In case anyone was wordering, Pentax has continued the DSLR rebate that ended July 31 until the end of September. From what I can tell, the deal is exactly the same with the doubling to $150 on the body and 50-200mm combination. Also, the K110D is no longer on the website in Japan, so it looks like it was discontinued. They are supposed to release two new cameras before the X-mas rush, so they are probably going to discontinue the regular K100D soon and stick the K100D Super in the entry level spot.

Wow they are really trying to get those cameras out
I wonder how the prices of the other entry level dSLR's and the Ultrazooms will fare

Thanks for the update, I hadn't had a chance to check it out myself yet.

The big change is that they double the amount on the accessory, not the camera, now. That's a downside, the upside is that there's more flexibility.

Ie, what I just did was buy the K100D ($50 rebate) + AF-360 flash ($25 rebate). Since the camera rebate doubled, I'm getting 2x$50 + $25 = $125 back. Under the new rebate, I'd get $50 + 2x$25 = $100 back.

On the other hand, under the old rebate, there was no benefit to buying the K10D and the AF-360 flash at the same time, so if you did buy that combo, your rebate amount goes from $75 to $100.

Similarly, before, there was no combo if you buy both the K100D and the AF-540 flash - you'd get back $100; under the new rebate, you'd get back $150.

Over at Beach, the K100D w/lens is currently going for $459 ($10 less than I paid) and the AF-360 is $200 ($11 more than I paid), so that's pretty much a wash... they did drop the 10-17mm fisheye to $418 right after I bought mine for $11 more though. Argh!

$318 after rebate for the 10-17mm is a steal compared to what they cost in other mounts.
