Armeria-Also called Thrift. Hardy little clumps of grass that stay green year round. In the spring to summer small stems shoot up out of the grass to produce a tiny ball of flowers, most common color is pink, but they come in white and shades of reds. The flowers seem to last forever.
With heights of 6-10 inches, thrift is a great rock garden or edging plant. Plant in a good, well drained soil in the sun.
After flowering cut back the faded cushions with shears. This shocks treatment will give new vigour to the foliage.
