Heuchera-Also called Coral Bells. Great plants just about anyone can grow them, as long as you avoid heavy clay soil. Coral bells are native to village gardens they are usually found growing with violets and colmbines. They need very little care. They have delicate foliage and slender blowing in the wind spikes of coral (little bells). These plants look great as edgings in borders.

Coral bells like sun or semi-shade. Ordinary soil and grow to heights of 12 inches. There are several varieties, one of the newer ones has marble foliage and purple-red flowers its a very pretty plant.

My purple-red one are really big this year after a shaky start last summer. The green one are in bloom and the little red flowers are so welcome in the sea of yellow coreopsis!

These grow like weeds in our rose border. They root extremely easily. We have bright coral ones that hummingbirds love. I hate the color, personally, and would love to do a garden swap, preferably for lilies of the valley, with anyone within driving distance of Sonoma county, hint hint

I think they are such a great splash of color in the garden - such a nice contrast to the blues and yellows.
