Peeps 2. The Sweaty Asian Strikes Back. Pt 2. Feb '10. 2/21-Final Chapter. Link to TR

I think someone has them Eliz? they're comfortable apparently. even my roommate said they weren't that bad.

I don't know about Discounts and Disney being in the same sentence, although they have some good deals right now.

Yes, I am the owner of the high-heeled crocs. I'll take a pic if our computer ever gets working again. :badpc:

I would think there would be some way to get group rates for a large group...but maybe not, it is Disney! :teacher:

You can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you!

Oh, king eh? Very nice. And how'd you get that, eh? By exploiting the workers. By hanging on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic and social differences in our society.

Let's not go to Camelot...it is a silly place.

All the Monty Python movies are great.

We've had a team working on this over the past few weeks, and what we've come up with is the meaning of life can be reduced to two fundamental concepts. One: People aren't wearing enough hats. Two: Matter is energy.

Wait a minute, I didn't even eat the salmon mousse!

"We are three wise men." "Well what are you doing creeping around a cow shed at 2 in the morning? That doesn't sound very wise to me."

DH and I may or may not have recently watched a six part IFC special on Monty Python. ;)

party::welcome:party:

Laugh alot.

Cry a little.

Vent when you need to.

when you need a shoulder to cry on, we're all here.

Welcome to the nuthouse.:grouphug:

And this is why we are all here. :thumbsup2

A suggestion for a restaurant I did not see listed is The Wave. I ate there in October and loved it. You didn't even have to cut the filet and they have a very large selection of "interesting" drinks. :thumbsup2 I made a reservation for my first night in May too in anticipation of another great meal. ::yes::

We made ADRs at the Wave solely because my BIL said the steak there was better than the one he had at Jiko, and we thought the one at Jiko was pretty darn good.

Can i join :flower3:
I have tried twice now to do a trip report, I never finish :sad2: but I do love reading others ;)

:welcome:

Chapter 57. Another Dining ConundrumHow many of you know where this is going? Did I have you at hello? I was thinking "Why not change to the regular DDP?" I called Donna the TA and to upgrade to the regular DDP for the Pop portion of my trip--90 dollars. What do you think? 90 dollars vs 125-175 dollars? Should I go for it?

IF I do it, I have 4 TS meals to fill So back to polling the readers for their opinions. I can join Wendy and gang for some meals, but that would require cancelling and trying to rebook the same restaurants. The only 2 I am missing are Chef Mickeys (no thank you) and Kona which I actually want to try......So if I ate at Kona with them, that's 6 ADRs, that leaves me with 3 or 1 regular TS and maybe 1 signature both solo in all likelihood.

Here are my top 5:

Le Cellier
Chefs de France
Tutto Italia
Raglan Road
CA Grill

Maybe move one of the ADR from solo portion to Pop portion to give me more flexibility during my solo time.....

Here are the ADRs as they stand or may stand:

Kouzzina
Prime Time Cafe
Teppan Edo
Tony's??
Kona??
Boma
Jiko
Sanaa
Brown Derby
Flying Fish

Thoughts? Opinions? What would you do? Switch to DDP? Where would you eat?
OK you already know that for $90 upping your DP to include the TS is a must do! So I'll move on to your choices.

Of the one's you are considering, I've only eaten at Raglan Rd. and Le Cellier.

Raglan Rd. was very very good. I am actually thinking of eating here again when we go in March.

Le Cellier was awesome. I had the filet and it was one of the best I ever had.

Cali Grill- Everything I've read and people that I know who have eaten here all give it rave reviews. If I ever make it to WDW without my daughter, I'll be getting an ADR here.

Of the ADRs you have already booked.....

Kouzzina-never ate here
Prime Time Cafe-never ate here
Teppan Edo-Really want to try. We ate at a hibachi for my anniversary with 3 other couples and had a blast. Between getting saki squired in my mouth and doing saki bombs, I left the restaurant felling quite buzzed! LOL
Tony's?? I've eaten here and out of your list, I'd drop this ADR to fit in another. It was OK just wasn't great.
Kona?? Are you thinking of dinner? I've only have had breakfast here- which I love and do every trip.
Boma- never ate here yet, but is on my list to try in the future.
Jiko- I really enjoyed the filet and mac. It was awesome. We even brought our DD who was 2 at the time and she loved the mac&cheese too. Plus she was really well behaved! :)
Sanaa- never ate here
Brown Derby-On my list to try in the future
Flying Fish- Never been

I can't believe I missed out on the Monty Python!

I say go with the ddp, and save the money!

$90 versus $125 that's a no brainer even with FUZZY MATH!!! Go for the ddp Jordan !!:thumbsup2

Now as for which resturants ?????:confused3 I know Kouzinas is a Dis meal so that's set !!!We are still trying to figure the 6th out for another Dis Meal so whatever we decide will be another one !! had mentioned the Wave over on that other thread ;);) as I agree the filet was delish !!

Now back to catching up !! Dang work interfers with my Dis time !!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well, I think it's obvious that you should add the DDP. 90 vs. almost 200....YIKES! Yeah, go with the 90.

As far as the restaurants, I like all that you have listed. I have no idea which one I'd scratch off the list. My brain is still trying to figure out where we should all eat for our "meet dinner". I *think* coral reef has the most votes *IF* I'm reading everyone's reply's right. :confused3 I'm still confused.

yeah, but there were a couple more reply's after that and it looked like it was leaning back to coral reef. :confused3

Anyway, Rosie threw out the idea of The Wave. Head over to our thread and see what I found out! You may have to vote again. :lmao:

I think I replied to you on your Thread....The Wave is now my choice.

Good to have other February peeps here!:thumbsup2

Managing, and I chose that word carefully, a PTR/TR is work, alot of work. The upside is entertaining people for an hour or two and making tons of new friends.:)

Cant wait to see the pic!:thumbsup2 Oh the PC is still not working. When is guy coming out?

My Travel Agent friend will probably help me coordinate everything as well as my cousin Wendy and me. I'm hoping that with enough people we can get a few bones thrown our way from WDW...

We are further alienating ourselves from mainstream society..the DIS...Monty Python.....what next....

Thanks for the advice Tim:thumbsup2

I think Tony's if off the list.
ooooh yeah, Kona for Breakfast!!!! It also makes more sense to do it during th e Pop portion of the trip! hmmmm....now when to do it.

I can't believe I missed out on the Monty Python!

I say go with the ddp, and save the money!

I agree. My TA said I have time. So I'll wait to do it.

ihave always loved the food at libery tree tavern

Not on my radar this trip because it's going be subbing for Crystal Palace while CP is down for rehab. I've always wanted to eat there, but it never makes the final cut. I guess that's a good problem to have.

:cheer2: Up-Grade, Up-Grade, Up-Grade :cheer2:

It's a fairly easy decision for sure.

Yeah no brainer for sure.

I think the Wave is going to be the final choice. I feel it.

really how long is CP down, we were hoping to but that on our short list for a breakfast meal?

"We are three wise men." "Well what are you doing creeping around a cow shed at 2 in the morning? That doesn't sound very wise to me."

Since you brought "Life of Brian" into the mix.....

"But apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh-water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?"

"Eh, freedom for me. They said I hadn't done anything, so I can go free and live on an island somewhere." "Oh, oh that´s jolly good well. Off you go then." "No, I'm only pulling your leg, it's crucifixion really!"

I think they are pretty neat!!!

If you upgrade to the regular DDP, then you will have more tips out of pocket, so the DDP right now will cost you $90 more-but those tips add up quickly...

But, if you aren't concerned about money in that way....I like the 1 Signature and 2 regular meal ideas to fill those 4 TS credits. I have read oodles of positive Rose & Crown reviews lately, so I have to second that one!

I am going to try Rose and Crown this time too !! They have alot of things to choose from that I like !!

really how long is CP down, we were hoping to but that on our short list for a breakfast meal?

Just for 6-7 weeks in Jan and Feb. You should be good.

You mention Brit Humor and Monty Python and the dam breaks.:thumbsup2

Benny Hill anyone?

Yea me too I think there will be 9 of us !!!:banana:

Here is my wavy chairs pix:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Is the Wave our destination?

Yes it's the Wave at 5:55p !! FOR NINE of us !!!!!!!!

I was not a Beny Hill fan !! He was far more popular in the States than in England:rotfl2:

Now on the Buses and til death do us part !!:lovestruc

Holy carp!!! I can't believe how many pages you have in just 2 days! I'll come back later to catch up!

Yeah I thought about that.

Okay let me do the math and see how it comes out. It was approx 270 for the QSDP and it approx 360 for the DDP. If I had 5 TS meals OOP it would cost:

The Wave:
Soup: 7.99
Flank Steak 20.00
Potatoes 3.99
Drink 3.50
Tax/Tip: 12.00
Total: 48.50

Kouzzina:
appetizer: 7.99
soup: 6.99
Chicken: 22.99
Drinks: 3.00
Tax/Tip: 11.50
Total: 52.50

Prime Time Cafe:
Onion Rings: 7.99
Pot Roast: 16.99
Drink: 3.00
Cobbler: 7.49
Tax/Tip: 10.00
Total: 45.50

Teppan Edo:
chicken and steak combo: 28.95.
drink: 3.00
tax/tip: 9.00
total:41.00

Boma:
Buffet: 30.88
Tax/Tip: 9.00
Total: 40.00

Total: 227.50
add maybe 2 out of 5 extra CS meals wasted or not used or not used by me.
Total: 24.00
New total: 251.50

QSDP: 270.00
OOP: 227.50
CS waste: 24.00
Total: 521.50

Okay now with DDP

DDP: 360.00

When dessert is included I usually don't get appetizers or soup/salad because it's too much food.

Heres the cost breakdown for each restaurant using tip and maybe something else on the menu:

The Wave: 15.00
Kouzzina: 17.00
PTC: 17.00
Teppan Edo: 10.00
Boma: 10.00
Kona: 17.00
Tutto: 18.00
Sig dining: 40.00
Total: 144.00

DDP: 360.00
Tips and extras: 144.00
Total: 504.00

So it's pretty equal.....

I'm glad I did that. Thanks Brook for the reply because it made me actually do the hard math instead of the Fuzzy Disney Math.
