Penalty for missing FP+ window?

If you have a FP+ time slot booked and end up missing it is there a penalty for doing so?

For example I have a Primeval Whirl booked, if myself and son just decide not not to use it does anything happen to our later FP+ times?

There's no penalty for missing a FP+ reservation.

Nope, no penalty. In fact, you can still reschedule the FP+ to a later time or even a different experience if you didn't use it (subject to availability, of course).

I asked a CM at a FP+ kiosk this during our March trip and with a completely straight face and perfect deadpan he responded, "When you miss your Fast Pass+ window, we cancel your other passes, use the RFID in your magic bands to locate you in the parks, and kick you out."

It was the funniest part of our trip!

But seriously, nothing happens, the window just expires.

I figured that was the rule, but just wanted to make sure. I would normally not think about skipping but with the tiers at EPCOT and DHS I made a couple of trashers that might not fit into day. I got them hoping to maybe change later....darn you tiers.

I think a lot of people are doing that now for Epcot and DHS. I know I recently switched around some of my DHS fastpasses to earlier times where we probably won't actually use the fastpasses so I could open up the possibility of more Tier 1 FP+.
