The restaurants you name were formerly divisions of Pepsico, but were spun off years ago into a restaurant IPO called YUM Brands, trading under the stock symbol "YUM". The following is from MSN Money:
Yum! Brands, Inc.: Company Report
YUM! Brands, Inc. (YUM) is a quick service restaurant company with over 33,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries and territories. The Company is made up of six operating companies organized around the five restaurant concepts of KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Long John Silver's (LJS) and A&W All-American Food Restaurants (A&W) (the Concepts). The six operating companies are KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, LJS, A&W and YUM Restaurants International (YRI). Through its five Concepts, the Company develops, operates, franchises and licenses a worldwide system of restaurants that prepare, package and sell a menu of food items. These restaurants are operated by the Company or, under the terms of franchise or license agreements, by franchisees or licensees that are independent third parties, or by affiliates in which the Company owns a non-controlling equity interest. The international operations of the five Concepts are consolidated into a separate operating company, YRI.
And yes, it is a horror--and possibly an affront to the Georgia State Consitution, which as discussed earlier in this thread is believed to require that state residents drink only "Co-Cola "products-- in suburban Cobb County, outside of Atlanta, that the best known local landmark for giving directions, "The Big Chicken", has a retro style Pepsi Cola emblem on the side, as it is a part of a KFC location.
