OMG! OMG! OMG! I have to show this to you guys!! My birthday was Sunday and my DH was really upset because his gift for me wasn't finished yet. He is a wire jewelry artist and he has been incredibly busy lately. ANYWAY, I just got my birthday gift and I am in tears!!

mickeypendant2.jpg

Do you recognize that red Mickey head inside??

mickeyheads.jpg

Yep, it is confetti from our last night in Disney at the Wishes Dessert Party! DH had collected it off of the table when I wasn't looking to make me a pendant with! He even put a hidden Mickey in the bail (not really hidden, but you know what I mean!)

He usually makes pendants from people's flowers (prom, wedding, funerals, etc.) but said he didn't want to get arrested for picking flowers in Disney World! :rolleyes1

Anyway, he is the sweetest DH in the world (right now) and I had to share with everyone I know who will appreciate it!

.

THAT'S AMAZING!!! What a special gift!

Ahhhh, yeah, I can see that (fluctuating)... based on how everyone's eyes heal... I do also have a 1 year "guarantee" so that I can go back throughout that year if there's a problem... because my eyes were so bad, I don't have a lifetime guarantee (most TLC patients are, but about 20% aren't) but a year is ok for me...

Interesting that the "fix" was more uncomfortable... why do you think that was?

Anyway, I am loving it so far and it's pretty amazing technology. When I went back yesterday for my post op, I was already 20/25 in one eye and 20/20 in the other, and only 70% healed so I can only imagine it'll get better... my close vision was still a little blurry but over the day today it's gotten better. There are still patches of blurriness here and there, in varying distances, but I'm ok knowing that it'll just get better...

Amazing!!! :cool1:

Oh! And I got my Magical Express tickets today! Whoo hoo! :woohoo:

I can't believe it's only 3 weeks away! I have TOO MUCH TO DO!!!!! :faint:

Glad your surgery went well, Wendy! It is so amazing they can do that!

:banana: for ME tickets and 3 weeks!!!!:banana::banana: I can't believe you are all that close!

Ok Jordan I caught up on your thread. I started out by reading the links then I went back and read the chatter, I always feel like I am missing something when I do that.

I am sending prayers up to our Great Physician for your uncle and Wendy's dad. Cancer does suck and I have lost more family members to that then anything else. I am glad to hear that he is doing better.

Wendy I would love to be able to have lasik. My brother has had it done and he loves it.

Chapter 73. A boatload of info.

Okay, so I had a reprieve today, but really it wasn't as I was so tired that I didn't feel that well so I slept all day and have been pumping the tylenol...

Of course, when I sleep all day, my internal clock gets all jacked up and now it's 12:30am and I'm wide awake. Well, not wide awake, but awake enough to spend the last 5 hours catching up on everything that I've missed for the last 5-6 days.

So what has transpired in the last week? Alot.

It is as follows:

As it happens to most folks around this time, I received my Mickey Mail.
003.jpg

I had previously taken down the suitcases from storage, but now I've placed the large one open on my couch and taken my carry on out as well.
005.jpg

I've also started gathering items that I'll need for my trip that I don't normally use--stuff like my Trip Journal and my Water Park waterproof "wallet".
004.jpg

I did have a little time for fun. I met up with some friends from college. There are about 12 of us who lived in the same dorm freshman year and we've stayed friends since then even w/o Facebook. We've known each other almost 30 years. We went to dinner and then went to see UC Irvine Men's Volleyball (ranked 1 in the nation).

Here's my friends in front our old dorm, Lago.

Here's all of us standing in the doorway:

The biggest event of the week is a change to our plans. Wendy and gang have decided NOT to do the Water Park option. They will buy tix for DisneyQuest, but not do Typhoon Lagoon. Sooo.....this puts our itinerary in chaos. Well, not chaos, but it's now definitely in flux a bit. Our TL day was Thursday. I'm keeping that as my TL day, but now I'll be doing it solo. I have also decided to forgo Kona on Wednesday night as I have a breakfast there on Sunday morning. I am having difficulty trying to figure out where to eat.

Where should I eat on Wednesday? I am doing AK evening EMH, but I don't think any of the AKL/AKV restaurants are options because I'm doing the trifecta during the solo portion of my trip....so where else should I try. I want to try somewhere new and am willing to change my AK evening EMH to accommodate an ADR somewhere else.

Finally, it's now officially Saturday which means I'm now 20 days out. Here's a look back at 2008:

How bad was it sitting with something in your eye? I don't know if there's enough drugs they could give me to relax....could you feel it?

:banana::banana::banana:ME tags!!!!!:yay::yay::yay:

Only 20 days??!!!

that means I'm down to 18!! Holy moses!! I was thinking I was around 25 days away....

oh, I've been laughing all day over Indiana Jordy.....

it's hard to explain to someone why you're laughing at random times.....I tried and they just shook their head at me....so I laughed a little more.

Glad you're back! Things were getting out of control, and folks were having to resort to cones of shame! :scared1: It was so bad, it spilled over to mine! :lmao:

Hope your internal "clock" gets rewound soon, and you can clearly think about what needs to go inside those bags! I'd hate for you to forget something like your travel sized wet wipes or favorite chonies!

It's now 1:45am..time for bed me thinks....

I did do a test run to the Target Travel Aisle to see what items I fancied for this trip.....wet wipes were looked at. I had no idea there were different types...

Woo hoo for ME tags and such!!!

Can't believe it is already time for you to start packing!!!

Hmmm, where to eat on Wednesday? You're going to be solo that night, right? I thought I could come up with someplace but this early in the morning, my mind is a total blank.

You have 3 weeks to give me a suggestion. No rush...:)

I looked and looked for your itinerary (as it stands) and couldn't find it. I need to look at that to see what I'd do if it were me.

I'm so glad that you are able to see better. I agree that it is amazing technology. I think it took my MIL a few days to be able to see 100% but it's still just so amazing.

:yay: for your Magical Express tickets!! I am still waiting on our documents. Nothing yet. They make me nervous sometimes!!

That is gorgeous! Does he sell on Etsy or anywhere?

I have to work both Sat/Sun.:confused3

Oh that's right... well, have a relaxing ... Monday?

Yay Wendy! So glad it went well. It is awesome, isn't it? I think the second time is more painful because they do not 'recut' the flap in your cornea - they just pry it up. So those nerves that have just begun to regenerate or sent into a frenzy. Or at least, that's how the doctor explained it to me when I went in for the follow up. My eyes were so light sensitive, the only way I could watch TV at night was with sunglasses on - and my eyes still ran like a river the whole time:eek:

As it happens to most folks around this time, I received my Mickey Mail.
003.jpg

Yay for the Mickey Mail! I always feel like a little kid at Christmas when it gets closer to the trip and I'm so excited to check the mailbox everyday:cutie:

I did have a little time for fun. I met up with some friends from college. There are about 12 of us who lived in the same dorm freshman year and we've stayed friends since then even w/o Facebook. We've known each other almost 30 years. We went to dinner and then went to see UC Irvine Men's Volleyball (ranked 1 in the nation).

That's awesome. There is nothing like old friends for keepin it real. I've know my two best friends since 6th grade.

I did do a test run to the Target Travel Aisle to see what items I fancied for this trip.....wet wipes were looked at. I had no idea there were different types...

Some are for folding and some are for scrunching. Better check the package before you buy;)

I lost many friends when I was young. I had a friend who was 30 when he died from cancer and my boss died when she was 36.

I understand your pain on that one. I think for a while I lost a friend a year. It started around 5 grade and lasted many years. Although, only one friend was from cancer but I have lost many relatives from different forms of cancer. I agree with everyone.....cancer totally sucks!

On to happier thoughts....... I am so JEALOUS that all of you have recieved your documents! I am so nervous about when we will get ours. My "mother agency" tends to drag their feet when sending out documents. It drives me crazy!

I think I will break out the suitcases and slowly start packing here and there in about 4 more days. DS will be back at school after a long weekend and I can get down to business! :woohoo:

It's great that you got to spend some time with old friends. I did the same yesterday and it was such a nice stress relief!

Not sure about where to eat on Wednesday. Hmmm, is there anything you haven't tried along the boardwalk or DTD? Or is that too far from where you will be?
