Paying with GC after pre-paid res already made?

I have been stockpiling discount Disney Gift Cards intending to use them to pay for our OOP meals. I was not at home and didn’t have the GC #s ready to go when I snagged two reservations I’ve been stalking for. Both are prepaid (CRT and HEA dessert party). I had to enter my credit card to get them and both have now been prepaid. On a trip when we used DDP at CRT, they refunded the credit card after the meal. Is it possible to get them to do the same by paying with a gift card at the restaurant? Or by calling dining in advance can I have the payment method switched? I don’t want to risk losing the reservations, so it’s not worth trying to cancel and rebook. But it would save me over $50 between these 2 if I could switch to the GCs. Thanks!

If you call disney dining, they will tell you you need to cancel and rebook (and in all likelihood lose your reservations). But if you ask to talk to someone at guest services, they can probably help you out.

Show up and try or try at guest services, but don't try with a phone cm. I've heard many sad stories of the phone cm losing the ADR for the guest.

This may be a dumb question, but can any Guest Relations help with this? Or just one related to the event? I want to do this with my HEA party. I was going to call, so this post was very timely!
