Goatsbeard-Lovely plants that require a lot of room. Some varieties can grow to heights of 80 inches. These plants have a male and female form, with the male being the most beautiful. They develope into a mass of foliage, kind of fern like (larger leaves) with creamy white plumes. Goatsbeard like a soil moist and rich in humus. Grow in any light conditions. They should be mulched in the summer with pine bark and grass cuttings. There are a few smaller varieties. All varieties require lots of water in the summer.

Goatsbeard look good grown against a fence, in a corner or along a rail.
