"Personally, I think I would make a great stripper!" 8/10 The End

By now I'm sure you're family is all together, and I know you're happy about that!

I'm quite happy myself right now, I was able to add free dining to our ressie at Pop in September!! We upgraded to the regular dining. I was really hoping we would be able to keep our Pop reservation, but a lot of people were saying it might be sold out, lucky for us it wasn't!:cool1:

we bought a DVD burner between 100 and 200.

it is great, all of home videos, old VHS, even stuff from our DVR we burn to it.

pretty easy to use as well...instructions are good with it, but basicily, you plug the cables from whatever device you are reading the info from straight into the DVD burner and the cables from teh burner then go to the TV hit play on the device and record on the burner, very easy to use.

ours even has a chapter listings it makes for things so you can skip to moments.

great way to save the family memories, i hear you can record the kids shows from TV for our little guy to watch in the car while traveling.;)

That's what I was thinking, too. Hope they made it home safe. And it's a good thing they made it out of SC before the bad weather hit last night & this morning. We've had some terrible thunderstorms and it's supposed to get worse. The system that went through TN. is headed this way, but it's not supposed to get as bad here as they got it there.

Also sent you another PM.

Yet another lurker coming out of the woodworks! Great trip report! Can't wait to read more....

I'm glad everyone is home now and I hope Carsyn's knee is feeling better! Taylor and Ben sound like wonderful dating partners for your kids. :goodvibes

The Biltmore is so pretty ... my parents took us when we were kids but we didn't really care about the inside, just wanted to go outside and run around on the lawns....

#1 I did go to the YMCA for 1 full hour of water aerobics from 8-9.

#2 Then went to the laundromat and dried clothes for 2 hours with Treyner because our washing is quick but drying 9 loads will take forever and upon asking Treyner, found out he had only done wash 2 TIMES while at Anderson. :scared1:

#3 Spent the rest of the day with Treyner shopping for some new polo's and jeans, went with Dad to get fitted for new leg ( they moved his appointment up!) picked up Carsyn for Doctor at 4 p.m. and just got home.

#4 Carsyn has MRI scheduled for tom - the Doc does think she may have a torn ACL. Even if not torn - she will not resume rugby and soccer for the summer is out as well. The Doc thinks 6-8 weeks to heal her knee enough to run on it and not worry about getting slide tackled etc., and that is if there is no surgery.

#5 Oh yeah - Baylor had ortho at 4:15 also...almost done with braces!! :woohoo:

I am spent. Tom morning I am home. Not going anywhere at all and Treyner is working at my moms all day so I am free to write and write till my fingers fall off! :worship:

Of course that is what I thought my day would be like today! :rotfl2:

Phew, what a busy day! Glad your dad had his appt moved up! Do I hear an update coming tmr?

Fingers crossed for no tear, and no surgery!

Ahhhh... the joys of motherhood! I too have days like this. Lately it seems like there is somewhere we need to be every night! I wouldn't have it any other way. My DS is a senior next year and I teary eyed just thinking about it. Even though I complain about all the running we do, I think I'll miss it when there gone. :guilty:

Hey Dawn - have not been around been crazy as always. Love the updates!! I could compare crutch pics with you. Alyssa sprained her ankle at her fathers, of course he did nothing, so I took her to the ER. Crutches and ankle brace for her. I took pics of her in the wheelchair at the ER - I should post them - if I knew how. Nothing new with court - doing a lot of paperwork, call me we can catch up!

Hope Carsyn and Treynor are ok, and I hope your dad does well with his new leg. Good for you with the garage sale:woohoo: - I am jealous - I don't have that kind of time of motivation!:rolleyes1

Can't wait for the next update!:cool1:

sorry to hear about your daughter's knee - my youngest (16) son is a football player, first game of the season this past August, going for his third tackle (the field was in terrible shape) his foot planted and his body turned to run but foot stayed planted in turf and the next thing we know he is laying out on the field. turned out he tore his ACL and medial meniscus but because his knees and legs were so strong he had no instability, no bruising, no symptoms of a tear even though MRI said he did, so he did rehab and then hurt his knee again in gym class and he had surgery this January - even his orthopedist was surprised there was a tear because of his lack of symptoms - but he has had a great recovery, did more rehab and is working out with the team to keep strenghtening it - he wants to play football again but this year, I'll think he'll not be playing quite so aggressively (which is fine by me!) but when he first got that diagnosis of a tear, I could see him trying not to cry because he thought his "football life" was over, but now the end of the tunnel is here and he is almost back to normal. Tell your daughter to stay positive.

New to Dis and the TR area... been reading and enjoying the past couple of days. Sorry if I'm a bit behind and "lurking" but so much to read and catch up on that it is hard to find time to write a reply. Thoroughly enjoying your stories though.

Hi Dawn, You poor girl! I hope Carsyn's knee diagnosis is not too severe. A boy that works for me had torn his ACL playing football and it is so painful. I am hoping for the best for her.
Yeah for Baylor getting his braces off-he looks so cute with them on. It is so nice when they come off though!
Yeah for an hour at the Y!

Hi! I've been out of the loop for awhile because things have been crazy. Being in my last semester of grad school really stresses a person out...:scared1: But thankfully, I have one final (which really doesn't matter because all of my required classes have been taken) and after this Saturday, I will officially have a master's degree and be free to read TRs more. :cool1:

Anyway, I'm glad Treyner and Dan made it home safe. I live in Nashville, so I know they probably had tons of issues coming through here with all of the flooding. I consider myself lucky to not have any damage or issues, but things have been crazy.

Sorry about all the injuries and sicknesses...hope everyone gets back to 100% soon! :goodvibes

Girl, your life needs to take a valium. :lmao:

Sorry so much craziness is flowing in your direction. Hope it all smooths out soon. Glad to hear that Taylor and Ben fit in with the family. My oldest nephews are 15 and one is already bringing a girlfriend to our family beach weekend this summer. Seems like just yesterday I was bringing my first boyfriend to a family function. Time flies!!

Exciting times for your family! Just where in the south are you guys looking at relocating too??

If you ever want a tour of Texas, holler!! :goodvibes

Hang in there!

I tore my ACL my senior year in high school (I was just walking and pivoted and it popped - I had weird knees to begin with) and it took an MRI after about a month of pain for them to think it was more than a sprain because I was walking on it with no problem other than when I would turn. My dr at the time thought at most it was an MCL tear but sent me to an Orthopedic Dr and scheduled an MRI. The Ortho didn't think it was anything major until he looked at the MRI results and it completely surprised him. I had to get a donor tendon because of my previously mentioned bad knees not having a decent tendon to use. It took several months to find one and I tore my miniscus in the process. Physical Therapy is the key to getting the strength back, I quit doing the exercises too soon and never got all of my strength back. Tell your son to keep working it out and good luck!

Thanks for writing - You are right about the PT - he lost most of his quad strength after surgery, but he did PT for about 5 or 6 weeks and now he is back working out with the football team - we are lucky in that our team trainer is a PT - he called my son's post surgery PT, got her treatment plan and my son does his regular work outs plus does his knee regimen. Not to take over this thread - but another teen I know tore her ACL playing soccer, had repair, re-tore it when she went back to play too soon (at the urging of her coach ) and had to have a second repair with a cadaver donor and her's is not 100%. I do agree that therapy after surgery is really, really important.

Hi Dawn! I hope all is well with you and your family, and that you are enjoying time with Treyner now that he is home. How is Carsyn's knee healing? Is her prom this weekend? I can't wait to see her dress! Looking forward to reading your next chapter!
