We have camped at the Fort many times; last time in May when we got our newest TT and acquired our own golf cart---had it painted to look like the Disney Cruise Line ships.

One of the things we all enjoy is "looping" especially when the Christmas decorations are up. Even rented a cart last December when it was sooooo cold to visit the Fort when we came.

This year we had planned to stay at the Fort starting Thanksgiving Day and for the week following, but a few months ago we became DVC members so our trips will now be more frequent---some camping; some at a DVC resort. This Thanksgiving I have been able to "piece together" a DVC stay and will be canceling our reservation at the Fort.

The family is very unhappy at not having our golf cart so they can tour the Fort. Do you think that if we brought the cart and trailer, we would be permitted to park it in the overflow parking lot so that we could come visit at the fort? We have reservations for Trails End (breakfast and dinner different days) and Mickey's Back Yard BBQ and I am sure the guys (DS and DSiL- adults) will be using a marina for boat rentals. For most of out stay we will only be a short boat ride from the Fort at BLT. We don't spend entire days in the parks and like to relax and enjoy just being at WDW.

I really want to have the cart with us, but can't figure out how to make it happen.

Please post back here with whatever answer you get since they are taking steps to limit non Fort people from taking advantage of Fort amenities...excepting of course whatever they can charge you for using.

I never called to ask because I decided if we were not going to stay at the campground, we would not try to bring the cart. I decided my DH would spend the whole trip wondering if it was safe and needing to go to the Fort every day (probably more than once a day :lmao:) to see if it was OK.

My brother had plenned to be at the fort during this time, but he has cancelled his trip. Could have just parked it at his site if he were were there.

Not to be a prude, but it you aren't staying at the fort then you shouldn't use their parking lot. That is for paying campers that need to utilize that area bc their site is too small for their belongings and for guests parking while eating at FW. This is just my opinion and I am sure others feel differently.
