Personal Vacation Photographer

Simply in terms of Disney's rules, any kind of commercial photography isn't allowed unless it's provided by Disney or if specific permission is granted. Also - someone mentioned a photographer having an annual pass. That would probably be a violation of the terms that an annual pass can't be used for commercial purposes. I believe that tour guides have to have a ticket.

I would for an engagement or wedding shoot, but I wouldn't otherwise. It just feels weird to me!

I totally understand, but this would be my one chance to be in a set of pictures, instead of taking them

I do wonder if this is similar to the food issue so often discussed on the boards here. Bringing food into the parks is explicitly stated to be not allowed (https://disneyland.disney.go.com/faq/dining/outside-food-in-park/) but as we all know, it's accepted and no cast members bother anyone about it unless they try to bring in certain items (large coolers, glass bottles). We on the board have often discussed how this rule is likely meant to discourage people from doing this and to also have a rule to point to should they want to stop someone from bringing in large amounts of food.

As I said, CMs saw us doing pictures, and our photographer often does shoots in the parks as do other photographers. This is currently not something that is offered by Disneyland. Although they have the FP photographers, they will usually not spend lots of time with you shooting in lots of areas within the park. And if they did, DLR would likely still not make that much money off of it, especially on those who ordered FP+. So, even if they have rules against it, they likely only enforce it when the photographer is being disruptive or rude.

HI Tiffjoy, I’d love to know which photographer you have used! We’re looking to do the same for our trip in December. Thanks!!

Personally, I think there is too much of an obsession lately with documenting one's vacation rather than enjoying it, and this seems way over the top in that regard. But that's just my viewpoint... :goodvibes
