Personalized bricks at Polynesian

I think I read on the paperwork from the brick we got in 1995 that they are guarenteed for 10 years or something....

When we talked to the CM in the kiosk in March he indicated that they were just filling in areas where they needed bricks and they were not taking any out.

I just called the number posted. They are definately resurecting the Walk Around The World program. The CM I spoke with said there are 20,000 bricks going in. He also said he is the one heading the project. Toon Town was one of the locations he mentioned. the Monorail Station at the TTC was another. He was talking so fast, I couldn't keep up! How cool! The new bricks will be etched with a laser and a sealer applied to protect it against the harsh Florida weather. He said this process would make them last a lot longer than the current bricks. He also said there are currently no plans to pull out the existing bricks. Can't wait to get the form! They already called back to verify the info they had on file from our previous brick! There is supposed to be a link on the WDW web site, but I couldn't find it. I think this program is so cool!

There was another program he describbed that they are woring on where the kids would have the opportunity to take a picture in a Monorail Pilot's uniform. He didn't go into detail, but only said they were very excied about it.

Was faxed the application and sent it back immediately. SO pricey, but SO worth it, IMHO! We'll be in WDW at the end of August and I was told my brick would be in place before we arrive. BTW, I've been told my anniversary brick will be placed on the walkway between the Poly and the GF Wedding Pavilion. PERFECT!

Well I just called the number listed and it went to an answering maching saying they had stopped in 2000.

I left a message anyway with my phone number so we will see if I get a call back.

Hubby wanted one when we first went there but knowing we were going to have more kids. . . .

She said they were just filling in the blank spaces and not advertising it.

I would be willing to pay the fee if I knew for sure we were getting a MK brick...but we already have a TTC brick and am not interested in another obscure location.

I was given the option of an MK brick but passed on it. They ARE available. Just write your preference down on the application or call back on a weekday and ask for Dino aka Dean and he'll put a notation next to your application as he did for me.

Did you call the number with the recording? Which number for a live person? I want to get one for my family in front of the MK to surprise them in September. We had our honeymoon at the Poly in '95, and I wish I had bought one then!

Oh and how many letters and lines of text do you have to work with? Any restrictions like on the LAL tiles?

The person I spoke with last night didn't say they were giving anyone a choice for their brick location. When I purchased our original brick back in 98, they didn't give us a choice either. The form doesn't have a place to select a location, but does say you can have 3 lines of script, with up to 16 characters per line. You can't have any slogans, company names, salutations, or memorials. HTH.

I just spoke with Roger at Walk Around the World, and he confirmed that I could request a certain location for our brick. The email should be coming by Tuesday!! It's expensive... but personally, I think it's worth it to have our names on the walkway in front of the MK.

Woo hoo! Thanks for posting that info! We have asked every year about the bricks on our trip, and were told they stopped selling them. Then this year, DH found ones with 2007, and yet were STILL told by an MK cast member that they stopped

Now I don't have to search any longer... off to call them! Thanks again!
