People are insane!

The funny part is- what time did they save? They pushed some people back and saved maybe 10-15 minutes. I do not like line cutters and will call them out, but sometimes you just have to say hope that trampling of small children was worth it to you and hope karma sorts them in the end

A couple of years back at Rope Drop in Epcot, I heard the guy behind me tell his female partner to "just push him out of the way" talking about my son who was in front of her as we were walking to Test Track. I then heard him tell her "change places with me, I'll do it." I don't think at the time, that he realized the kid he was getting ready to push out of the way was mine. I, of course, quickly changed places with my son, and put myself in front of the rude man. He then tried to change places back behind my son, but he had already started moving forward too fast, and when he tried to step to the side, wound up getting the back of my shoe. It took my sneaker off a bit, but I managed to recover. He didn't do such a good job of recovering, and wound up a fair bit farther back in the line than he would have been had he not been so rude.

At any rate, the insane behavior no longer surprises me. I expect the worst from people in Disney lol.

We were right up front by the rope one morning at Animal Kingdom. The CM went through the usual spiel about not taking off until given the ok, no running, etc. Even so, there were a handful of people who tried to rush in before they were supposed to and the CM had to tell them to get back. Earlier, we witnessed the wonderful spectacle of a flock of Macaws circling overhead. All of the sudden, I heard the CM say "take flight!". I assumed he was talking about the macaws. Thinking they had flown up again, I turned around to look. Unknown to me, "take flight" was the CM's cute way of telling people that they may go. By "flight", most of the crowd understood this to mean break out at a dead run. I'd never been worried about being run down by a stroller before this moment. It was crazy how so many just broke into a run. It really didn't feel safe at all! They really should have had the CM walk people to the Safari.

This morning, I had an early ADR for Akershus. After breakfast, I got on the FEA line at about 9:02, and there were about 8 people in front of me. All of a sudden, the crowd comes and just pushes their way in. Before I knew it, there was like 30 people in front of me now. I know you want to get on the ride early, but jeez.
We had this happen on test track. A teen girl asked if she could move ahead to meet up with her family. After we let her through about 20 other teens pushed through us knocking my 4 year old son over and before I could get to him another stepped on his leg... leaving him crying and with a nasty bruise... now we use our better judgement. We can pretty much judge what 1 person especially with a little one had to get out of line for an emergency potty break and what 'guests' just use it as an excuse to cut.

Wow this just makes me sad. On our first trip my 4 year old was so excited for a MK parade (I can't remember which one it was) we staked out our place over an hour ahead of time (and this was a slow week). He talked endlessly about the parade. About 1 minute before show time a woman and her adult party stood in front of my son pushing the tape further than intended. I was trying to be nice and asked her if she would mind sliding over a bit so my son could see. She told me no and then got into my sons face and screamed more foul words at him directly that I even knew existed. My son was hysterical. We were about to leave but fortunately a cast member heard her and removed her entire party. The amazing CM asked my crying son his favorite color and returned with 3 blue Mickey balloons and a mickey bar.

My DH used the "puff" method when he flies alone on business. He puffs his chest out and makes himself appear bigger than he is so people don't take the seat next to him. I'll have to try this method in line when I go to WDW, spread my self out so nobody can get by me!

I don't think they were implying he was threatening anyone. He's simply trying to make sitting next to him look like the least desireable option. It's not as egregious as you seem to think.

The proper word is discourage, not intimidate.

I guess I just saw the 'puffing out' as being aggressive - puffing out one's chest (how someone maintains that for 15 minutes or so?) is a sign of intimidation/aggression in the animal world.

We were in the magic band test group (as I'm sure many of you were as well) and my DS who was 10 at the time and I had FP for TSM. We were on the bus heading to DHS and my son told me he didn't want to use our magic band for TSM, he wanted to get a cupcake at starring rolls (we barely had enough time to just make our FP time). That was fine with me, but a mom with 2 preschool aged kids heard us talking about it and went OFF on me and my son for wasting that FP when her kids were going to have to wait in line, teaching my not so saintly mouth a few new words lol. Luckily we were able to move into seats closer to the driver and she shut up. My kiddo learned a lesson that day about how we DON'T act when we don't get our own way. Disney brings out the best and unfortunately the worst in people.

I use a "cough method." I do my best to sound as bad as possible with a persistent fake cough when people try to crowd or push me to the side. Try it. It stops people in their tracks. They will give you wide berth.

My husband has an amazing "Resting Jerk Face". Usually he looks like he's having just the WORST time(he's not), but sometimes it's a blessing! :rotfl:

How do 22 people get in front of you in the line ? Did they physically shove you out of the way ? People are definitely rude, but also very oblivious when at Disney. That said, I've never had 20+ people cut in front of me in line. Well, a Brazilian Tour Group tried to do it once, but when the flag carrier went to go around, I just stepped in her path.

/ Helps to be a big guy when protecting your place in line at Disney, I suppose.

Yep, that's the only time I've ever had a group that large try to cut in front of us. They tried the "hand in hand" chain to get in front of my family at Bugs Life. I stepped in front of the leader of the group. She tried to go around. DW then literally stepped right through the chain about 3 people in and split it. I laughed. Group leader did not, but said nothing.

Can confirm it works! I do a great barking cough that sounds like I have the plague, or at least TB. People keep their kids FAR away. I generally get to choose my own seatmates on Disney buses & have nice experiences in lines. :lmao:

i am usually very aware of what goes on all around me - whilst waiting to meet Alice and Hat a couple of weeks ago in Paris - i took my eye of the ball for a minute. A 80 year old guy who was about 4 families behind me was suddenly in front of me.
I werent having that.
Dont play i am an old man and cant undertstand english with me.
I told him that he cut and he tried to say that he hasnt. i was like a dog with a bone - in the end he just stared straight ahead and wouldnt look at me.
I stood in front of him and went to meet alice and hat before he did.

Why would you do that? He had grandchildren with him.

I do hate people.

You have to be aware at all times. I saw a couple with a child in a stroller waiting for the parade in Paris but they wasnt standing right at the front of the rope. i knew what was coming.
About 5 minutes before the parade other people but their kids at the front of the rope -in front of the stroller - so blocking the view of the small child in the stroller.

I had thought about warning them before the parade started - but who am i to tell people - i would be viewed as a busy body or just crazy.

They need to give Mickey and Co a taser to deal with these fools.

Be real - Mickey would NEVER use a taser.

Now Pegleg Pete on the other hand... (Really they oughta give the villaiin characters tasers and have them keep law and order in the parks... :) )

I've been mostly fortunate not to encounter this kind of behavior. The worst being watching A Frozen Holiday Wish when everyone crammed in at the hub (before the renovation) then putting their kids on shoulders then pushing in front of people WHILE the show was going on and putting their kids on their shoulders. Enough that with me videoing the show I've got people yelling at each other in the background audio.
