This is another MK day! But first, here's the obscured DTD view we had from our balcony. Still pretty.
I LOVE this park, I tell ya! We awoke at 7:00 am to get ready to head to the park in time for EMH. The ankle is still sore and still swollen, but no worse than the day before, so I figure if I can handle AK, I can sure handle MK. And we planned on an afternoon break at the hotel. So, we were off to MK! We arrived to find the crane up behind the castle, as we had the other day. They took it down in the evening before, so we figured they would again. However, it messed up my morning pics

, and I haven't had a chance to edit them yet. I WILL be removing the crane from these photos!
We headed over to Tomorrowland, which we hadn’t really done much of yet. First, it was one of DH’s faves, Buzz Lightyear! Now, I read UtahMama’s trip report, so I checked out the thread about tips for Buzz Lightyear. And I was turning the car around, trying to get targets and I was NOT doing well! I finally ended up hitting something by accident and scored reasonably well, but not as good as I have in the past. What is wrong with me???

I will have to read more and work on this before our next trip, because I so want to score big and maybe even beat DH at this game! When we were done, Carousel of Progress was running, so we headed over there. Gotta go listen to the narrator of A Christmas Story (My favorite Christmas movie!) and sing “It’s a great big beautiful tomorrow…”. After that, we took a ride on the TTA while waiting on the line for Buzz to get a bit shorter, which it did, so we rode it again. No better luck this time around. Oh well, there is always the next trip! DH went into one of the shops to ask if there were specific time for Push, the trash can to be out and about. We had seen Push on one of our previous trips, and it was hilarious! We really wanted to see him again. DH emerged from the shop successful! He had a list of times!

We sat at a table near the spot where Push is said to make an appearance. We sat there for quite some time, and no Push!

So, finally, we gave up and headed over to ride one of my favorite rides, the Haunted Mansion. I LOVE me some Haunted Mansion! It’s not DH’s fave, but I LOVE it - start to finish, I get a kick out of it. Saw the hidden Mickey plates in the ballroom and made it out alive. For lunch it was Columbia Harbor House. This was a first for us. I had always wanted to sit in that part of the restaurant that people can walk underneath. So, we got our food (pretty good fried fish!) and made our way up to the upstairs dining room and found our seats. Perfect! This was our view…
And here's a shot of the castle I HAVE removed the crane from...
Once we were done with lunch we decided to head over to Wilderness Lodge for some photos of another DVC resort, then head back to the hotel for a break before dinner at Tony’s with Jill, our local friend who was joining us for
MVMCP that night. We hopped on a boat to WL. I always thought the song was called Slow Boat to China, but apparently it was Slow Boat to Wilderness Lodge. I swear, it took AT LEAST 30 minutes to get there!

I could tell DH was getting concerned about how much time we would have left by the time we got there. I was too! We took a short walk when we got to WL, and I took some photos. After that, we decided it was NOT wise to take the boat back to MK and catch the bus back to SSR. We decided to go catch the first bus that came by and get a bus to SSR from wherever that was. The first bus that pulled up was…DTD! Sweet!

That’s as close as you can get to SSR. We could just walk to SSR from there! I wasn’t crazy about doing that to my ankle, but I DID want to get back to the room to relax for a bit and ice my ankle! Then, as we were getting off the bus at DTD, what do you think we saw? A bus to SSR!

Woo Hooty! (

to my Peeps) So, we hopped on the bus (well, I definitely didn’t hop, but you know what I mean). We thought this would be great - a quicker trip to SSR, and I wouldn’t have to walk on my ankle. Did you notice I said “
thought this would be great”? Well, our driver thought differently from us, I guess. For one thing, this bus was going to Typhoon Lagoon first. Oh well, that shouldn’t be THAT bad. Well, it wouldn’t have been if it hadn’t been for the fact that the driver thought it was necessary to both drive incredibly slowly and to pump the gas pedal the entire time!

So, as we lurched along, DH and I got increasingly irritated and amused at the same time. When we finally pulled into SSR, the driver pulled up at the carriage house first! This is the opposite of normal. Usually that is the last stop, so the bus is pointed the wrong direction to pull into the angled parking, and she just pulls up by the curb! We QUICKLY got off at this stop! We had packages to pick up at the gift shop, and we were beginning to fear for our lives. I thought DH was going to kiss the ground when we got off that bus. I think he did yell out a “Thank You” to the man upstairs for getting us back to the hotel safely.

We went into the carriage house, picked up our packages at Artist’s Palette (There were a LOT!), and walked back to our room from there. This was a bit of a rough walk for me because we had all those bags to carry, and we ended up cutting through some bushes to get there quicker.
Well, we finally got back and had about 40 minutes before we had to leave. So, I iced the ankle and rested briefly. We decided to try to change our ressies for the last night of our trip. We had ressies at CBR for Friday night, but we hadn’t had a chance to pack, and we’d have to check out in the morning. With my ankle being hurt, it would be a real pain in the rear to get all the bags packed and moved, up to the room at CBR, and back to the van again. DH called the front desk, explained our story, and even though they were completely booked for the next night, we were able to extend our ressies! The CM that DH spoke with explained that they set aside a few rooms for emergencies and such, and we could have one!

What a relief! We also decided we would go by the Beach Club the next afternoon to book our September ’07 trip with the free dining. After freshening up, we headed out to catch the bus back to MK.
