payoff trip question.

I just got our paperwork from disney for our June trip. It says on bottom that total amount must be paid by May 21. THIS IS NEWS TO ME. This was a rate change for us and in 3 conversations I had with Disney I was NEVER told this.

When I called Disney and explained to CM she said it was just a default thing and I could pay rest upon arrival. So what's the story? anybody know?

I'd like to know the answer as well. I just received my modified confirmation for adding the AP code to my reservation, and have a due date of May 17. This wasn't on there earlier.

My reservation form has said that our balance was due like 30 days before our trip.

I called Disney 5 or 6 times to confirm. Each time th cast member said it was a tactic to get me to pay off my hotel before I left. But that since I was on a room only rate, I did not have to pay it off before I went.

If you are on a package though you do need to pay your resveration off before your travel.

We booked our trip last week and online told us payoff was next week. Terms and conditions state must be paid off 45 days prior to trip. Appears they are now charging a cancellation/change fee as well regardless if you cancel prior to the past 72 hour rule.

If you have a package you have to pay off within 45 days of visit. Room only can be paid at check-in. I got the same thing with my room only last year and could and did pay at check in.

to make a long story as short as possible--and I have a question to follow--
when the AP rates came out, I changed from a MYW package, to an AP
resort, with 1 MYW ticket added. The CM told me that the two systems are
different (package ressie vs resort) and that it would take about 3 days for
the "package dept" to credit my card, so that I could apply the card to the balance owed to the "resort dept"
Is the time frame of 3 days accurate? this is important cuz it was a incentive points card, that expires the end of April, so time is of the essence.
Can any of you help me?

Wow, I just got our paperwork too. The cm told me on the phone I could pay the balance at check in. The paperwork says the whole balance in due by april 3 and no other notices will be sent. I want to call and verify this too. I have an ap room only rate new reservation that I just put a deposit on.

the paying it off by due date isn't problem as we always have had it paid off before arriving. It is just that I was shocked by this change since it is first I had heard/read about it. It wasn't on trip info from last Sept. trip and since I didn't get original ressie info from when I first booked it I was a bit shocked. Yes it is a room only and now AP rate. I was aware of 45 day thing with pkgs.
