Hello! I saw a picture of a sidewalk with personalized bricks (octagon shaped) somewhere at the Polynesian resort, I think. I wanted to surprise my fiancee with one when we go on our honeymoon. Does anyone know how to go about having one made, or how much they cost?

TIA

Julie

:) As far as I know, they stopped selling these a few years back. I wish they would start a new walkway somewhere else though so we could buy one too.

:) At Epcot, they have the Leave a Legacy tiles on the walls in front of Spaceship Earth. Here you can have your picture or a message engraved on a tiny metal thingy. We have a few of those up.

:) Maybe once you are at WDW, you can go have your picture together done or put a message with your names and wedding info. HTH Have a great honeymoon!! :wizard:

These bricks were for Disney's Walk Around the World. The bricks were IIRC about 95$ in 1995. I wanted one SO bad but I just couldn't justify it.. I think they stopped selling them around 2000 or 2002.

Thanks for the info! I guess we don't need a brick anyway. I will think of something else to do as a surprise for my fiancee. Thanks again!!!

The above posters are correct-the bricks are no longer being sold but I don't know what will become of them? We have one near the Poly that we got on our honeymoon  in 1994 and the "contract" said it was to be kept up for 10 yrs.... well, it's now been 13 yrs and it's still in place :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We just visited our brick this trip. Its after the Poly walkway in front of the ticket booths at the TTC.
it was in sad shape...I would like to have it replaced. does anyone know if you can do that?
thanks

ps...we got ours in 1999

Mine is also in poor condition, and it is out there by the TTC exit/entrance. I was surprised, it is not in a well trafficed area at all. I friend has one of the granite bricks, inside the mickey oval infront of the MK entrance. I am so jealous, I look at it all the time. The granite was worth the extra $$, lol.

I wish they still sold these, I love mine, even if it will be removed sooner or later.

I have read before that people clean their bricks when they visit them.:rotfl: You can see that when you are walking by them that some are perfectly clean surrounded by dirty ones. :laundy:

I'm not aware of how you could 'request' a replacement brick. I'd guest a stop at Guest Services at the MK would be a good start to educate on if this was possible or how you might go about doing that.

I believe they stopped selling these sometime around June 2000, my (now) husband proposed to me via a brick that was by the MK but today is at the TTC, he was told at the time that he was one of the last to do that :)

They are now selling these bricks again - or at least they were in March when we visited. We saw a sign outside the MK regarding the Bricks and stopped at the kiosk set up there. We got the paperwork -- I have it upstairs and will try and round it up to share the information.

They had just started selling them again and they said these bricks would be placed in front of MK. I will say they were definitely more expensive the first time around.

Hi! I was just wondering if you found the info? :hourglass

Thanks!!

New bricks are $295.00
Name change fee for existing bricks $100.00

We were sooooo happy about this because my father got one for us before DS9 was born so his name isn't on it. Before you say anything, yes, dad was asked to just put our family name on it as we knew we were planning on more children but you know parents... we had to stop visiting our brick after DS9 learned to read cuz it really bothered him that his name wasn't on it.

How we missed the kiosk in Jan I have no idea but found it last week!

ETA: We were told the new bricks would take the place of the blank ones you see scattered all about so I don't know for sure if they are strictly MK bricks or if they will go all the way around the lagoon.

I just tried the phone number and just got a recording saying they stopped selling them in 2000 :confused3

Ok I haven't gone a looking yet but I was given an envelope to send my request in with -- I promise I will look later this afternoon and post.

Ok found the page --the info is the same as previously reported.

The sheet I have says right on it in bold and underlined The Walk Around the World ended in July of 2000....however this is the sheet that I was given in March and lists the new brick fee and the name change fee. The back page is small print called application agreement and there is a post paid envelope that came with this.

The front of the brick application lists an address on Caribbean Way and the postpaid envelope is to Box 10000 in Lake Buena Vista.

Not much help but I will assure you that I did receive this application at Mk in mid March of this year!

Can you identify the amounts for new brick and name changing?
