Does anyone know of any vocal performance or musical theater workshops at Disney World? I haven't been able to find any information.

Thanks

This is more of a Theme Parks question - so I'm moving the thread.

I am still wondering if there is any workshops there, so if you have info please post.

The only ones I'm familiar with are attached to Magic Music Days, if you go with a group. Or if you're fortunate enough to get an internship, DS did at DL and they had lots of one day clinics with performers. Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything for individuals to sign up for, like a tour.

I'm taking a group of 12 theater students in July and we have quite a few things set up, but they are all arranged through the Disney Youth Education Series and you have to have a group of at least 10 students to book them. You wouldn't be able to do them as an individual.

Some of the things we're doing:
an acting and improv class at Epcot
a musical theater workshop at the Beauty and the Beast theater at MGM
a backstage tour of the Cirque theater
a backstage tour of the Beauty and the Best theater
a video production class at MGM
discussion sessions with performers, directors, etc.
a mock audition for Disney casting

If you're going with a group, it's definately worth checking out. But, they are totally inflexible - there must be at least 10 students.

Omgosh! That is so cool! I will have to tell my drama teacher about that one! That would be like a dream!I bet it would be fun just being with drama kids (knowing how enthusiastic and crazy we are) in WDW, not to mention getting to take all those awesome classes! Hope you guys have fun! :cool1:

I definately think it will be tons of fun. The kids and I are all very, very excited. We'll be there for 8 nights, so we'll have lots of time to just do the regular Disney stuff as well as all the special activities. This is a really, really great group of very close-knit kids who have worked together for years and years - most of them have literally been working with me in our program since kindergarten. So, it's going to be a very special trip for all of us. (We took them to NYC for 7 nights last summer. We saw 6 Broadway shows and did tons of special tours and classes. It was great!)

That sounds like SO much fun, but i know my choir or drama teacher would never take us, because the Band goes to Disney and because our school has some issues right now. :) but I wish I could go :(

My family and I are staying in Disney for 3 weeks (I know it is a long time but we have so much fun and we are DVC members) so I thought that I could find a vocal clinic I could go to while I am there, but too bad for me. :(
