booked solid last Christmas.

There are a couple restaurants in Celebration, Fl that welcome friendly dogs on their patios. There are also nice areas to walk and visit.

Celebration is just South of WDW.
