Just returned from Disney two days ago and just wanted to share what a perfect vacation it was.
We first drove to Georgia for a wedding . Wheelchair Vans of America rented us a van. They were at the airport within 10 minutes of my call to them. When we returned to Orlando we left the van at our hotel and they picked it up. Nothing like the awful experience we had 5 years ago renting a van and waiting over an hour at the airport to come get us and having to return the van to the lot at the other side of Orlando and getting lost and almost missing our flight home.
We stayed with our very disabled son at All Star Movies. Check in went smoothly. We were placed in a handicap accessible room in Fantasia right across from the pool. We were given a king/double which consisted of two rooms and two bathrooms, one regular and one accessible. The handicap bathroom was so large and roomy. It was a short walk from the lobby and transportation stop. It was amazing that we did not hear any noise at all coming from the abundance of families using the pool and having a good time.
We did not take the dining plan at this visit because at our last visit on 8/12 we were forced to purchase an adult dining plan for our son who is g-tube feed and eats minimal. We did purchase new refillable mugs this time but if we had bought the ones from our trip in 8/12 no one would of known as they were the same ones.
The parks were very crowed until the holiday was over and then it slowed down some. We waited for a considerable amount of time for many of the rides which was ok with me since so many people think that because we have a disabled child we go on the rides immediately. We were asked for our GAC card at the Toy Story and Buzz Lightyear rides only. The weather was perfect ~ it only rained the day we were coming home.
