"Personally, I think I would make a great stripper!" 8/10 The End

I know but it is much cheaper usually. good luck on the trips.

It sure would be cheaper for sure! Especially if we rented a minivan for the 6 of us. Since this is a 4 night party trip in Vegas, Baby, Vegas!(Our slogan :lmao:), we'd probably end up fighting over who HAD to drive so the rest of us could inbibe on adult beverages at stops on the way. I'm not even sure we'd make it there in time. :rolleyes1 I think we may need to plan a road trip for our group and just get a van and go. No destination in mind. That would be awesome!

"I have friends who are driving to Vegas, California and then Florida, NYC this summer in a RV - Taking an entire 4 weeks for an all girls road trip with 3 generations!"

Now THATS a road trip! Since airfare is so high for our September Vegas trip and flights are selling out fast(Badger game AND Labor Day weekend), we decided to Mapquest the drive just for giggles. 25 hours! :scared1: We decided to go with a package we aren't thrilled with the arrival time there, but we'll make the best of it.

DH and I once drove to Seattle from Vegas for a vacation. It was about 24 hours and we drove straight through with just a couple of food/bathroom stops. We have both said it was fun but we could never do that again since we aren't as young as we were we just don't have that kind of stamina anymore.

That does sound like an amazing trip though, maybe we will do something like that when we retire.

As for arrival time, you know that there is no downtime here so almost no matter when you arrive things will be open. That is actually the hardest part for DH and I when we travel, things close, we are so used to almost everything being open 24/7 that it just boggles the mind that things actually close! Don't even get me started on liquor sale laws in Illinois, what do you mean I can't buy beer for a barbecue on a Sunday. :scared1:

Dawn, I've been keeping up through links.
Have I missed prom dress pics? I need to see what Carsyn has decided on!

Okay I'm coming our of lurkdom. I've been following along on the link but haven't been able to keep up with all the chatter. My your family makes an adventure out of just getting to Disney.

Treyner has Interior Design as his major as well but he wants to end up doing more landscape/architecture design...

That's cool! Wish I had straight guys in my major! ;) I have architecture as my minor. If I went to UK then I could have double majored, but I chose WKU instead.

I wish I had GUYS in my major. Well, actually there are 4 guys in my Intro to Hospitality class, and guess which way one of them leans....

That's ok though, because the guys at my workplace are  Especially in a tux shirt and bowtie.

My car is 18 years old and has 187,000 miles on it. I had been putting roughly 2,000 miles a year on it, but now that I'm at college it's leaning more towards 3,500/4,000.

P.S. I say roof with the oo sound, not uh. But I also pronounce puhcahn, not peecan, and according to my friends always comes out sounding like ohlways. Unless you get me mad, because then I get southern and my words all drawl together. Like the time I told my friend that next time she could make her own darn "cike".

I lost your TR!:sad1:It's been terrible, somehow or the other I managed to delete the link I had saved in my favorites. Luckily I found it again (well duh, I'm here, of course I found it again:rolleyes1. And all caught up too.

That was a lot of driving, I was no where close.

I'm right outside Atlanta, are you going to be here for any time when you fly in for Treynor, or just going through?

Terri

hey guys - does anyone live in or near Anderson, SC or has in the past? PM me if you can. Treyner is really sick and is heading to the Er but I don't know if there is one to recommend over another in the area...

Hate being this far away.

Dawn -I am so sorry about Treynor. Keep us updated as you can and let me know if there is anything I can do.

Dawn - I have a friend who used to live in the Anderson area and she says that if it's not too urgent (and he hasn't gone anywhere else yet) to consider St Francis's in Greenville. She said it's about 20 miles from Anderson but a much better facility than anything he will find in Anderson.

Terri

Oops, sorry I didn't notice you said to PM you, but I have now.

My friends tell me all the time how southern I sound. I don't really mind it until they make fun of me.. oh well. :)

That is what Dan and I want to do once we get married. Take a honeymoon for a few weeks and just go where the wind blows...:lovestruc
We have both said it was fun but we could never do that again since we aren't as young as we were we just don't have that kind of stamina anymore.
Ok - I picture you as like 22 yrs old...now you have me thinking you are 67...:confused3 :rotfl2:
Don't even get me started on liquor sale laws in Illinois, what do you mean I can't buy beer for a barbecue on a Sunday. :scared1:
MN is the same way but Wisconsin sells on Sundays...there is always a line over any bridge heading that direction in MN after church...
Dawn, I've been keeping up through links.Me too on yours!!:thumbsup2
Have I missed prom dress pics? I need to see what Carsyn has decided on!
Nope - she refuses to let anyone see it before Prom!! I just asked again for the boards curiosity and she said - "They can wait. I don't want to show anyone!" :rotfl2:

Okay I'm coming our of lurkdom. I've been following along on the link but haven't been able to keep up with all the chatter. My your family makes an adventure out of just getting to Disney.
I like you have links as well...and yes - it is a trip just getting to the trip!!
If I went to UK then I could have double majored, but I chose WKU instead.
Ah- ha!!
My car is 18 years old and has 187,000 miles on it. The red van we took in the winter has like 220,000, the Booger has 156,000 now and yet - they keep running!
P.S. I say roof with the oo sound, not uh. I screwed up - we say it with the Ruhf sound....I say both ways because I went to school in Canada for quite a bit of time in HS - kids say ruhf... But I also pronounce puhcahn, not peecan, and according to my friends always comes out sounding like ohlways. Unless you get me mad, because then I get southern and my words all drawl together. Like the time I told my friend that next time she could make her own darn "cike".
Carsyn gives me crud when I say house because it supposedly sounds like haOUSE like a long trill at the end. Supposedly sounds sophisticated which is not my personality - oh and I say Blah Blah Blah to shorten everything.

I'm right outside Atlanta, are you going to be here for any time when you fly in for Treynor, or just going through?
Dan is just flying in - he could have had a direct flight and gotten there by 10 am but Treyner is thinking he might not be up and at'em by 8 am, packed and ready to hit the road after a last night of celebratory, college freshman year, shananigans! ;)

So Dan had to get a connecting flight and now gets in at 3 p.m....if he is stranded...I should get hik your contact info! :)

Terri

Dawn -I am so sorry about Treynor. Keep us updated as you can and let me know if there is anything I can do.
He is going to get a doc appt when he gets home - his blood sugar fasting levels were like at 163 and they say that is high for him but want him rechecked. He went to an urgent care. Stre was negative but his throat was swollen, gave him a shot for his migraine and said water and more water and rest.

He informed her it was finals week. :surfweb:

Thaks guys for all the info - he just said he feels like garbage and wants me to make him chicken noodle soup and rub his head.

Poor bubbs.

Did I say he gets home in a week?

Tell Carsyn I said she's a stinker.
I think Treyner needs to come home, if for nothing else to get his head rubbed.

Poor Treyner. Being sick especially during finals week is rough. I hope he feels better soon! We have finals next week and then I get to go home. I'm counting down the days!

Dawn - I know you can't wait for Treynor to come home so you can do some mothering. I don't care how old they get, when your child is sick the mothering mode comes out full force!

Terri

I hope Treyner gets better! I called my mom when I got the flu here and tried to convince her that she needed to leave work and drive down to take care of me. She said if they hadn't been doing inventory she would have. If Treyner lived near our Greenville, I'd totally drive him some chicken noodle soup, because I know how he feels. Though I'm not sure Taylor would like that....

Wow, only one more week until he's done? That seems so early to me! That's too bad that he was feeling sick right at finals week. Hope he feels better soon. Did you buy a plane ticket yet?
When is Carysn's prom?? At least then I will know when to expect the pictures.

Dawn, just to let you know - I-40 into North Carolina from TN reopened today! They still have some work to do but they have a huge rock-catching fence that has been built to keep them off the road in the future.

This will make the trip to and from Anderson much shorter for you guys so I thought I'd let you know.

Tell Carsyn I said she's a stinker. I tell her that daily! ;)
I think Treyner needs to come home, if for nothing else to get his head rubbed.
I know. I am looking forward to it and yet, after a few days it will be the fun of Carsyn wanting to know why he has different rules than her because the fact he is an adult should not matter! :sad2:

Yeah for you!!! :thumbsup2

It does and it is the times they let you still baby them!! :teacher:

Actually, she is pretty mature. Ya have to have trust if you live 50 hours apart.
Wow, only one more week until he's done? That seems so early to me! It is earlier than my colleges released for sure! Did you buy a plane ticket yet? Yup for Dan!
When is Carysn's prom?? At least then I will know when to expect the pictures.
Pictures will be posted in about 3 weeks! If I get a move on with this TR!!! :worship:

Actually - unless we are in Knoxville, we are instructed to head to Atlanta and over to Anderson - but it will make the Knoxville/Anderson run a ton faster!! This summer it will be appreciated for sure!!:cool1:

I have doc appt's with my Dad today and then we are looking at furniture - I will get an new chapter out tonight! :thumbsup2
