PeepsII-The Hot, Sweaty Asian Strikes Back. Feb 2010. 12/2-Part 2 has begun.

Wow, you had your own "No Reservations" episode! :lmao: I am concerned about those black WalMart chickens.

I have to say that the Pizza Hut looks better than the ones here; looks like homemade crust instead of the premade.

I don't know why they were black unless they weren't chickens. if they weren't what kind of birds were they....ravens? if that's the case.....nasty.

How can they live without cheese?????

Dairy in general not in abundance.

I think I'd loose alot of weight if I went there.........hmmm, maybe I should take a trip.

I'm not an adventerous eater....so if someone gave me a pot with a chicken foot in it....:scared1:

I'll let u know how much weight I lost in a bit.

Wow Great start on the China pics! Really reminds us to be grateful for what we have here, huh?

Yeah for Kim and Allen! You are all going to have so much fun!

I am more grateful. In Guiyang--only Pizza Hut, KFC and Papa Johns as far as American chains...

We are gonna have fun for sure.

Chelsea read your China update with me, and we had quite a few laughs over it especially over the chicken claw comment.

Eeeewwww about the bathroom!!! You needed to adjust your bathroom rating scale for that one!

My favorite comment of Chelsea's: "They just plop the chickens into a bin and call it good???" My poor, insulated American daughter...:rotfl:

I ladled up some porridge and got the claw and pretty much didn't eat anything else.....

You really got used to it because that was a nice bathroom comparatively speaking.

Chicken claw soup, black chickens---I think I would be at the Pizza Hut every day! I could tell everyone I was on a special pizza only diet.

So far I'm thinking Epcot China is not so much like real China....

lol. No it's not very similar. beijing is more international in flavor than guiyang.

I would've eaten there every day if I was allowed to..

I'm LOVING these China pics. Wow!! What a culture difference. Most of that food looked good to me. Minus the chickens. I'm mostly concerned about the sanitary aspect of that place. :scared1:

Having worked in restaurants, I was most bothered by the sanitation most of all....

Great China pics! I'm jealous! I want to go there!

I'm pretty sure you'll get there someday.

So cool Jordan! You were really lucky to get to experience it, thanks for sharing. I am in vicarious traveling heaven between Punkin's New York report and this!:goodvibes

You'll see more amazing things soon!

:crazy2: Well I think I know where you got the gangrene.

Someone actually said that for real.....

Thanks for sharing the pictures.:goodvibes

Those Walmart chickens look like THEY'VE got gangrene!:scared1:

I'm starting to think they weren't chickens......

instead of "flushes" it could be rated by plungers or dirty scrub brushes

My bathroom was a quadruple plungers.

Oh. That makes a lot of sense. I was gonna make a political pun had it been an eye. Not that I spend my days coming up with these things.

I agree with needing a new bathroom rating scale to describe that dandy.

Gonna work on an improved restroom rating.........

Wow! Great update! I would have ate Pizza Hut everyday I was there! Except for the home cooked meals-they looked pretty good, especially the mexican! Amazing how different things are there.

Thanks for the jump start on my diet. Those chickens .......ewwwwwww.

Yeah the culture is so different. Believe it or not they LOVE Americans, especially of the Caucasian variety.

Great pics, Jordan.
The chickens, or whatever they are, at Walmart...kind of scary!

Yup, I was thinking the same thing.

Thanks for the jump start on my diet. Those chickens .......ewwwwwww.

And if you look at the cooked chickens. It doesn't look like there's that much meat on it compared to here. Of course, maybe that's because they're not pumped full of hormones.

Ok think I will pass on lunch now:scared:

I am gonna pass those pics on to my board of health inspector & tell him that they gave me inspiration I am changing the coffeehouse to a chicken house LOL

I am a pretty picky eater having worked in the restaurant industry for 17 years. So imagine how much I ate while in Guiyang...Beijing was another story.

Hey Jordan! When are you going to come over to the "other place" and check it out? We have alot of fun over there! Buzz comes up with some interesting puzzles to figure out and we play other Disney related games!
(Hope I don't get in trouble for mentioning Buzzs name on here!) :rotfl2:
I have a link in my siggie!

Chapter 5. More of China.

Some things unique to Chinese culture, especially in outlying cities like Guiyang:

People spit---alot and just about anywhere.

You always wear shoes. Toddlers have slits in the back of their pants and can and will pee or poop just about anywhere.

You wanna know why Asian drivers are the worst? Go to China. Although there are traffic signals and people do follow those, everything else is a free for all. It's CRAZY...and then try crossing a street as a pedestrian...it's like being FROGGER....

Ask 3 people for directions. Asians are all about saving face. If you ask them for directions and they don't know, they'll just make something up to save face. Ask 3 people or you often end up lost.

Always carry toilet paper with you. Many public restrooms even in restaurants don't have toilet paper. Oh and squattie toilets (basically a hole in the ground) are everywhere, but Western toilets are more and more common. I only had to use a squattie twice my whole stay.

People actually walk. Walking is free. So most people walk.

Look...it's WDW.......This was at a huge park in Guiyang...

They call it the monkey park since there are is a large population of monkeys living there in the wild pretty much.

Downtown Guiyang at night. It was the Latern Festival. You buy these paper laterns. Light the gas inside and watch the Latern float into the sky. They say after they burn out they just fall like rocks to the ground.
