"Personally, I think I would make a great stripper!" 8/10 The End

nutmegg: I saw that too! Sooooo sweet! (and totally crazy :confused3)

Dawn: I am :scared1: that you had 6 people in one room at POP!!! How on earth did that work?

Did you know that we have a Nike outlet outside of Madison? Its about halfway in between Madison and Milwaukee. With all your driving I'm sure you'll pass it eventually!

Remind me to never make you mad haha :rolleyes1

Your episode made me laugh. I could totally picture you doing that. Now me, on the other hand, I apparently am one of the only people on this planet whose body skipped over the road rage gene. I very rarely get mad at people on the road, and it would have to be REALLY extreme for me to act out. Now, I'm not saying I'm perfect, there are definitely a couple of times I may have saluted other drivers with a single digit.

I've only eaten at WPE once. I had the kids cheese pizza (that's how long ago it was), and I have this weird habit of not eating the crust but I have to leave it on the plate in the shape of the pizza, so by the time I'm done I have an empty ring of crust. The waiter gave me a weird look when he came to pick up my food.

Ok, before I read your latest update, I just wanna let y'all know that I'm making the banada bread tonight!

Will post some pictures up later. Wish me luck!

Dawn -

Great side trip to Vero! We had our first DVC stay there and it was so wonderful. Sorry the beach was closed, but I think the pool was awesome! However, I got whiplash on the slide and will probably never do a pool slide again! :rotfl2: That was two years ago and I still haven't worked up the nerve to go on another slide! :scared:

I can't believe you jumped out of that van! You rock! That is something I would do (and have). It reminds of a story - when I was taking my kids home for the pediatrician (they were little and still in a car and booster seat). There was a car tailgaiting me and they were holding a unrestrained baby IN THE FRONT SEAT! I kept looking in my rear view mirror and picturing this baby flying through the windshield.

AT a light I finally jumped out of the car and said, "Do you want a car seat, cause I have an extra one in my car (which I did) and I will happily give it to you if you please stop holding that baby in the front seat of the car. Do you have any idea how DANGEROUS that is??????? If you had to slam on your brakes that baby could fly through that window." They looked at me like I had four eyes, but Come 'on....how stupid can you really be? Oh...and for the record....they declined my offer of the car seat.

So props to you for getting in that women's face!!!!! It's distracting and its downright dangerous!

More great pics! I love seeing pics of your kids, especially the 2008 to 2010 pics! Nice!

Ok, I put the mix into the oven for an hour. Was reading the update as I mixed :thumbsup2

I wasn't sure when to put the bananas and sour cream in.... So I tossed them into the wet before adding the dry.

Here are some pictures of the process:

Mmmmm, mashed 'nanas. Huh...does that sound wrong? mashed nanas?
SSPX0150.jpg

The dry stuff, before the sifting. Couldn't find the sifter so used my veggie strainer. BAD IDEA. Gonna get me a real sifter.
SSPX0151.jpg

I bought walnuts instead of pecans cause it was half the cost! I'm a student, let me be cheap.
SSPX0152.jpg

All of them together, before the big mix, with the notebook I wrote the recipe in. I took all these pictures with my cellphone (because I don't have my own digital camera. SHOCKER, I know), so it wasn't easy trying to make them all fit.
SSPX0154.jpg

After putting them in the oven...remembered to take a picture. I put them in cupcake cups so it's easier to share. Would that be ok?
SSPX0155.jpg

I hand mixed everything. I've been asking for an electric hand mixer for my birthday since 2003. But nobody takes me seriously!

My mom DID take me seriously when I asked for a Magic Bullet set for my birthday one year, and a sewing machine for Christmas for the year before that =D

Anyways, I swear I saw the Booger today. Except it was in beige.

About that lady in the traffic. WOW. You did exactly what I would never have the guts to do. Some people just need to be told off a bit. I mean, that's such dangerous driving!

Wow, 6 in a room??? One time at a convention, we were able to fit 10 of us in a room! We didn't sleep very well....

Can't wait to try my banana bread muffins!

EDIT: I'm done!
SSPX0156.jpg

Um....I hope it's supposed to be that dark....The aroma was HEAVENLY while it was baking. Can't wait to try it after it's cooled a bit

EDIT 2: Ok...not a great idea. Should've taken them out after 45 minutes. The top is pretty crunchy. On the other hand, it tastes really good It's interesting, cuz the top is crunchy, but the bottom is soft and chewy. Makes a good cookie, kind of? And the little banana bits are really yummy to bite into.

Next time, I'll just put it in a loaf pan....

I have to respond to everyone later - heading out to take Carsyn to her ACT testing! :worship: Please Pray.

Yuki - You can make them as a muffin mix - you just have to test them often to make sure the center is done. I would have probably started testing at 30 minutes and kept testing every 3-5 minutes from there. Less batter in one location (ie a bread pan vs muffin tin) means less time to bake.

It takes more time in a bread pan simply because the center is thicker (more batter.) It also will depend on what type of cookware you use. I have silicone pans and they cook at a different rate than a tin pan would. The cooking time is always just a suggestion - I rarely find it dead on. The above mentioned plus each stove's temp is a bit different, means plus or minus minutes or sometimes even temperatures that need to be adjusted. Since the banana bread only cooks at 350 - highly doubtful for it, but sometimes things a recipe says cook at 425, does better at 400 in mine.

I also use walnuts a lot if I don't have pecans or depending what is on sale! :thumbsup2 Pecans go on sale during holiday times usually so I stock up and freeze bags for later use.

As far as putting in the sour cream and banana's - they usually go in last, before the pecans/walnuts. So cream the eggs, sugar and butter together, then add the dry ingredients in the batter, then add the bananas/sour cream/vanilla and after that is all mixed through, add the nuts.

How they turn out also depends on how over-rip the bananas are. The more brown the better. Often I let them go brown, then put them in the freezer and take out 3 at a time depending how many loaves I am making. Then, the other trick is to use them when they are just thawed, not when they have thawed plus some, because when the liquid starts to leak from them if they over-thaw, it changes the density of the bananas and thus the liquid amount for your mix.

Using ripe bananas that are not brown, does the same thing. They are ripe and still firm so they are not as mushy and do not add the same liquid content to your batter needed for mixing and proper setting while baking. Plus ripe bananas doe not have the same flavor as over ripe bananas. One is great for eating and one is too strong for raw eating but makes fantastic flavor while baking.

Hope that makes sense. Now I have completed my first dissertation in bananas 101. :rotfl2:

BTW - I thought the strainer was a brilliant idea!

Wow..that's great! You would def survive here at the Jersey Shore!

I will let you know if I ever decide to move there! :lmao:

Saw it too! awesome!
I agree with afwdwfan

Brake Check!:rotfl2:

Can't stand people like that. You always wish there was a cop around. Of course when you don't one around they are there to catch.
Rhonda
I have never been in a situation when you do a brake check or move over, they do not back off because they realize how dangerous their driving is.
That was HILARIOUS ROTFLMAO funny!!!

Go Dawn!!!!
I am renting myself out as a bouncer now. :rotfl:
Dawn: I am :scared1: that you had 6 people in one room at POP!!! How on earth did that work?
Dan and I, Treyner and Baylor, had a pull out for Carsyn/Taylor and a bed on the floor/next to the bathroom wall/the bed. It was squishy but not like I said, picture the size of a Pop Up camper or tent...the room is a hundred times bigger than that. We literally only slept in the room- now if it were the Keys - we would have killed each other! :lmao:
Did you know that we have a Nike outlet outside of Madison? Its about halfway in between Madison and Milwaukee.
Yup - we have afew within an hour north and south of us as well. This though, is a NIKE CLEARANCE. There is only 2 in the country - the other is on the East Coast.
I've only eaten at WPE once. Next time, take a picture and they will think you are just a creative artist doing a series showing the emptiness of life when you are just a shell of a person.

I see people smoking with the windows rolled up in the winter here with their kid sin the car and it drives me batty too. I know how much we all survived back in the day blah blah blah but those same people who have those reasoning skills will still get their kids shots even though many back in the day survived polio/mumps too!!!:thumbsup2

More great pics! I love seeing pics of your kids, especially the 2008 to 2010 pics! Nice!

It is hard to believe they are taken only 15 months apart.

I didn't realize the Nike place was a clearance center. :banana:I thought it was just like a Tanger Nike Outlet type place! I'd like more info pleeeeease! Where is the other one? I googled and couldn't find anything. It's like some secret undercover shoe fetish brothel!!!

Oh, and GOOD LUCK to Carsyn!!! Did she take the SAT or is she only taking the ACT? My college required both :rolleyes1

You seriously werent kidding about the crazy lady!!! I can understand why you went out of the car and yelled. But hey at least you made it to Disney and WPE!

Ohhhh, thanks a lot for telling me. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to put them in before or after I add the dry mix.

The walnuts make it taste SOOO good. I love walnuts. I'll keep in mind the holiday sales.

I had no idea about the bananas! I have to give that a try.

I let them sit out overnight, covered ofcourse, and they're actually pretty good. Not as moist as I'd like, but pretty good muffin consistency. Next time, I'll test them as I go.

GREAT RECIPE:thumbsup2 Thanks a lot. I'll be making a loaf soon.

Ok - shoppers.

I just called the Kissimmee location and found out some info.

The Kissimmee location BTW is at 2573 Old Vineland Rd. Kissimmee, FL 34746

The lady there said a few locations just changed out from Outlet's to Clearance centers. Clearance centers get factory stores and outlet merchandise leftovers that might be one of a kinds or out of season etc. and sell things even cheaper.

The new clearance centers are:

MN - Medford Outlet:cool1: This is just outside of Owatona for us MN peeps!

WI - Johnson Creek

TX - Conroe

TN - Pigeon Forge and Memphis Clearance Center

WA - Centralia

CA - Alpine, Marina Square

That is all I know for now - if you want any more info - call the Kissimmee store.

407-396-0500

Carsyn only will be taking the ACT and she is thinking she did not do so hot. She has always been a slow test taker but I also know she is smarter than she gives herself credit for. This is just her first time and can take it again later if needed. :thumbsup2

Bolt was a pretty good movie, I'm glad I watched it. Rhino was hilarious of course! :lmao:

The new clearance centers are:

TN - Pigeon Forge

Sweet! This is right up the road from me, actually we'll be close to there for dinner tonight. I'll have to check it out soon.

Finally all caught up after a week away at WDW! :)

Dawn, if Carsyn doesn't feel strongly about the ACT, have her try the SAT as well. In my experience as a high school teacher, I've found that the two tests showcase talents very differently... and students who don't do great on one often do much better on the other.

I copied the banana bread recipe into my Word file with the NutterRoos... one of these days, banana bread will be on the "To Do" list. :)

Ok...I know what the SATs are, since it's a big part of pop-culture, but what are the ACTs? And why is Carsyn taking them?

The ACT is a different college-admissions exam, much like the SAT. The SAT assesses reading, writing, and math, and has a required essay component. The ACT, on the other hand, assesses reading, writing, math, and science, and has an optional essay component - kids choose when they register whether to take the test with writing or without.

Most colleges will accept scores from either the SAT or ACT when making admissions decisions. The ACT seems to be more regional - when I taught in NY, none of my students took the ACT, but here in TX, probably 70% take the ACT, either instead of or in addition to the SAT.
