PeepsII-The Hot, Sweaty Asian Strikes Back. Feb 2010. 12/2-Part 2 has begun.

Some things unique to Chinese culture, especially in outlying cities like Guiyang:

People spit---alot and just about anywhere.

You always wear shoes. Toddlers have slits in the back of their pants and can and will pee or poop just about anywhere.
:scared1::scared1::scared1:
The neat freak in my wants to pass out just thinking about that!:scared:

You wanna know why Asian drivers are the worst? Go to China. Although there are traffic signals and people do follow those, everything else is a free for all. It's CRAZY...and then try crossing a street as a pedestrian...it's like being FROGGER....
tonight when I'm driving the kids all over, I will think of this and be greatful!
I can just see you in a game of frogger!

Ask 3 people for directions. Asians are all about saving face. If you ask them for directions and they don't know, they'll just make something up to save face. Ask 3 people or you often end up lost.
what the heck?:confused3
are all asians men?:rolleyes1

always carry toilet paper with you. Many public restrooms even in restaurants don't have toilet paper. Oh and squattie toilets (basically a hole in the ground) are everywhere, but Western toilets are more and more common. I only had to use a squattie twice my whole stay.
I'm saying a little prayer of thanks for my western toilet.........does that mean it wears a big hat and rides a horse?
so, if there isn't toilet paper, what do they use? Now I can see why my dad insited on us using all the toilet paper after we'd been tp'd. "there are asians without toilet paper, you're so lucky to have it hanging from the trees"

The night pictures are gorgeous!!

So if the lanterns burn out and fall like rocks......does it feel like a rock when you get hit by one?

I love the last picture! The way that the traditional looking building with the water sits surrounded by the modern skyscrapers... gorgeous!

I am still trying to decipher the sign...:confused3 :lmao:

Loving the China TR!

I think the reason "Donald" and "Mickey" look weird is because they are not actually Donald and Mickey. There is an amusement park in China that pretty much is a ripoff of Disney and Universal. Let me see if I can find the article for you.

or if it gets stuck in the tree and catches fire.:scared1:

The whole going to the bathroom wherever/whenever you want makes me want to puke. That is just horrifying!

I love the ghetto Mickey & Donald though. :lmao:

I never knew how cheap it was over there, but with the bathroom anywhere situation I understand why :rotfl:. Great pictures, it is so interesting to learn about another culture :thumbsup2.

what are you going to Santa Barbara for?
It sounds so exotic...........I know, I need to get out more.

I had no idea this was here!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Awesome China photos, but I don't think I'll be visiting there anytime soon. :scared1:

Some yucky, yucky customs they seem to have there.:scared1:

I know I've seen the China pictures before, but I love seeing them! Other cultures and countries have always fascinated me :goodvibes

The vast majority of the pictures are fabulous, but a few of them are skeery! :scared1: I just got over the nightmares caused by the skeevy Donald and Mickey LMAO

If you can read this and understand what it means let me know. It was a sign at the park.
Sorry my friend, can't help you out on that one! I think it may be an advertisement for a English Interpreter.

They say after they burn out they just fall like rocks to the ground.
Note to self, do not stand underneath any airborne glowing objects when touring China.

Loved the photos. Based on the first set of photos you sent, I was not expecting downtown to look quite so sleeek. Just goes to show you that one should never jump to conclusions. Of course given that the local rugrats have poo-slits in their britches, it's probably better not to jump at all....at least untill you've surveyed your landing zone.

Looking forward to more! Have a great weekend.

Hey Jordan! When are you going to come over to the "other place" and check it out? We have alot of fun over there! Buzz comes up with some interesting puzzles to figure out and we play other Disney related games!
(Hope I don't get in trouble for mentioning Buzzs name on here!) :rotfl2:
I have a link in my siggie!

Oh NO! We'll never see him again - like the time he went to Facebookland
:rotfl2:
