Personal Snorkel Equipment Allowed at Atlantis?

Hi Everyone,

We are planning on doing the Atlantis snorkel with dolphins shore excursion. We'd like to bring our own snorkel mask and snorkel but wanted to make sure this would be allowed.

IME places with dolphin (and other marine animals) in a closed environment don't like outside gear - it is possible to introduce something to the closed environment that's harmful to the animals

I noticed that Atlantis says they provide a mask and snorkel "that's yours to keep" in the description of this item on their web site .... so there should be no concern over "shared equipment" ...

On the other hand I have seen exceptions for prescription masks for example

for comparison:

Disney allows personal mask but nothing else when diving in the big tank at EPCOT .. everything else is their gear ('cept your bathing suit under the provided wetsuit shorty and watch)

{dd and I at EPCOT, her second "post certification" dive ..... subsequently she went to Roatan for 6 weeks of 4 dives day counting sea horses!!}

If really particular, bring 'em and all they can do is say 'no' .... if wanting to save packing space, as I said they seem to provide 'new' for every patron.

Wow, thank you, I really appreciate the detailed reply (and awesome picture too).

I actually had looked on the DCL website and didn't see anything about whether they provide masks and snorkels (specially for Atlantis Aquaventure and Snorkel with Dolphins - N87) so it's interesting that the Atlantis website seems to say they are included. We definitely want new masks and snorkels, but in my case I actually do have a prescription snorkel mask and without it I wouldn't be able to see a thing.
