Colored Sharpies are a fun pen to use.

So far, we've just gone with the pens that come with the autograph books at the parks. One is a skinny gel pen, the other is a bit fatter. We haven't had an complaints (we do uncap the skinny pen and pre-click the other pen) and everyone has been able to sign...

Maybe the characters are cursing us, but it's their own employer that provided the pens, so...I just don't worry too much about it.

I always used sharpies too, but warned the characters as I handed it to them that it was a sharpie. I don't know why, but I'm afraid that they're going to get permanent marker on their fluff!

Before our last trip, I read about the retractable sharpies on one of the posts here. They were great! No worry about losing the cap or trying to get it off in time for the autographs. You can just click it open right as the character is about to sign, so there's no open pen (ink) as you're in line, etc. We will always use these.

We use crayola markers... and pick a color that suits the character, never had a problem and dd's autograph books are very cool!

Oh wow, that's so awesome! Gonna head over there and buy an autograph book for my dd, her last one is filled up and we're going to WDW in June and I had wanted to get one an official one before we went.
