PeepsII-The Hot, Sweaty Asian Strikes Back. Feb 2010. 12/2-Part 2 has begun.

...
I feel like my trip has taken on added meaning as I will not only get to spend time with family, I will not only get to rest and relax, but now I will also get to meet and spend time with some DISers. Winkers, Blueyed and EnglishRosie were 3 of the original posters on my PTR in 07. They walked with me as I struggled to heal from the pain of 7 death of close family and friends that year. They were a source of comfort, laughter and friendship during those months leading up to the trip that year. I was fortunate enough to meet Blue and Rosie during that trip and Winkers...well, she was there in spirit..;)

When I planned this trip, none of them were going. It's only been in the last month, that one-by-one, that they've decided to go to WDW during February. I feel like it's divine intervention that's bringing us together. So I'm not taking our time together lightly. I will treasure each moment with them and count it as sacred time with friends.

Sorry I'm tired and I get mushy when I'm tired.....love all of you guys for all your kind words over the last few days....

Well, aren't you just a sentimental one. That was sweet of you to say that to them. I'll be there is spirit.

I hope that the houses aren't too disgusting. I used to clean hotel rooms - don't get me started! :rolleyes2

Less than 90 days!
:woohoo:

I'm back. I'm still REALLY tired. I may not get to all the chatter. Sorry. I will try and keep up now.

Thanks to all for your nice comments!

Gotta go check all your PTR/TRs...I'll be back with an update...

Chapter 47. Let the shopping begin.

At some point, you know it had to happen. As a male, I try to avoid such conversations as the talk often ends up being about some sort of bag or purse. If it's not about purses or bags, it's devolves into talk about Crocs or some other shoe or sandal.

My thoughts about talk of shoes/Crocs:
wdwfeb2008308.jpg

I can't get away from Crocs. They had a whole store dedicated to Crocs....IN CHINA....
China2009356.jpg

However, I do have to do some shopping for the trip. It is well documented, but I don't make a ton of money working at the church. As a result, shopping of any sort, other than food and toiletries, rarely happens. I shop once, MAYBE twice a year for clothes...

I'm hoping to buy a few things for my upcoming trip.

The first on my list:

Chonies. Boxers. Undergarments. Whatever you call them where you are:
China2009151.jpg

I need about 5 or 6 boxer shorts...mine are currently sporting extra breezeways..:rolleyes1

Shoes
I need a new pair of shoes. Some sort of all terrain shoe will do. I like Keens or Merrills, but they are pricey. However, my last pair has lasted about 10 years and they don't stink....

I could use a pair of dressy casual shoes that I can wear dressed up or with a nice pair of jeans. Think Kenneth Cole type shoes or Steve Madden.

Shorts
4-5 pair of cargo shorts. Nuff said. I prefer American Eagle or Gap.

Polo shirts and dressy casual shirts
I could probably use 4-5 new polo type shirts. JCrew is my favorite for these type of shirts. I also need 1-2 dressy casual shirts for my Signature Dining Meals. I like Nordstrom or the Banana for those type of shirts.

I know. I know. I have expensive taste. I do. I admit it, but the reality is that as far as men's clothing, expensive usually equals longer lasting. I'll pay more for higher quality. I will go to Kohl's as well to check things out.

The chonies, shoes and shorts are a lock. The nicer shirts may have to wait.

chonies....that's a new one.

actually, I had to read it several times because I thought you said "cahonies" .

Yeah, I'm sure after editing we could look REALLY GOOD or REALLLLLY BAD... ha ha ha. Not sure I'm willing to risk that...

Shhhhh. We just like to spring it on him when he can't do anything about it. Ha. :rotfl: And, he's already seen us toting around Flat Winkers and our indecent exposure for FW and Mr. Pirate with BlueEyedGirl so he already knows the kind of people on the DIS.... ha ha ha.

:rotfl2: This sounds exactly like something I would do with my DH if I were in your shoes. ;) I find it's almost always easier to keep them in the dark.

Do you ever go to places like TJMaxx or Marshalls to shop? I was thinking you might be able to find some really good deals on some name brand clothing and then not have to spend so much. They may not have the exact brands your looking for, but it's certainly worth a check, I know some of those brands are there. Check with Marshall's for your shoes, they have a pretty good shoe department, you could find the brands you mentioned.
Also, I find the GAP sometimes has good deals for my sons boxers, be sure to check there. I find boxers marked down as cheap as 1.99, usually they're marked down to around 2.99-3.99 and up when on sale, (of course I get the cheapest I can, I usually won't pay over 4 dollars) and they last for a long time. If I can't find good deals there I go to Old Navy, (owned by the same company as the GAP) they can have some really good deals there too. Not always the same quality as GAP, but still good and worth a look.
HAPPY SHOPPING!!! :woohoo:

Nordstrom's...:cloud9:...lovely...nice taste Jordan...;)

Hmm...most of those store, Gap, Crew, Banana tend to have a lot of classic items that don't drastically change season to season but they have to clear out the old season to make way for the new season....you can do really well if you shop the sale merchandise...have you taken a look on line...

Same with Kenneth Cole and Steve Madden...you can get some really nice deals...

Also do you outlet centers in So.Cal.? We have a nice amt. of them here in the Mid Atlantic...you can do really well there too...;)

I think less stuff of quality will serve you better than more stuff not of good quality...:thumbsup2

Hmmm....you're throwing those names around pretty well Jordan...no more handbang bashing...:lmao:...Mr. Kenneth Cole, Steve Madden...:lmao:

btw...nice taste...

Are you absolutely certain you didn't mean "crotchies"?

Just wondering? :confused3

Crocs in China..too funny! I'm just impressed you can name brands like Steve Madden, Jordan! I'm with the PP that said to check TJ Maxx and Marshalls..both stores rock. Also, don't know if you have them on the left coast, but we have a chain called Ross that carries the same sorts of things. Check the LL Bean site for your shoes too..they make Keen and Merrill knock-offs that are very comfy (I love my keen knock-offs) and usually at least somewhat less pricey. Happy Shopping :)

I've found Kenneth Cole shoes at Ross and I've shopped at Marshall's as well. But I am not a shopper. People think I am, but I'm not. Discount clothing stores require you to search out a good find. That's why most women can go to Marshall's or Ross or TJMaxx. They will look through rack after rack. I want to go into a store pick up 3-4 things and be out of there as quickly as possible.

I'm thinking of going to Old Navy for cargo shorts and I think I've bought chonies at the Gap before. thanks for the great advice:thumbsup2 I appreciate any and all input.

I have a break today at work, maybe I'll go and check Ross out...just for you:)

:rotfl: Leave it to Jordan to write an installment about his underwear. :lmao:

The simple things in life. I like great chonies...what can I say?;)

I do shop at outlets. I usually find good prices on chonies.:thumbsup2

I usually find my shoes at outlets as well.

JCrew sale rack is where I start.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Joran you are tooooo FUNNY !!:rotfl2::rotfl2:The UNDERWEAR UPDATE!!!!:lmao:

Yes, look closely. Those boxers are on their last legs.

Crotchies? The name itself sounds scary.

you're anti-croc??? i can't believe you haven't had your discard revoked yet.

i LOVE my alice crocs. they are a gift from heaven.

Chonies. Boxers. Undergarments.

chonies? i'll have to remember that one.

I need about 5 or 6 boxer shorts...mine are currently sporting extra breezeways..:rolleyes1

ray ALWAYS has extra breezeways in his. but it's his own fault. he drops them in the floor and the dogs use them as chew toys. we've been married for 7 years now and i STILL cannot figure out for the life of me what is so difficult about putting dirty clothes in a hamper, especially when said dirty clothes are dropped in the floor RIGHT NEXT to the hamper. :confused3

by the way, he swears by gap boxers. he loves them. just in case you want to check out their supply next time you're there.

I know. I know. I have expensive taste. I do.

it's not a character flaw....at least i hope it's not! it's inevitable for me....i can be looking through a catalog of clothes and not be paying attention to the prices and EVERY TIME the one item i desire is the most expensive one on the page. that's why i tend to try to not go into places like banana republic or ann taylor...i wouldn't be able to control myself! target and old navy help me out in that department and my wallet thanks me for it! (and so does ray.)
