I just returned from two nights at POP. then five nights at BWV, then a final two nights at POP (May 13th-May 22nd). I rented points for the BWV portion of the trip and after reading various reports on the boards about treatment of guests at DVC resorts and preassigned rooms, I was a little unsure what to expect. My fears were groundless however. We (the owner and I) had requested a preferred water/courtyard view studio on an upper floor near the elevators. I checked in early, reminded the CM of our requests, but told him I was more concerned with not having a handicapped room. He was so nice and said he would see what he could do. After searching for awhile he smiled and said he thought he had found me the perfect room, but it wasn't ready yet. I told him I didn't care as long as it had a bathtub. When I returned from the park later that day I was informed the room # was 5061. Imagine my surprise when it was only three doors down from the elevator. It had a daybed, as well as the queen size bed and sofa. I walked into the bathroom halfway expecting a handicapped room, but it wasn't. I then walked out to the balcony to check out my water/courtyard view and found a wonderful view of the Boardwalk with Spaceship Earth in the distance. Looking to the right I saw the back porch of the Boardwalk and looking to the left I saw the boat ramp, bike rental, and Beach Club across the lake. The room was located above the archway between the Wyland gallery and Muscles and Bustle gym. It was amazingly quiet though and I heard nothing (except the fireworks) for the five nights I was there. The room was absolutely perfect.

I'm not surprised. Seems that the best rooms are saved for non-owners based on the testimony we have seen. ;)

My favorite room!!!! That's the same studio we had last August. It was an incredible room. We also had to wait for it. The CM at check-in smiled at me and told me he had a really nice studio if I wanted to wait an hour or so. I figured sure, why not. Man, it was incredible. We watched IllumiNations high stuff in front of us and the fireworks from MK off to the left in the distance. Watched the boats coming and going...yes, it was wonderful. And yes, we are members.

Lest anyone misunderstand, please note the "wink" in my post. :)

I saw the wink - but I doubt the CMs have any way of telling the owners from the guests from the renters. Since the Op was staying on points, maybe the best rooms just go to those who are nice to the CMs!

Best wishes -

Don't worry...we caught that wink Dr P! ;)

aubriee....sounds like a great room! The luck of the draw is such that someone has to get the "best views" and some the "worst views". I'm happy for you that the room gods were smiling on you this trip.
