Did anyone sign up for Peacock so they could see the Chiefs/Dolphins game tonight?

DH knows the owner of a local sports bar who said that if he wants Peacock for one t.v. in the bar it will cost him $3500 per year. and i thought the fees for a private residence were price gouging.

I've been checking the score via the computer every twice in awhile. Go Chiefs!

Yes SO had an offer from AMEX if you spent $5.99 or more they would credit your account $5.99. So ended up paying some taxes for the month and then set a calendar reminder to cancel as SO is not to good at remembering lol

I think I paid 19.00 or so for a year. There was a nice offer last month.

I have the free version of Peacock and have had it for over a year and rarely watch it.

Public viewing prices are always more expensive than for private homes.

I pay $2.99/month through a special deal. It is normally $5.99/month. Unlike @tvguy I use it nearly every day. I don't have any type of broadcast TV, cable, etc. So I use Hulu & Peacock for all my TV watching. I pay less a year than I did a month when I had DishTV.

I think that may have been the black Friday/cyber Monday deal. We signed up. $22 after taxes. Haven't watched it once. We always sign up during these sales. Have Hulu and Disney + for like $3.50. Prime is the only one we have to pay full price for. Get MAX included with our AT&T Fiber.

Businesses get gouged. Any time there is some type of commercial operation, there is someone there to sell them a service. They think because they are a business they can afford to pay more. That isn't always the case.

DH signed up for it today. Talk about wasted money. :sad2:

DS was glad he signed up. He wanted to watch the game & another show later this month. We'll be cancelling, after he sees the show he wanted to watch.

You should be able to get local channels for free with a set of rabbit ears

If only. I tried and could only kind of get a PBS station. TV reception as always be poor in the town I live in. It’s why I got cable years ago. If I invested in a roof top antenna I may be able to get something but it’s not worth it.

We did.
I went with the $5.99/month deal for right now. Probably will keep for a month or so - I'm not sure, will other playoff games be on Peacock? We have antenna TV currently with Prime & Acorn being the only services we subscribe to, so Peacock will offer a bit of different TV to watch for a bit.

The question of "What streaming service do you watch the most?" came up as a topic at dinner with friends tonight. Peacock was the winner in our group, surprisingly.

Least watched went to Paramount+.
All the Dick Wolf stuff is on Peacock. Most stuff on Paramount+ can eventually be watched on Peacock. If it weren’t for Hockey I could get away with Peacock and Hulu with the occasional binge session on Netflix one or two times a year. Peacock is hands down my most watched.

I pay yearly for Peacock + commercial free. I think it works out to $139 a year which is a steal compared to other services. I don’t watch football but the price for public display is going to be high for any service and brand. Always has been. While watching sports in a bar is a social pastime, a lot of people go to the bar to watch because they don’t have a package or service. These brands and companies are going to get paid one way or the other.

I did their $30 annual sign up for the first year promotion they had this week. I figured I’ll get in a few more binge sessions of The Office for a year then cancel it.

It’s less than what a bar tab would’ve probably been to watch it somewhere else.

I signed up for the one year rate of $19.99 last month. As an avid IndyCar fan, their coverage is outstanding and was a great deal vs. $5.99/mo. for the racing season.

I also use it to watch any NFL game broadcast on NBC.

That's interesting because I was thinking of dropping Peacock and picking up Paramount+ We grabbed a Peacock subscription for some low-ball fee, but there's just not a lot there for us.

InstaCart had free trial deal, so we did that with a spam email account; refused to pay money for it. Gave Peacock, NBC and NFL an earful so they don't repeat this garbage again next year.

Loved this from FB last night...
