PeepsII-The Hot, Sweaty Asian Strikes Back. Feb 2010. 12/2-Part 2 has begun.

OK here's the low down on Kona...

My DW & I went to Hawaii on our honeymoon and I got addicted to Kona coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker but put a cup of Kona in front of me and I'm all over it!:surfweb: We went to a macadamia nut farm and tried all the different roasts and flavors of the nuts (no misquote;)). I got slightly addicted to those too!

The reason we like Kona Cafe so much for breakfast is:
1) we love the Poly! We always talk about staying there but I can't justify the money... yet! LOL

2) the pressed pot of Kona Coffee

3) I love the macadamia nut pancakes

4) Tonga Toast.. Some people love it some hate it. We are lovers of it. It is so good especially when dipped in the strawberry sauce(or what ever it is called) It takes away the sweet sugary taste and adds a little tartness(is this a word?) to it.

5) The Likioli (sp?) juice. So good!!!

6) If you aren't all that hungry you can order a plate of fresh fruit

Going to Kona has turned into a tradition for us. We never have had a bad meal here, plus it is very convenient when going to MK to just stop for breakfast. :goodvibes

I missed the ADR Saga of 2009!!!

:scared1: :sad2:

Shoot a girl a text message or something!

The waiting and getting antsy... I start pacing...

It's kinda like in Willy Wonka when the chubby kid is stuck in the chocolate milk pipe

"The suspense is terrible, I hope it will last..."

popcorn::

I've heard about the Tonga Toast. Sounds good, but what is intriguing to me...the macadamia nut pancakes. They sound awesome. What kind of syrup is used?

I LOVE coffee, but never drink it at WDW because of the Nescafe stuff they try to pass off as coffee. So Kona sounds awesome.

I've only been in the Poly once and it was for a scavenger hunt....

Thanks so much for your detailed review.

Well you're here now for the happy aftermath...:thumbsup2

Which movie the original or Johnny Depp version

Which movie the original or Johnny Depp version

The original... It's my favorite movie...

I will watch the new one, but to be honest it kinda creeps me out a little... I haven't decided if it really is creepy or if it is just because I am so set in my old Willy Wonka ways... :confused3

I want a feast, I want a bean feast.....

Here is the description of the pancakes:

Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes - with macadamia nut butter, pineapple sauce and your choice of ham, bacon or sausage

You can add your own syrup if you want. Honestly they really don't need any. The pineapple sauce is so good. When you order the pancakes there are 3 huge pancakes. There is enough for 2 people to split. I don't have a pic of just the pancakes but I have a pic of 2 smaller pancakes with the pineapple butter on them. This pic is of the 'Big Kahuna'

Just where are nut farms?
This one was on Oahu, Hawaii. Pic from my honeymoon!

I want to have breakfast RIGHT NOW! That looks so dang good.

I figured the nut farms were in Hawaii. Just wanted to make sure there weren't random ones say in, Rhode Island...:)

Much better decorations than the booze bottles we lined our kitchen cabinets with - had a car accident and mom found them - not good. Glad those days are long gone!

:rotfl:

What time are fireworks? Seems like it would be dark pretty early in Feb.

Well, if you aren't seated right away and have a post dinner drink 8pm might sneak up a lot faster than you think!

BTW...Goofy's makes a decent espresso if you happen to be in DTD. Somewhere in AK too though I can't recall exactly where.

I will bend the rule for a doppio. That does call for sugar. Short and sweet!

LOLOL You have a dying over here!!!!!:lmao:

I chalk it up to both of us still being tired. In fact, I more tired today than yesterday.

The coffee talk has crossed borders.....;)

I love STRONG coffee sometimes......it's been awhile since I've had expresso straight up......

That was possibly the last time I had it. I'll tell you though, nothing like it to help you deal with the crowds of President's week! Or the crash I found myself heading towards after my HOB blackened chicken salad/parrot bay and coke lunch happiness was being sucked out of me by the World of Disney store shopping madness that my children dove into head first.

The kids bought their sugar, I had my doppio and all was well in my world....

since I'm going during President's Week I guess I should be heading on over to Goofy's and hook up the IV.
