pennies??

It has been a few years since we have been at WDW, and I do remember my kids having pennies pressed, but can't remember how it works exactly, was there a charge??

It costs .50 to press 1 penny. And I think $1.25 to press 1 quarter. We're saving our Pennies and Quarter to start a collection. Question is...do we take $100.00 in quarters on the plane or just wait till we get there...

There is a $.50 charge for all pennies pressed. You go up to a machine, place in 2 quarters and a penny. There is a handle on the right side of the machine and you turn that (unless there are buttons under the window, in which you move those).

There is an actual offical pressed penny site: pennycollector.com, from there you can find a list of the approximate locations of the penny machines. Also they'll tell you the best pennies to press!! And give you more information that you can ever imagine on this.

I have also seen mention of scrap books for pressed pennies. This would be a great way for collectors to keep track of them. All our end up in the bottom of drawers after a few months. Does anyone know more about these scrap books for pressed pennies?

You can find a book that will hold the pressed pennies, and has space for pressed quarters also at any of the parks. I think they were $5 or $6 and held (looking at Ds's book) the book is about 4x5 inches, folds into 4 sections and holds 36 pennies and 6 quarters. Hope that helps
